Pokemon Anime Explained (Comatose Ash Theory)

It's like somebody took the most absurd idea possible and made it make absolute perfect sense.

God bless the internet.

Once I figure it out this is in my sig

The weird thing is, that essay/whatever actually made perfect sense.

Wow. Psychology applied to Pokemon. We need to turn this into a debate thread so I can practice using what I picked up on the debate team to discuss whether this is really happening or not.

Of course, thinking about it, some people say that Doraemon is all a fantasy in a kid's head as well, so this isn't too far fetched if you're looking for a Pokemon "ending".

My turn:

stick to topic.

Then what are your thoughts on it?

Anyway, the only thing that's a real shame is I don't know where that person went after leaving the site. He seems to have vanished, so it leaves a few unanswered questions.

I read a few replies over at the original site, and someone had actually mentioned that it'd be funny if the writers of Pokemon were reading that and thought it would make a great plot twist. That it would be on the psychological level of Evangelion.

lol I think this is over-analyzing things. I really don't think the writers thought of all this....

But still, it's a very clever theory.
He did leave a few things unexplained though, like contests.. what do they represent?

According to this guy's thoughts, maybe contest represents Ash's desire to be more feminine?

If this is what the writers of pokemon were going for, then that would mean the Pokemon series would possibly have the greatest storyline in all of anime. imagine if the show's final episodes explained all this...

Maybe the pokemon special manga explains what would happen if Ash never fell into the coma in the first place? *falls on the floor laughing*

Then what are your thoughts on it?

Oh, well, it makes some sense. But, I'm channeling the Bob Newhart Show's finale (and Newhart) too much, so it's spoiling my fun. Then again, they could have written off Johto by having Ash wake up, like they did in Dallas to retcon the season after Patrick Duffy left (then came back).

For context, Duffy left and they killed off his character. He wanted to come back, and they had to find a way to undo the death, so magic dream. Heh.

is this article the reason why people call AshxPaul Fanfics "Comashipping"? cause /a/ mentions Paul trying to wake Ash up a lot.

anyways, out of everything i've seen on the internet, this quite possibly makes the most sense.(seriously)

i'd email it to my freinds, but that guy's(or girl's) icon might give them the wrong idea. i'll just copy and paste it to them and say someone else wrote it.

Maybe, instead of analyzing "comatose" Ash's psychology, the guy ended up analyzing the anime's writer's psychology.
