if ur talking about wat u said to me aka. viridian forest being destroyed etc.
then i would most probably think not, because it will be based of the anime, and not the games. correct me if im wrong

and thank you captain

the subject for the last few days has been mostly chit chat, so I thought of something: how will the changes from red/blue/yellow to gold/silver/crystal be incorporated? the changes supposedly happened over a three year period, but such a preiod of time most likely wouldn't happen, so how, or even will, they be incorporated?
Well maps are going to expanded anyways, so we'd have plenty of room to include the changes introduced in the three-year time period jump in the official games, if they are included at all.

But, I wouldn't be to surprised to see some things make a return, like the Kanto Radio Tower or the Kanto Safari zone.

As for the issue of the major changes to the Official games, like the Viridian forest, this is where we fall back on to the anime rather than the games. We aren't attempting to emulate either the games or the anime, but take what we want from both and also include our own ideas. If you get to legalistic about this sort of thing, you'd be Nintendo.

So, I was wondering about the battle system, basically the idea is to make it an ATB?

In a sense, as attacks will become more and more powerful as you use them, but still keeping that classic Pokemon Battle Feel.

yeah, ur probably right, nintendo didn't do their best work when they made those changes. The only way I think it would be possible to do that would be that when the player goes to jhoto, something happens (probably cinnabar island erupring) to stop the player from returning to kanto from any direction until the player has gone through the jhoto plot, and by that time, the changes would have happened to kanto.
the ash from the eruption of cinnabar island would fly over viridian forrest and kill most of the plants. some ash also flies over the safari zone, destroying the ecosystem therefore putting it under renovations and the few pokemon left from the safari zone escaped to various areas. The legendary birds had already left before to go to the orange islands. had to make a subway to get to the area because the volcano shifted the land.
stuff like that.

Wow i read this and it was literally like my once completely hopeless dreams of such a pokemon game smacked me in the face and said i'm possible. You guys are truly doing something amazing and i wish you Captain Arcanine and your team the best of luck with this. Not only is it excellent with the feel of the games, but it does have a realistic feel to it as well, one that reminds me of the anime. The maps and all of your work is just breathtaking. Keep at it! Nintendo would do well to put into their games some of what you guys are doing!

this game is looking great. i love every aspect about it.
Ps. i also enjoyed your response to that article about u and your game. I thought you would be very angry but you managed to see "up" side in the article.

Not exactly.... What exactly it will be is still being discussed, we're hoping that it will seem original, while still having a pokemon feel to it.

Alright cool, that's just what it sounded like on the drawing board, I just had to ask beacuse that would make using Snorlax against Ninjask or something fast like that really suck because they'd get in like 5 attacks for every one of yours (and Speed Boost would make Ninjask the meanest pokemon ever).

yeah, but ninjask would probably be weaker as a result, to become more balanced. i'm sure that they're thinking of stuff like that.

Ya but still would be really annoying to fight with that many attacks, it like double team then toxic or something and keep boosting its evasion.

thats another reason to highten your pokemons level

also to increase speed by using items and getting faster pokemon to take with you and to get tactical with what moves you use
this will also put a much more trivial matter to which starter u pick. do u want speed over power ect.

We may have to limit how far enhancing moves can go though, just for the reasons stated above. :|

Ninjask would be a god D:

See, but you're only focusing on only one aspect. Everything is getting "upgraded." A strong offense is a good defense, just because a Pokémon can attack you fast, that doesn't mean it will win. Now of course, their will be more things that can play into "who can attack first" but overall, speed will determine if you will attack first or not. It's as simple as that.

Using speed to charge a bar to attack will result in a faster pokemon getting more attacks, to make up for this, perhaps we'll have to make high strength have more of an effect.

why not give attacks drasticly different speeds. special attacks that do damage could be relativly slow attacks

also stronger and higher leveled pokemon could have higher endurance and the speed bar would last longer

do you mean that the stronger the move the slower.

yes he does mean that BTW
but some exceptions will be made most probably
i mean if things that are really strong like slash or something similar, it wouldn't make sense to be slow

Why not also take into account the Pokémon's weight and height? It has played only a minor part in previous games, and could be something well worth looking into.

Perhaps something like... the bigger and heavy a pokemon is, the more powerful it's attack will be, however it wont attack often, but a small agile pokémon's attack will be not very powerful but may be able to have 2 attacks in place of the heavy pokémon's one turn.
