    (Work in Progress)

    Opening Day!!

Closed for years, the National Pokemon Academy sat ruined, the dusty shell of a once great academy. Due to recent technologies such as the Pokedex and Pokenav, most trainers needed little education, which they were able to get from their region's Pokemon school. The Serei (name isn't final yet) region was soon under-populated, and soon forgotten by most people. A travelling man by the name of Arden Nix, saw the ruins while travelling, and bought the run down building. He wanted to create strong trainers, but knew that attracting new students would be difficult. He found teachers who would not only teach the basics of being a Pokemon Trainer, but would also teach many to become a Pokemon Breeder, Ranger, or even the newly popularized Contest Star. He expanded the building, being quite rich, and opened the doors to trainers from all regions, from all places. Legends would be made here, and it all starts with you.

Such is the topic of a Pokemon MMO that I'm working on, a project that though being grand in nature, will also be one of the funnest and most interactive games out there. It's appeal lies in the fact that it is MMO, and it will also allow the player to create a character that is exactly how they want it. Will you choose to be a valiant Ranger, working to keep Pokemon and Humans in balance, or learn the best way to wow the crowd at the local Super Contest? It's up to you, and the Pokemon Academy aims to deliver.

Graphics for the game are unavaible, but it will be using RPG Maker XP and the Pokemon Essentials kit, with some changes. All students will be issued a PDA, which serves as their main menu. It will allow them to keep track of many things such as their Pokemon, their friends, various class schedules, their Pokedex, and many, many, many more functions. Being an MMO, various updates will be avaible that will make sure the player always has something to do, whether it be the release of the next gen of Pokemon or a new class. Players will be able to choose to be one of the four kinds of students, with various stories depending on their choice.

Pokemon Trainer: This is the most common path for a new student to choose. Students will enlist the help of breeders (discussed soon) and their teachers to take a team they have raised to challenge local gyms, and eventually the Elite Four. The teachers in the game will offer many roles to a Trainer, as each will specialize in a type of Pokemon and will give advice to the trainer, as well as battle practice. These trainers are frequent and can be found challenging many trainers in the field, attracted to the region by the new school.

Pokemon Ranger: The path of a Ranger is very difficult, as personal skill as well as Pokemon skill will need to be developed. The Ranger will develop a bond with a special partner Pokemon, and will assist people all over the region with various troubles. They are able to participate in Pokemon Battles, but having one partner may limit the strategies avaible to them. That is a downside to being a Ranger, but an upside is the ability to handle situations in which a legendary Pokemon is involved.

Pokemon Breeder: Most people look down on Pokemon Breeders, but this may in fact be the most important path in the school. Trainers will have the ability to have a Breeder hatch eggs and raise Pokemon for the Trainer. They will usually charge for their services, and have a say in what moves the Pokemon learns. This may seem deconstructive for the Trainer, but the ability to train more Pokemon than the standard six as well as faster egg hatching makes up for it. Breeders will have their own Pokemon and battle purely for the purpose of leveling up and gaining experience. They will have access to several facilities in the Academy not avaible to others, such as the Breeding room where trainers breed their Pokemon. A recent addition to the building, developed by the Devon Corporation, is the synthesis room. Pokemon taken into here do not need a partner to breed, and Pokemon normally unable to breed will be able to create an egg (*coughlegendariescough*). This will allow event only Pokemon to be able to be shared among all the students in the building, however, the events to first catch such special Pokemon are on a first come first serve basis. Breeders will also be called on when the school itself is in danger.

Pokemon Contestants: Pokemon Contests have only recently risen in popularity, and special strategy is needed for them. Contestants raise their Pokemon in battle in order to teach them moves that will wow both the crowd and the judges at these events. They will utilize Pokeblocks, Poffins, and special grooming services to make their Pokemon presentable to these events. Much strategy is needed here, but a contestant can be guaranteed that they will rise to stardom much faster than a trainer, and as a result will have access to many more elite facilities then the other choices.

There are pros and cons to each path, but rest assured that whichever is chosen it will play a vital role in making the Serei region popular once again. And who knows? Maybe other regions might make themselves avaible to the aspiring student.

Students will also be given their own dorm rooms, which they can customize to their hearts content with items purchased from the school store and from city stores all around the region. These are like the secret bases in R,S, and E, and can be entered by friends in the school. Travelling around the region is also avaible, like in a standard Pokemon game.

The idea is grand, and help is needed! Screenshots will become avaible as progress furthens, and more story info will be added as it is developed. Any workers on the project will be guaranteed a major role in the game, which will be listed as incentives to new people, so feel free to donate any spare time to this! I hope to hear from you all!

You need to add a storlyine and more features or this will get closed.

Well most likely nobody answered you is because of the fact you have nothing to show.

Well you say you want to create a MMORPG right? Do you even know any coding yourself? You have know proof of your work know screen shots at all i might add. So where are you going with this? Please if you don't have any skill yourself what makes you think others will join up with you and dedicate there time and will to this. What did you do just wake up in the morning and say, "I have a super idea lets make a pokemon online game" And then you posted this thread. The thing i would do first is make a small rpg game, before you make a online one. A Masive muliplayer online game can take months and years to even create, and you have to have the time to do it. People are going to get so excited OMG! A pokemon MMORPG! And then they get to this thread and then they see this... This thread is most likely is going to be closed...

Yeah, I guess you got a point. Fortunately, there is an MMORPG Script out for RPG Maker XP, I plan to modify it to work in certain areas of the game only. I've only just started the project, as I need to find something to occupy my time since my family has decided to move. I do have experience using RPG Maker XP, but haven't done any noteworthy games yet, instead messing around with RPG Maker for the psx. I was going to add more detail if more people spark interest, as I'm working right now mostly on getting graphics for various parts of the game. I'm not planning on half-a**ing this, in case you're wondering. I really want to make something good and I have the ideas to do it.

P.S. How do you change the title of a thread?
P.S.S. First post hopefully fixed. A bit.

Don't let them take you down. I for one, would even buy this if it were a real thing that was for sale. The idea of being a Trainer, Ranger, Breeder, or Contest Star is awesome! I had always hoped someone would come up with something like this, but never bothered to say anything. (No one ever listens to me, for that matter) Might I suggest adding the ability to be a Professor's Assistant to the list?

Please try to read the rules. This thread is 3 and a half years dead, and the thread revival limit in here is 2 months.
