Hi, so I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to add cries to the game. I've been following the tutorial to add new Pokemon species here: https://github.com/rh-hideout/pokeemerald-expansion/wiki/How-to-add-a-new-Pokémon-species

However, when I try to build and make sure things work, I get the following error:

I have no idea what "chunk at 0x1270b reached end of file before finishing" means in this case. If it helps, I did convert the .aif file from a .wav, so could that have had something to do with it? Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated. I'll provide other info if it's needed as well.

Did you make sure to make the .aif file was PCM 8-bit and mono channeled? Missing those two qualities when creating the file can cause issues when trying to build the rom.

I tried converting the .wav again using those settings, and I still seem to get the same exact error, just a different chunk this time (0x9395 in my case). For reference, are these the correct settings I should be using?

EDIT: I also just tried matching the 10512 Hz that Pokemon cries are on Sample Rate just to see if that changed anything, and I still got the error too 😭

EDIT 2: I FIGURED IT OUT!! Turns out, it most likely had to do with the software I was using to convert. After swapping over to Audacity (which I forgot I still had lol) and trying the same thing, it successfully built, and the cry works as intended! Thanks a bunch for the tips, that helped me out a ton!
