Pokemon Bashers...

    (a Pokemon Basher means people, mainly adults, who embarasses or try to lower dow the popularity of Pokemon, by writing news/magazine articles. Such articles are: "Pokemon turns Children Into Idiots", "Politically Incorrect Pokemon" and "Pokemon means Pocket Evils". The most famous Pokemon Basher in the world is Carole Boston Weatherford.)


    What do you think of these kind of people?

    In my opinion, I don't think that articles written by Pokemon Bashers do contain any research or any evidence. Such as "Pokemon means Pocket Evils", clearly shows that the author does not know Japanese.
    Other Pokemon Bashers such as Carole Boston Weatherford does have research, but the researches does not link well with the title of her article. She also gets off topic quite often, and has several spelling and grammatical mistakes in her article.

    Overall, I think it is absolutely plain sillyness to be a Pokemon Basher, because:
    a) A waste of time.
    b) You do not get benefited except for the little amount of money that the magazine/news paper company gives you.
    c) You can hurt a lot of people mentally.
    d) Many people can get berserk because of you.
     
    I think its terrible and they claim we have no friends and no lives. Heck Ive seen about 3 today thats bad
     
    I can understand where they're coming from, but I think they do rig the questions a bit, so that children/parents just tell them the answers they want to hear, to make it sound juicier for the newspaper/magazine. It's a common hint within journalism. But who cares really. As long as it still means you can do things Pokemon related, then I'm fine. I don't care about what some grandmother journalist trying to brainwash parents thinks about it.
     
    Oh god. I saw a story on Carole Boston Weatherford at Pokemon Peninsula. Take a look at this:

    Carole Boston Weatherford, a US children's writer, is probably the world's best-known anti-Pok?mon activist. Her sole defence against Pok?mon is that, in her opinion, the vaguely humanoid Jynx presents a racist image because of its black face, blonde hair and large bosom. This has sparked an uproar amongst Pok?mon fans, many of whom have written to her expressing their anger with her opinion and the damage it could cause to the way Pok?mon is viewed by the public.

    Man would I like to give her a good boot up the rear >.< It makes me SICK that people do this. Clearly a case of "Tall Poppy Syndrome". She's a children writer I noticed, maybe she jumped on the banwagon because Pokemon was selling out her books? xD

    Don't worry, Pokeon is not the only one bashed by her!

    Oh, she bashes everything! =.= (DragonBallZ is another famous one she bashed.)

    I tried all sorts (such as spamming her E-mail, posting "CBW sux") since I was
    13 years old! (Which was a long time ago.) Now, I remain passive.
    She never did block my E-mail address though.

    :O are you serious? wow....she must be jealous about the whole system of anime :O >.<

    My first instinct was flaming her email aswell, me being 14 and all. I guess I haven't matured in that sense yet...

    I haven't read the DBZ bashings; must read what she has to say and have a good old laugh at how pathetic she is xD

    Oh, she is totally pathetic. I can never imagine myself to waste my time to bash things I hate. I mean, what's the point of bashing?
    I hate Digimon, but I'm NOT going to bash it, thank you very much. Everyone has there own interests! Bashing means not respecting other ppl's interests!

    If I saw her, I wouldn't even ask to chat with her, I'd just beat her around with the nearest thing possible and accuse her of being racist towards Japanese cartoons ;P But then again, that's just my childish fury coming out xD

    If I HAD to talk to her, I would probably get on the defence really fast because of my nature.. so it wouldn't be much of a chat, it'd be pretty much like another war xD

    People who go on about everything being racism look very silly to me, especially since I've read, for example, many comic books with stereotypes of Japanese people. But ooh, of course we need to eliminate Pok?mon, because Jynx is 'stereotyping' the all-powerful never-to-be-stereotyped Africian Americans. -_- Yes, there used to be lots of racism against them... but nowadays you really don't need to go hysterical whenever something resembles a black person.

It's A Cartoon Character And No One Is Saying Offensive Things. Mr. mime Is A White Dude And She Isn't Bashing Him (Or Her... Stupid Nintendo Of America!).
     
    Meh, The show and the cards give it bad rep. The games are some of the best RPGs made for Gameboy. If there was no Show or cards, then there would be no PokeBashing. When someone bashes Pokemon they almost always state something about " GIVE ME TAHT CRD AND..." and " OGM MISTI IS TEH HOTTNESS". aka the cards and the show.

    Those articles make me laugh really hard. There will always be rumors about anything that is popular. That's how the people who invent those rumors make money. There's no point in creating a rumor about something that no one cares about. If your parents see a report about hidden dicks in the "Super Rocket" show they won't take it seriously because they don't even know what it is but if they see an article about kids whose brains are exploding because of the "oh so bad" Pokemon show they will care because everybody knows what Pokemon is. Toys, games, Pokemon Centers... they can be found anywhere! Don't want to see Pokemon in the TV anymore? Make someone jump out of the window screaming "I'm Charizard and I can fly!!!". Thousands of articles will come out and soon... bye bye Pokemon. Try not to take these articles so seriously and laugh at them, just like me n.~
