[Released] Pokémon S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M.

v1.3.1 is out with some fixes.

Since the wiki is out of date I will also post the pokemon.txt and encounters.txt PBS files if anyone wants them as a guide or if they want to help update the wiki.

pokemon.txt:
https://pastebin.com/G3kAhUxk
encounters.txt:
https://pastebin.com/AHSAz2xV
trainers.txt:
https://pastebin.com/5tSmVCJz

I'll help update the wiki myself sometime next month when I have time. I don't work on the wiki much because I'm usually spending more time working on the game itself.

Hi! I'm an artist and would like to know if you want help with doing some art for the Pokemon in your game. I noticed while searching them on Google images that they didn't have much art other than the pixel avatars and promotional art.

New update. Fixed some bugs reported in the thread and animated a lot of sprites that weren't before.

What did you use the make this, meaning did you use essentials 17.2 or did you use BW essentials or did you grab scripts from BW essentials and put it in essentials?

The current version is using Essentials 16. I'm in the process of upgrading to Essentials 17.2. Any scripts that resemble BW are separate.

How can I 'hop' by using acro bike? In other words, how does the acro bike operate for several obstacles?

I hate to nitpick but if you're going to force the player to get the egg after the first gym it would be nice to have the egg have a reduced hatching time since you are unlikely to have a bike at this point of the game and none of the pokemon available at current have flame body or magma armor to cut the hatch time in half.

Drabi's long hatching time was done on purpose (some minor details are random), most likely because that egg is a pseudo legendary Pokémon. You don't need to use it, but if you want to use something this Strong, might as well work for it. It Will probably hatch earlier, but Flame Body is the signature ability of Burspine, which can be obtained in the mines after your 2nd badge.

Not necessarily what I ment, but it doesn't matter I got all I need anyhow

I love this game! It looks so polished even so early on, what amazing graphics. All the animations are so well-done and charming. I've been having a lot of fun, and the plot seems interesting so far. I was genuinely surprised a few times at the turns it took. I adore so many of the pokemon, it was hard to decide on a team. So many great dragons- too bad about the ice... I love Aychem, even though I'm not using it for battle. It's such a novel idea. The fact there are smashable objects other than rocks and different trees to cut is such a neat detail.

I wish Vampichir had the Bloodsucker ability.

But I have to say I really don't like the way the game is difficult. Don't get me wrong - I love difficult games, like Glazed or Reborn, but Spectrum is different. The exp system combined with wild pokemon levels being far below yours means grinding is nearly impossible, and it seems like trainers always have pokemon at or above my level - and evolved. Somehow they also always hit me harder than I hit them. The length and labirynthine nature of nearly all routes and caves makes backtracking very tedious, and I found myself HAVING to backtrack after every trainer battle. Over and over. It's just not fun.

Mojave Jungle is especially dreadful. It's only frustrating to be unavoidably shot poison at from off the screen over and over. I was so relieved to see that doctor NPC only to find out he would not heal me, and I ragequit at that point.

The fact that you can't buy Parlyz Heals or Revives is... confusing. Make them much more expensive if you must, but being forced to go back to a city every time I get Thunderwaved is purely annoying.

Anyway, thank you for making the game, I love it a lot, despite the teeth-grinding.

Not to mention you're basically forced to catch Pilove and evolve it to its final form if you want a chance at the first gym, and somehow that level 12 Drygon has dragon breath already.

Just started playing this game, so far so good.
I am currently in the forest, and I gotta say that right now, you can't walk on the bridges, you walk under them.
