Hello all
As those on the discord are aware, we've been mulling over running some TCG tournaments for the community for a while. Before I go any further with it I'd like to gauge where players on the community sit with it all. I appreciate that some of you prefer/only play Pocket. I am happy to sort out tournaments for Pocket, but it does raise some challenges that we do not have via Live. Namely prizing.
It has always been agreed that pack codes would be the prizing for any TCGLive tournament(s) on PC, I've stockpiled quite a few from packs and some of the discord users have kindly donated to the prize pool. This doesn't really work for Pocket since there's no way to redeem the codes on there. I'm sure we can get some custom badges thrown together for bragging rights, but I'd like to hear other ideas for prizing.
I'm not sure how practical it is or how the rest of the staff will react to this particular idea, but I would be happy to offer up physical cards as prizing (i'd cover postage within reason) but the issue with this is the sharing of personal data. But if physical prizing is something that would get people playing I am happy to talk to the other staff members and see if something could be figured out.
This thread is an open discussion and I encourage you to make any suggestions or raise any questions here. We have an opportunity to grow our community with this.
