[Completed] Pokémon Tectonic

This game is not suitable for someone looking for a casual play through since battles take too long as npc's keep switching pokemon in and out and with the amount of battles unless you are perfect at predicting and have full knowledge of all the new type changes and moves this playthrough can become annoying real fast. The plot and graphics and fakemon as well as certain features arefun and intuitive.

The third patch of 3.1 is now ready to download through the Tectonic Updater.

You can also download the full version manually here.
Or just the modified files here.

Patch 3.1.3 is a moderately sized patch:
  • Added a new hints system to the Condensed Lights quest
  • Reduced the amount of EXP gained from Valentina's collection rewards
  • Made the trainers of the Eleig Stretch significantly easier, to ease difficulty curve issues at that point in the game
  • Split Prizca Sewers West into two separate maps
  • Added "Perfect Fight" and "Cursed" icons to team snapshots for easier bragging

Not too far into the game yet, but already one of my favourite pokemon experiences! I was interested mostly for the pokemon rebalancing stuff as I love the idea of every mon being more viable to use and I love how unique each mon feels now. Outside of that the sheer amount of QoL stuff is well thought out. The MasterDex is my favourite new QoL tool, and I'm glad you can use it while battling, checking your party mons, etc. As someone who uses fast forwarding constantly on emulators, I'm surprised I didn't really notice the absense after I started playing! Great work!

I've had a quite good time with this game and had a lot of friendly chats with the devs. This project is an accomplishment you should all feel proud of. Tons of new moves and abilities are my favorite kind of content! Long live Pidgeot!

How do you level up new low level pokemon? Im around half a game i think, want to train new pokemon but most strainers are gone,

wont lie i cant beat the final area and i might give up idk if they just went full on difficult for this final area but i aint beating it. great game from what i beat though

I think your definition of "strict level caps" and ours must be different. The game has a level cap system that is unique to it, I've never seen anything similar in another fangame.

There's an item that you get on the first route that turns "wasted" exp (EXP a pokemon would have gained but for being at the level cap) into Exp Candies that you can distribute between your pokemon as you see fit.
Our players regularly raise 10-20 Pokemon at the same time because of this and our other EXP changes.
no, people use the term for both.
I am sure Strict Level Cap means you can't level up your pokemon past a strict set level cap. In the case of this game, you get a strict level cap at the very beginning; it being level 15 until you defeat the gym leader.

Don't suppose anyone knows where to find Gleam Powder in the current version, do they? I'm trying to go for that one achievement, and already caught a Skitty affectionately named "!@#$ You," to really sell the point home to Zain, and I don't really want to spend 300,000 Pokedollars on that one lady's offer for a Shiny Skitty, because I don't wanna part with my Slowpoke Tail -- it's special... 7-7

Okay, um...bit of an update. Following the discovery of the Black Market and an hour of repeatedly mugging the rival girl for the money I needed to afford it, I got a Shiny Skitty, and....this...this doesn't look like it should have happened.

The game crashed immediately after.
Loaded back up and it placed me right before the fight. That's a shame.

The error happened again. Seems to be repeatable.

Perhaps it's only supposed to work if you use the Ranger Station Lady's Skitty? Using Gleam Powder to make my own was 20,000 Pokedollars cheaper. Either way, I...guess this is a bug-report?

It pains me, but I might just have to move on without the achievement. I've already well-and-away missed the quota for the 10-hour and below achievement, meaning 100% is already out of sight...

I think I found another glitch, relating to Buzzwole. Since both it and my Pokemon are dealing 1 damage each and every turn.

Its ability does seem to have something to do with damage-reduction, but this doesn't really seem...intentional...

EDIT: Okay, yeah, it's definitely the ability. I managed to whittle its health down with Wyrmwounding's Leech effect, and all moves started dealing more damage
...Shame it can't learn Spikes or Stealth Rock. It'd be a pretty good setup Pokemon if it could.

I just started
Did I just full-odds a shiny on the first encounter of the game? Or is this scripted?
