You'll have to raise it's happiness to max, and then show it to the karate master in Darkoal.

See above.

No, since this is a decomp hack, the old emerald cheats will not work. When the game gets re-compiled, it moves data around to make room for anything that's added.
If you try using emerald cheats, then you'll just be changing random game data.
To get cheats that work, one would have to figure out what data the old codes are pointing to in the original emerald file, and then find that same data in the new game, which also probably will change every time I change anything and re-compile the game.

Yes, there's a move relearner in Ecruteak.
I actually thought it was at max happiness, but it didn't seem so. Guess a tiny little bit was missing. 😂
What level does Raikou have while roaming across the Johto region?

That's weird, the phone call is part of the same event as the gold battle.
The phone call is Falkner saying he's back at his gym and ready for a rematch. I guess you can see if he's there.
I immediately remembered the second i posted the comment, sorry about that i just was busy mulling over my gold win

You need an item called trade stone. I only got one so far, don't really remember where but I'm thinking it was the most accessible parts of Mt Mortar, I'm pretty sure you can't buy them in Goldenrod but it's worth checking out the mall in any case.
Only one? Dang, but good to know that it is there in any case.

Can you share, or have already shared, the list of gym leaders/E4/Champion type specialties? It would be a huge help to know in advance what kind of Pokémon i need to train, given how the grind in this rom has been a lot, especially because I need to grind new pokemon on wild Pokémon, cause a single super effective Pokémon isn't enough to beat the leaders. I'm going for the electric gym next and a single Graveler isn't gonna cut it I just know it.
Chanseys/Audinos to beat or an infinite rare candy item or a just a good old lucky egg would do wonders here.

Since it's a sequel, with new story, and even whole new parts of the map (and beautifully redesigned Johto at that) what I really want is get through the story. But the grind has been just annoying, sped up emulation can only do so much to help it.
Flying, Fairy, Normal, Water, Electric, Fighting, Ice and Dragon are the gyms

Intro
Hey, it's been a while. I'm sure nobody expected to see me again.
In my typical fashion, I've kept the development of this game well hidden. Nevertheless, this is a complete game with 8 badges, and plenty of post game content. This is not a remake of Gold and Silver, but a sequel with an entirely new story.
Fair warning – The gym leaders use items and some setup moves making this game moderately difficult, but not impossible. If you defeat all available trainers before each gym, and use a little strategy, you should be fine.

Hope you all enjoy it!

Bugs
- Game freezes after falling down with Oliver in the Ruins of Alph: Fixed in v1.1 patch
- Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Voltorb currently don't evolve. Fixed in v1.1 patch
- Galarian Weezing (maybe others too?) seems to break double battles a little (the sprites will flip around some, not game breaking, but looks funny)
- Mega evolution symbol will stay on screen after the mega pokémon has fainted sometimes. Goes away after battle, or if you view your other pokémon
- In the multi double battles, if all of your teammate's pokémon faint, it may not let you switch
- Galarian Yamask can't currently evolve to Runerigus. Fixed and re-uploaded v1.2 patch 7/3/24 (Galarian Yamask just needs to sustain 49+ damage in battle, uses max HP - current HP formula).

Download
Current version attached below as a zipped UPS patch. Apply to a clean Pokémon Emerald rom, Emerald (U) (TrashMan) using NUPS patcher preferably.

If you are on an older patch, you should be able to keep your save file!
Make sure to keep your .sav file, and replace the .gba file with a new one that was patched to a clean emerald rom. Also make sure the new .gba file has the same name as the old one.
(re-uploaded 1.1 in case your save doesn't carry over)

v1.2 patch
- Raises wild pokémon levels for easier grinding and team building
- Nerfed 2nd gym leader some

- Add macho brace
- Fix bike shop glitch (if you don't have enough money)
- Makes first Lazulan cutscene unskippable
- More tile fixes

v1.1 patch
- Fixes Oliver battle glitch
- Gives Hisuian Voltorb and Zorua evolutions
- Makes fossils key items
- A couple of tile fixes.
Hey while Toucannon uses blast beak, and the enemy Pokemon makes contact, getting burned in the process, that Burn status doesn't show up next to the enemy Pokemon's name. Weird little thing I noticed. Amazing game so far. Can't wait till ability change mechanic gets added.

Uhm, Hello. I want to start by saying this is a great romhack with a promising concept and good story, but i really need to point out how horrible trying to grind is, for a game with harder and more dynamic gym leaders, where it is incentivized to change your team to deal with fights, It becomes incredibly mind numbing trying to grind up a single Pokémon to the level cap, i think a form of facilitaded grinding available during the entire game would be a great addition, due to that allowing for better teambuilding.
Thanks, and what is facilitated grinding?
I'm not completely against making the exp share work like in gen 6, but it will just be a lot of work to update the levels of all trainers and wild pokemon since you'll gain exp at a different rate.

Great game! I just got the 8th badge and am enjoying the story.

Has anyone come across a move - relearner? I found a few tutors but was wondering if there the typical heat scale / relearn trade off
The move relearner is in Ecruteak, and he just wants money.

Finished the Elite 4 the first time, and I have explored most of the post game! I am having trouble finding Kyogre and I have checked the underwater dive spots where it is raining wildly on the sea to Goldenrod.. Also, it says you can talk to the old man in Apricotta Beach after one win of the E4 and you get Deoxys? He just says beat them again on mine.. Help?
You're definitely on the correct route for Kyogre. The cave entrance is a little tricky to get to, you'll have to make your way through the rapids to reach a dive spot that's hard to get to.
If you're told to beat the E4 again, then Birth Island should already be available. You just have to talk to the ship captain in the harbor in either Olivine or Apricotta.

So, currently loving this romhack, but I had a question. I currently have a girdurr that is level 32 in my team and was wondering what needed to be done to evolve it. (in version 1.1 if that is needed.) On if it is level up or some item like how some trade evolutions have a link stone/ trade cables.
You'll need a Trade Stone. I believe the first one available is in Ice Path, in the upper part of the first ice puzzle.

Hey, no I didn't get that message, I'm using VBA-M so I think it should be all good. I mistakenly thought the time in the trainer card was the in game time and not play time lol. Still haven't evolved rockruff but at least ik what to do now! Only annoying thing is having to go back to cherrygrove (i dont have fly yet) to check the clock lol. Love the rom hack otherwise, super well made big props.
Yup, makes sense.
You know, I really would like to add a sort of digital clock to the menu screen or somewhere if even possible.
And thanks!

The event happened like normal I guess spoke with Oliver and all thing is that the notebook stays in the bag and the MC receives no HM at all.
That's a really weird one, I'm pretty stumped. It's just a simple "giveitem" and "removeitem", and since you have the notebook, you can definitely receive items.

I actually thought it was at max happiness, but it didn't seem so. Guess a tiny little bit was missing. 😂
What level does Raikou have while roaming across the Johto region?
Raikou is at lv45, and stick to Johto routes. I usually go between Route 36 and 37 if I'm trying to lure it out.

Where can I catch a the Pokemon the boy in Cianwood City is asking for his Riolu ?
It's in the Safari Zone, in the bottom right area.

They have no plans for thise mechanics
I'll actually try implementing the reusable TMs this weekend, and see if I run across any issues.
I tried way back when I first started making this game, but had some kind of issue. I just can't remember what it was since it's been so long lol.

By facilitated grinding i mean either: an easy and renewable source of EXP candies (you could argue the mushroom guy fullfills that but considering hidden mushrooms are finite and paras mushrooms only give xs candies i don't think it's too useful) or an infinitely rematchable npc that gives a good ammount of EXP, Sorry for not making that clear

I thought reusable tm's was already in. On one save I am on gym 5 and all of my tm's are reusable and have been for some time, but on another save earlier in the game with only 2 tm's gained they are one time use, either I found some bug or something between these two points makes tm's reusable.

My main issue so far is the bag size, I ran out of space pre 4th gym and it is a hassle using the pc when I don't know how much space I need to keep open in my bag.

Otherwise I am mostly enjoying the hack, only other complaint is we could use better options for grinding exp, leveling new Pokémon for gyms/boss fight is currently really slow.

Edit: Found the trigger for the reusable tm's, the event in Ilex forest after obtaining gym badge 2 seems to cause it.

Double Edit: The effect only lasts until the game is reset via soft reset or otherwise loaded from a save, the effect persists through save states, seemingly indefinitely unless some future event stops it.

Ur welcome 😎 A digital clock would definitely be nice, sounds tricky to implement I'd imagine you'd have to do it all from scratch and I'm sure there's other issues too lol. Would be cool tho!

After chasing it across the whole Johto region, I finally encountered it on Route 38. 😂
Also, are Groudon and Kyogre supposed to stay permanently in their Primal reversed formes? I took their respective Orbs from them to see if they actually revert back to their normal formes, but nope, still Primal.
