I have always wondered why there has yet to be a Pok?mon MMORPG, I mean to me its one of the few games that could become an MMORPG with ease.

The only possible problem I could see if such a game were made it would be in collecting the legendary Pok?mon of whatever region the game is based in but I think if they made them hard enough to get it make it fine so that at least every person playing wouldn't have a Zapdos or Ho-oh.

So what do you all think of Pok?mon being made into a MMORPG?

I personally think it be great, of course some liberties have to be taken to make it an MMORPG but I think if done right it do well.

What is an MMORPG? I've never heard of it before.

Maybe that answers my question as maybe the reason they haven't made one is because a large portion of the fan base is young and not as into MMORPG's.

As for your answer, MMORPG stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. It's when ton's of people get online to play a game with each other. Look up World of Warcraft for an example of such.

Ok. Thanx. And, yes I am one of the young fans as I am 11 (Ok, maybe I'm not as young as I thought)

I don't think Nintendo/Game Freak has all the technology yet. They may also be working on some sort of story for it. However, I think the major reason why there isn't one is because they are afraid of breaking tradition. They want to keep the style of the Pokemon games at the same. Even though Colosseum and XD are sort of different, they still have the same battling system and leveling up and stuff. There might be other reasons why there isnt a MMORPG yet.

I think after seeing the Nintendo Revolution controller we can say there not too afraid of change.

But its possible that has something to do with it but like I said if Pok?mon was made into an MMORPG it wouldn't dramitically change things too much I think so if there afraid of breaking the mold they really won't.

Pokemon as an MMORPG? It could be a good ... but having it PC based instead of console based is a better idea.
Then again, Netbattle is a Pokemon MMORPG in a way, and it already fulfils your battling needs. What more do you want for an online competitive Pokemon game? Playing as a proper and real RPG, you DO know that it'd need EXTREMELY fast internet connections? It isn't really a good idea for homeplaying then.

Netbattle does fulfill battling needs amongst fellow players of the game series but if Pok?mon was an MMORPG you have that plus all the other stuff you do in Pok?mon. So you be exploring various lands, talk to people, get items, raise your Pok?mon and so on. Now you do get that same stuff from the current Pok?mon games but if it was in 3D in be much better like how the Zelda Series got way better when it moved into the 3D realm.

All in all I think Pok?mon as an MMORPG would be a great thing assuming they did it right.

As for the internet connection needs, anyone who plays MMORPG's would be aware so its not like they buy the game and realize they need an upgrade, besides nowadays people should get upgraded anyway.

3D = Colosseum and Colosseum 2 XD Gale of Darkness. See how WEIRD it is? And besides, if you want a 3D game with more activities and things to do, you can expect something coming for the Nintendo Revolution console when it comes out.
Now then. Loading a 3D Pokemon games .. maybe in Flash or something. Still you don't know how long it takes for certain connections (e.g. mine) take to load even small Flash MMORPG games like Gaia Online.
However, if you make in MMORPG based on text databases, like Ragnarok online or some of those .. or Kings of Chaos, the game would simply SUCK and it won't be fun at ALL to play. D=

Ya those games are 3D but there not a true Pok?mon game experiences with the whole 'snagging' that's going on as a true Pok?mon game experience would be getting a starter, going around a region catching and raising Pok?mon and so on.

As for the Nintendo Revolution, I haven't heard anything when it comes to that, have you?

And like I said anyone purchasing a game that's an MMORPG would know the kind of connection and system needed therefore wouldn't be unprepared.

Eh, you have the GB series for that, and MAYBE, who knows, Diamond and Pearl might have that. But you can expect something like that, or at least a few Pokemon titles to be in the list of the Revolution's games.

The Nintendo Revolution is apparently coming out sometime late 2006.

An MMORPG game that you purchase? Eh well.. why not. Look, gameplay will have to be SO SMOOTH when you're against tons of other players, you'll need fast internet connections to keep up with them. The loading times and all that can be probably taken care of. But well, you can guess HOW STUPID the DialUp version of the game can be, to suit slow connections = Worst quality graphics.
