OOC: Hmm, if I remember correctly, I was supposed to be notified when Lupin can re-enter the Space-Plant... I'm not sure, so to be on the safe side I'll just continue on with Kelsey for now.
(Haha, I knew having a second character was a good idea--that way I can keep this RPG going even if I don't know what to do with my other character!)

"Oh, it always will. That Celia told me herself. The curse was intended to be permanent, and it was meant to make you stronger."
What Banette had just said got Kelsey thinking for a while.
Come to think of it, Celia did say something similar to that on her deathbed. I still remember the days when I felt helpless, tormented, haunted by the curse. I think at times I still do, but to a milder degree because now I know why the curse is with me.
Kelsey then reached into her small black packpack and took out what looked like a card holder. Inside it was her old POCE identification card, from the days when she too was a POCE soldier. Perhaps her boss had forgotten to ask her to return this card. Anyways, Kelsey stared at this card for a while, and as she did, thoughts of Lupin resurfaced in her mind. For a fleeting moment, she even regretted quitting POCE out of sheer disappointment with her separation from Lupin in this mission.
<"What's that?"> Hypno broke the silence. She was pointing to something nearly invisible that was hovering in the air. It looked like a camera.
Surprised, Kelsey hastily stashed the ID card back into her backpack.
"Oh no, I think this means Pine is spying on us! Or someone is... Quick, someone destroy it!!
<"I'll do it!">
With that, Ninetales blew a Flamethrower at the camera, causing it to spark and fall to the ground. But after that, three more cameras flew out to meet them, starting to focus their watch on Kelsey and her Pokemon.
"Now we have three more! Anyone else?"
Ninetales scorched another camera with another flame, but Banette and Hypno also had to join in on the act. So Banette blasted apart the second camera with a Shadow Ball, and Hypno crushed the third with Psychic.
"Whew, that was a..."
Kelsey spoke too soon, for three more cameras were headed her way. This time, the three Pokemon that had destroyed the other cameras tried something different. Ninetales made a huge dent in one camera with Faint Attack, causing it to malfunction. Banette sizzled the second camera with Will-O-Wisp. Hypno shattered the third with a Focus Punch.
"Okay, now that that's over..."
Kelsey, who was already facing the tunnel ahead, beckoned her Pokemon to follow as she walked down the tunnel. But she took no more than a few paces before the sound of Pokeball beams approached her.
"What the...!!"
Kelsey looked behind her and saw that her Pokemon were all gone! Somehow they had been automatically returned to their Pokeballs. For a moment Kelsey stood there, wondering how such a thing could have happened. But it didn't take too long for the answer to come to her: a red light shone from the dented camera that had been attacked by Ninetales. The camera's film carrier was broken so that it couldn't take any pictures, but it was still able to hover, and worse, it was still able to see and shoot lasers. For at that point it fired a set of lasers that enclosed Kelsey like a net. The laser beams then began to move towards her.
Ohh, if it can't take pictures, I guess it has no choice but to destroy me instead! How in the world do I get out of this...?
An idea quickly came to her: a Pokemon! With that, Kelsey stuck her arm out of the barred cage, and pressed the button on Hypno's Pokeball. But the Pokeball failed to open. Surprised, Kelsey took back the Pokeball, realizing that maybe the camera disabled the Pokeballs, preventing the Pokemon inside from escaping. Indeed, if there was anything Kelsey hated, it was losing the help of what she cared about the most: her Pokemon. Not only that, she was weaponless as well (a wish that she could borrow Lupin's weapon, Volbeat's Nightmare, flitted through her mind), and the lasers were closing in on her fast.
Thinking quickly, Kelsey found a rock lying on the ground near one of the laser beams. This she slid over till it was right underneath the laser beam--it started to warm up when that happened. Then she picked the rock up, so that the laser beam stopped upon hitting it and there was an opening underneath it. Therefore, Kelsey raised the increasingly hotter rock till it was over her head, and then she ran out through the opening, dropping the rock like a hot potato as she went.
Not surprisingly, the camera chased after Kelsey as she ran as fast as she possibly could through the tunnel. Even though the camera's movement was slowed by the dent Ninetales made in it, she still had to stay at top speed all the time in order to keep away from it. Kelsey didn't know where the camera was because she didn't have time to look back, but in actuality the distance between her and the camera was steadily growing. Far ahead was the entrance to another cavern. However, Kelsey's hopes of reaching that cavern were quickly extinguished. As it turned out, the camera shot out another series of laser beams, which formed a fence that blocked that entrance.
Oh no, now I'm trapped...
But not for long. For when Kelsey looked to her left, she saw another tunnel, a more jagged one, that led onward and then started to curve upward. Instinctively, Kelsey ran down this tunnel, the camera still following her. As she continued on, she passed by a few laser posts, and the tunnel got steeper and steeper, until she thought that she would not be able to climb the tunnel anymore. Forced to give up that option, she turned around and saw the camera coming at her.
Oh wait--here's an idea!
As the camera moved sharply upward, Kelsey jumped and landed on it. The camera was barely able to support her weight, and only slowed down a little bit as it continued its ascent up the tunnel. Apparently its only sense was sight, so it didn't even notice someone standing on it. Rather, it thought Kelsey had somehow gone further up in the tunnel. So the camera continued to unsuspectedly carry Kelsey up in the tunnel, which appeared to have been recently dug out by something. Its carver would have had to be big though, perhaps as big as a Steelix.
The tunnel continued upward for quite a ways until it reached another cavern. At this point, Kelsey was kneeling down and holding onto the top of the camera in order to keep her balance. Anyways, at the cavern, the tunnel stopped going up and instead went forward. Then after a while it went down for a little ways, then turned left. And finally, it went up again. This time, Kelsey could see a light above her--indicating that she was finally going to escape the underground world she had been in!
The camera exited the tunnel and ended up back in the jungle. Up ahead, the path continued on until it reached a tree that was up against a cliff. There were footsteps on the path, apparently belonging to some sort of large Pokemon. Perhaps it, too, had been running from cameras. Anyways, after the camera exited the tunnel, it floated up a ways, then did something unexpected: it tilted upward. Kelsey was still holding onto the camera and thus didn't fall off, but unfortunately the camera saw her at last. For a brief moment, Kelsey was face-to face with the camera, which glowed a bright red. Then it flipped upside-down and shot a laser beam at her. This beam shot Kelsey high into the air.
Kelsey landed at the top of the cliff. At that point she was scorched thanks to the laser beam, exhausted thanks to running from the camera, and in pain thanks to falling hard on the ground. She really wanted to just lie there, but the sight of the camera behind her was a perfect reason for her to spring back to her feet, and continue running along the path.
Up ahead were a series of fifteen or so laser fences that were moving left and right across the path. They were taller than Kelsey, so she knew she would be unable to jump over them. Instead, she slowed down a little bit, and managed to run around the left side of the first fence. Then she waited a moment for the second fence to move over so that she could run past it. Then she looked behind her--the camera was closing in on her.
If I keep waiting for these fences to move, that camera will get to me for sure... Ohh, if I still had either fully functioning Pokeballs or telekinesis, this would be a whole lot easier... Instead, I doubt if I'll make it out alive!
Kelsey's only choice was to keep running at the fast pace she had been going at the start of this chase. So she did so, focusing all her attention on the fences ahead of her. Two down, thirteen to go. This time, Kelsey weaved between the fences rather than waiting for them to move in one direction. For the first few fences, she nearly lost her balance or touched the fences as she jumped around them, but at least she was going past them faster than before. She eventually passed fence number 10, 11, 12, 13, 14...
ZAP! Kelsey collided with the last fence, which stunned her for a moment. Kelsey got up again, feeling as if she was on fire. Nevertheless, she barely managed to run ahead of the laser cage the camera was setting up for her, and continued along the path.
After a while, the path curved to the right and started to slope downward. There were laser posts sticking out of the ground along this path, but these didn't move around like the fences did. So Kelsey was able to dodge them a little more easily. However, all the pain and exhaustion was beginning to get to her, and she didn't know how much longer she could just continue running like this. She hoped beyond all hope that the path would end soon, that there would be something promising up ahead...
After Kelsey got past the posts, the path evened out, and the end of the jungle looked to be close. Finally! Kelsey even smiled at this sight for a moment. To an even greater convenience, there was a body of water up ahead. This wasn't too much of an obstacle--she could just as easily swim across, and the water would provide great relief from her burns. With that knowledge, Kelsey ran ahead, not really caring what happened as long as she could reach the water. But even better, behind her, the camera itself was starting to disintegrate. It too had begun to realize the damage that was done to it. Eventually, although Kelsey didn't see it, the camera fell apart and landed on the ground.
Finally, Kelsey was almost at the water. She thought she could see a group of people standing at the edge of the water, but she didn't pay much attention to them. Rather, she just dashed towards the end of the path, still running away from the camera that she didn't even know was no longer there. Yet still, tears of joy filled Kelsey's eyes as she made it to the end of the jungle, and especially since she could now spot a building up ahead that could possibly where Pine was hiding. With that, she reached the end of the path, ignorant of the group standing all around, and leaped into the water.
But much to Kelsey's demise, the water had somehow been filled with electricity. Kelsey, therefore, was electrocuted the instant she fell in the water.
