[Released] Pokemon Bioterror (v1.2 released 05/18/2025)

Hello folks! I'm here to share the details for patch v1.2.1 of BioTerror. This is an optional update, but if you haven't completed the Charcoal Mansion sidequest yet, I highly recommend applying this patch, as it addresses a potential hardlock bug that could affect your progress.

Download links have been updated in the main post.

Hello. I found this game by chance and I'm struggling with the first gym, especially their Smeargle. I'm on classic mode. Anyone can give me some hints?

Hello there.
There are several Pokémon and tools available that you can take advantage.
If you haven't done so already, consider defeating Irona to obtain an Eviolite, which can be very helpful.
If your starter is Candror or Croconaw, they can be reliable picks. Croconaw has the ability Strong Jaw and can learn Ice Fang. Ability Patch is also available in the shop to help you change abilities of your Pokemon.
If your starters aren't usable, you can use Rock-types with Sturdy, like Geodude or Nacli, to ensure at least one attack lands.
Sudowoodo, which evolves after learning Mimic at level 18, can also be useful. It has Sturdy and access to Stone Edge, which can give you an edge.
Pikachu with a Light Ball is another solid counter. It takes neutral damage from Smeargle's Elemental Wing and can strike back hard.

For support roles, Ledian with Reflect can help raise your team's Defense, or Spidops with Silk Trap can lower your opponent's Speed.

If none of the above strategies work for you, try using the EV training facilities in the Pokémon League building and/or enabling manual EV allocation in the settings for more control.
A shop sells mints, which can help you optimize your Pokémon's nature.

I will try this guide once I get back to the game. Also why that signature move is neutral to pikachu? It's just super-effective against everything I tried before.

Elemental Wing deals damage using one of its user's inner types, whichever type is more effective in the situation.
For example:
Dartrix's Elemental Wing can be either Flying or Grass. Against Geodude, it will deal Grass-type damage, since that's super effective. Against Taillow, it will deal Flying-type damage, as Taillow resists Grass but takes neutral damage from Flying.
There are some special cases. Amorain can use either Flying or Electric, as it has an alternate Electric form. Smeargle (Artist Form) may use Fire, Ice, Electric (based on the legendary beast trio, underlings of a certain phoenix) or Flying. So against Pikachu, it should be either Fire or Ice.
