Now that Diamond and Pearl are only weeks away, I think it is about time that we have something like this set up. Chances are, most of the people reading this are able to link up wirelessly, and if not, you can still cheer on the players!
So, I was thinking of having a tournament with X number of people. Whoever wins the first round of battles goes on, until we have the Champion. ^_^
One of the problems I see with this is that I don't believe anyone other than the two participants can actually see what is going on, allowing cheaters to have a field day. So we'd need a level of trust between members. That said, I think it would be doable.
Other than that, here are a few rules I made up myself. Subject to change if I get a crowd of members wanting it as such. =P
PC WiFi Tournament Rules
1. You must have either Diamond or Pearl, with WiFi capabilities to enter. Apologies in advance for those of you outside North America & Japan.
2. You must have a team of six Pokemon, not including legendaries.
3. Any Items will be allowed.
4. Since all WiFi battles allow you to choose Pokemon levels, all battles should be held at level 50, to allow even-footing.
5. Specific battles will be chosen randomly, and will be posted here on a set day. Another set day, a DQ time as we like to call it, will be given, and I'd ask all results to be posted here before this time.
6. This before-mentioned process will repeat until we have one person left! This person will be declared the winner, and will have their name at the top of this post for all eternity! Also, they will be allowed to jump a round in future competitions and/or use a free pass to allow them to stay in the tournament after one loss. (negotiable)
Now, the rule I must add, and that I hope will never have to be enforced:
If two people finish a battle with conflicting stories, BOTH will be disqualified. Furthermore, if later on the identity of the untruthful individual is found out, he or she will be banned from all future tournaments.
So, I'm hoping we can get enough participants, so this can actually happen! Just post here saying you'd like to get added to the list, and, by the time the games come out, we should have these rules down pat. Suggestions to improve are always welcome, by the way.
That said, behold! The list:
Tournament Participants
Alakazam17
Trainer Kat
Empires228
Kratos_rage
Ichida
The Deadline to enter the first Tournament will be May 1st, 2007. After this time pairings will be decided, and your battles can begin!
