    Hello everyone!

I'm working on an improved and more complex version of Pokémon Emerald using the RH Hideout pokeemerald expansion.

    Main features

    • All Pokémon and items will be obtainable an unlimited number of times without trading or cheating. This doesn't mean it will be easy to do so ;)
    • The game will force you to, literally, "catch 'em all" or almost all. That's because each HM will be obtained by completing a speciffic amount of entries in the Pokédex.
    • Friendship will play a bigger role in the evolution and trading of Pokémon. All evolutions methods will be changed to be friendship-dependant. Of course, trading evolution methods will be been removed.
    • Defeating a Pokémon will not give yours EVs anymore. Instead, every time a Pokémon levels up, you will be asked to select a stat to increase its EVs. The amount of points earned depends on factors as the friendship of your Pokémon, and the average level of enemies it have defeated from the last time it leveled up. This allows you to train your party while you progress in the game instead of force you to kill a lot of Poochyenas before battling the first trainer XD
    • All battles in the game (including wild encounters) will be double battles.
    • Trainers will be more difficult to beat and will have more diverse teams.
    • Pokémon of newer generations will be added. This initialy include all evolutions and pre-evolutions of the original 386 that appeared in later games (they are 30, so the new total is 416), but later I can include other species.
    • Pokémon stats and moves will be balanced to make them all equally viable in battle.
    • Pokémon can use HM moves without learnig them. All you need is a Pokémon compatible with the move, the HM disk, and the badge that allows you to use it outside of battle. Also HM moves can be forgotten by learning new moves.
    • A lot of quality-of-life changes will be added, as well as many features of newer generations.

A list of all planed/implemented features can be found here.

    Current state

The game is in an early stage of development and there are no releases yet, but you can find the source code here. There is a lot of work to be done and right now the development team is only me XD, so if you think this project is worth it and want to join, you are welcome!

    Contributing

Right now I'm searching for programmers, but even if you don´t know how to code, you can help playing the game once it has been released and provide some feedback. See the contribution guidelines for more info.

    Acknowledgements

oh nice! I love the stat system you're setting up, that's something I would love in an official game. Not too fond of the forced double battle mechanic. For a game like pokemon collosseum I didnt mind that but for something emulating a mainline game that will get in the way of level grinding a lot.

Can this be in zip please. Also can there be a guide for the game when the game comes out lie telling you where to find specific Pokemon?

My apologies if I posted in the wrong place. But technically speaking, I'm not hacking any ROM. Instead, I'm building my own ROM modifying the source code of the original one.

As for the battle system, I am not trying to imitate the mainline games. I'd like the player to have to think before making each move, rather than hitting the A button without even looking at the screen.

Requirements do not meet, so this thread has been closed.
