-Over 15 types of new pokemon
-Several revamped pokemon from R/S
-New storyline
-New region
-Genetically altered pokemon
-new sprites

Im posting a new thread becaus ethe old thread had most of its pictures deleted anyway.

Pokemon Amethyst is almost a complete overhaul of the game. I have edited the palettes sprites, text , scripts and pokemon to give the game a fresher look and feel to thegame. I think that when completed it will really be a great hack. Right now i need beta testers to take this beta i will post and tell me where anything looks odd or and of the levels are inconsistent as in too hard or too easy. Also give suggestions for trainers pokemon and wild pokemon.

Heres the Storyline:
You live in a small town called Nimbus in a new region(name undecided yet). Gary is the professor there. (You will meet several returning characters.) He has become a leading specialist in the field of pokemon genetics. He has managed to alter pokemon DNA to change a pokemon's type. One day he calls you to the lab. He says he needs a favor of you. He is in the middle of a ground breaking discovery and he and his aides are too busy to leave the lab. They need you to go retrive some important documents from a friend of Proffessor Gary. He allows you to borrow one of his special pokemon for your errand. When you return you find out that someone from TR has stolen one of the proffessors experimental pokemon and they plan to discover how to create there own from his research. He asks you to help stop TR. This is where your journey will begin.

The beta goes up to the 3rd gym and you can explore a few route ahead and battle a interesting pokemon before the beta ends.

Many of the sprites have been done by Digital Mage.

i think its only been taken like once or twice and the hacks never even released beta. this hack is around 25-30% done.

Well, i'll suggest you kill the purple, ruins the game completely! The main char is cool, but it ain't worth the sacrifice... Also make more options for the start Pok?mon! Plus you might wanna take a look at some mistakes, the game crashed when i got to the "city" you get to after the lab! Promising but needs lot of work!

^you should play farther into the game, give it a chance. the purple looks fine imo. The game gets better as you go along.
also be more specific, what crashed your game so i can post an updated patch

OMG, a beta. It looks spectacular so far. I love what you did with the EXP and HP bars, and the fakes rock. ^^ I could help with the sprites, if you like. I can do overworld and front sprites, but I'm not so sure about backshots. Anyhow, this is one of the best G/S/C hacks I've seen so far. :3 Keep up the great work!

the game goes alot farther, you can travel to an underground town and though a jungle, mountains etc.
The black pokemon is the ghost legendary this is its overworld sprite(made by Digital Mage). This pokemons name is Mystoo and can be aquired later in a the game in a special location.

If anyone has any good GSC style pokemon they think woul be cool for this game, im open to ideas. They have to actually be decent tho. No fusions.

Zephyr Plusle, whydont you post some examples of your work. DM is alreadyd doing sprites but 2 spriters is okay if you are good.

has anyone tried this beta? ive decided im not continuing this hack unless people like it, its not worth my time to make it if noone will want to play it. Please give the beta i try since i have put hardwork into it.

in the 4th city you can talk to your rival's parents. they tell you there child joined team rocket and ask if you have seen her. say yes and you can name your rival.
Mr.X is the president of the region. You can go and talk to him in the 4th city and he will give u a present for helping defeat TR in the cave. Its an electric/ghost type gastly

I do scratch sprites of Pokemon generally, so making a fake doesn't seem too hard. Devamping is okay with me too.

Here are some of my scratches:

I can also do splices, overworlds, and backshots.

And the screens are really, REALLY good. Can't wait to see more!

Currently Playing the Beta, Top-Notch. But I found a teeny bug. You know the guy that if you try to go farther down the route south of Viloet City? If you try to talk to him after you beat Aura it'll freeze the game.

.::Edit::. Ok I was wondering. When you choose your Partner (Starter) Is there supposed to be only Pikachu? Or are there supposed to be Chico, Cynda, & Toto? And can you catch Nampa & Kankar?

nampa is the evolution of noop
i decided pikachu was going to be the only starter because it fits more to the storyline and decided to allow the mutated starters to be caught later in the game. it may seem alittle weird cuz the text still needsx to be re-changed when you choose a poke.
Kankar is not in the game yet.

Ok thanks. Oh are you going to edit the Mudkip cry (if you can) and dex? Oh another glitch (I find too many...) If you talk to the guard in the building linking.....the routes between Violet City & Azalea Town, he battles you, his name is Derek but the Battle guy that shows up opposite you is a MissingNo. and he sicks a lvl. 35 Trapinch on you. Im gussing that was unintentional. Another glitch is that if you talk to Mr. X in Goldenrod at the new Radio Tower, reapdedly(sp) he'll keep giving you the altered Gastlys. Like I said, I find many glitches sometimes. It makes me sad that the Beta only goes up to Whats-Her-Faces Gym.....the girl who crys if you beat her (owned...)
