Well, for one, every year, in December, a disease strikes the city, killing all adults. As a result, no adults live there and they don't even have political power. There's a gym, where the leaders use grass and fire types. The HQ of Team Ralsht, the good 'team' in Kojen, is in the Uncharted Region near Crystal City. The city is surrounder by the Red Sand Desert, which helps keep the disease from spreading.
