[PKMN OPEN] Pokemon Battle League! [TOURNAMENT RP]

Welcome, welcome, one and all to the Pokemon Battle League!

I'm your host, Smiley, and I'm pleased to introduce this new competition!

Here, you will be put against trainers from all over the globe, all skilled in their own rights! You will be pitted against each other with only one trainer coming out victorious in a grand finale!

Here are the rules:

-No META strategies. Please do not use a competitive VGC or Smogon team. It ruins the fun.

-Each Pokemon's Ability and Moves must be available by either Level-up or TM in the current Generation. Egg moves bred into that Pokemon by a Pokemon NOT o the same species are prohibited.

-Please be respectful and courteous. Trash-talk is okay, but don't cross the line.

-Legendary Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, and Mythical Pokemon are prohibited. This also includes Alpha Pokemon from PLA

-Mega Evolution and Z-moves are the only gimmicks allowed, Pokemon-exclusive Z-moves are allowed.

-Each contestant must have a team of six Pokemon

-If a battle ends in a tie by any means, the contestants must have a rematch to progress in the bracket.

-HAVE FUN!

Quick question, but how many pokemon are we allowed to have, is it just the one, or is it three, six, etc.?

Pronouns: He/Him
Appearance: Osmond is five foot ten inches tall and of average build. He has short auburn hair and dark brown eyes that look black from a distance. Osmond's most recognizable features are his sly grin and his handlebar moustache, which he has been sporting ever since he first started battling competitively. When he competes in tournaments, he typically wears his signature cowboy hat and brown jacket.

Personality: Osmond is known for being a rather unserious and eclectic individual, which also bleeds into his battle style, as he often employees unconventional and out of the box strategies against opponents.
Current Occupation: When he isn't competing in tournaments, Osmond works as a referee in the Battle Arcade and is working towards becoming a Frontier Brain himself.

Name: James Brent
Age: 16
Current Occupation: Pokemon Trainer when he isn't competing.
Appearance: Short, but not very short. He adores pokemon that most people tend to overlook, especially ones that he thinks have lots of potential. Because of this, his teams are often built around odd choices of pokemon so that he surprises his opponents. He's won a small tournament once, because he (before this one) wasn't old enough to enter most tournaments. But he's worked hard and now he's going to compete in his first major tournament far away from Kalos, his birth region. While he is nervous considering how there are many other, strong, trainers out there he hopes to make it past the first round or so.

Species: Leafeon
Ability: Chlorophyll
Moves: Leaf Blade, Sunny Day, Dig, Swords Dance
Other Notes: His first (and favorite) of his pokemon, he's trained his Leafeon since he got her as a gift from an older trainer who gave out fresh Eevees to any trainers he met.

Pokemon 2:

Nickname: Francisco
Species: Vivillon
Ability: Compound Eyes
Moves: Stun Spore, Hurricane, Fly, Signal Beam
Other Notes: He met this one when it was but a Spewpa, and, considering how it gave his then-Eevee trouble with Stun Spore, he caught it as a second member of the team. Eventually, it became a vital part in its own right being able to paralyze the foe before sending in Lilly to finish them off.

Pokemon 3:

Nickname: Aaron
Species: Aggron
Ability: Sturdy
Moves: Metal Burst, Iron Tail, Iron Defense, Earthquake
Other Notes: He found this one while exploring the Kalos region. While at first Aaron was rather frustrating, not listening to James and one time deserting, they eventually came to a mutual respect. He did try using a Mega Aggron on his team but that didn't work out as well as he thought it would.

Pokemon 4:

Nickname: Sir Edward
Species: Escavalier
Ability: Swarm
Moves: X-scissor, Giga Impact, Iron Head, Swords Dance
Other Notes: He was wanting a change of pace from a rather disobedient Shelmet, so when trading for a Karrablast, the two got in a fight. Well, one thing lead to another and he ended up with Edward, before doing a small 'knighting' ceremony to make him Sir Edward. The two get along quite well.

Pokemon 5:

Nickname: Abbey
Species: Aurorus
Ability: Refrigerate
Moves: Blizzard, Ancient Power, Protect, Encore
Other Notes: He found a fossil of Amaura once while going camping not too long after getting Edward. He went all over Kalos (and then some!) to find someone to revive it. Upon revival, the two realized they were stuck with each other, but eventually, they became friends. Abbey plays the most defensive role on the team, but even then, not all that much. But, in a pinch, she can do some serious damage, as she narrowly won a fight for him once.

Pokemon 6:

Nickname: Rory
Species: Raichu
Ability: Lightning Rod
Moves: Thunder, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave, Double Team
Other Notes: He found a lone Pikachu one day, clearly abandoned, so he took him in. He was the final pokemon to add to his team for this tournament, but certainly not least. When he evolved the Pikachu by using a Thunder Stone gifted to him by his local professor, he not only became much stronger, but quite sure of himself, but he will listen if in dire straits.



Is this fine? You didn't say anything about being from a non-Paldea region so I assumed it was fine if I used pokemon that aren't in Paldea, but no pokemon that are in the region.

Name: Vaiida
Age: 16
Current Operation, Master Trainer for the Hoenn region.
Appearance: He has Blaziken's Punk Style outfit from Pokémon Unite, as well as his Blaziken himself. While he may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, he's not the dullest either. He can spot a opening when he gets a chance to. He declined the position of Gym Leader, since to him and I quote: "Meh, not really my style. Just sittin' here all day waiting for people to come fight me gets a little boring." He has long, puffy hair.

Species: Blaziken
Ability: Speed Boost
Moves: Blaze Kick, Feather Dance, Upper Hand, Stone Edge
Other Notes: Vaiida's 1st partner Pokémon. He's strong, but kind-hearted. He wants to be the strongest, but shows restraint and takes a break sometimes. Vaiida's most loyal team member.

Pokémon 2:

Nickname: Eclipse
Species: Umbreon
Ability: Synchronize
Moves: Throat Chop, Psychic, Tera Blast, Moonlight
Other Notes: Vaiida found an injured Eevee while venturing with 'Shamo, as he helped it recover, the Eevee joined him out of respect and has been loyal to him ever since. While on their night training, Eclipse evolved into Umbreon. 'Shamo and Eclipse team up the most.

Pokémon 3: Carchacrok
Species: Garchomp
Ability: Rough Skin
Moves: Swords Dance, Scale Shot, Earthquake, Iron Head
Other Notes: Vaiida found a Gible, and he really liked Gible, so he caught it.. at the cost of Carchacrok biting his head. Carchacrok and 'Shamo have an intense rivalry, each having an attempt to outdo each other, which tends gets out of hand.

Species: Scizor
Ability: Technician
Moves: Fury Cutter, Swords Dance, Counter, Night Slash
Other Notes: Vaiida was stopping a rouge Scyther from cutting up everything in a forest, and he caught it. Vaiida's most wild-mannered Pokémon.

Species: Lapras
Ability: Water Absorb
Moves: Perish Song, Dragon Dance, Smart Strike, Icicle Spear
Other Notes: uhh he got it as a gift i got nothin

Pokémon 6: Volzo
Species: Hisuian Braviary
Ability: Keen Eye
Moves: Acrobatics, U-Turn, Bulk Up, Stored Power
Other Notes: still got nothin
