Pokemon Book 1: Kanto [12]

About five people have already told me that...and I'm changing the direction of the story. I don't think my second chapter has happened in most of the cliche fics....

I see you made the 20 minute toast thing a little weirder. Dawn must have a Biiiiiiig mouth and a wiiiide throat to swallow a whole piece of toast.

I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

I am unusual in that I like trainer fics, but this one seems to be something special. Immediately, chapter two strayed away from the typical path, and I'm liking it. Although, I think the three startes could've been changed, but that's just my opinion.

Really, could you rephrase that? I thought you just said that nobody cares about what region you use. People care, it's just that they don't care so much about the region as they do the plot and the characters.

Chapter two strayed away from the path of Mary-Sue fics, but the story is still OT, which isn't really a bad thing. If chapter two were hugely different, then this story would cease to be an OT fic. But my main concern here is your mentioning of the starters. What would be gained by changing the starters? Nothing much, really. The species of Pokemon carried by the trainer doesn't matter so much as the character of the Pokemon itself. Do the Pokemon have feelings, personalities, etc.? Do they like humans or do they hate them? What are their feelings about their trainers, and how do they express them? These are the things that need to be addressed primarily, not so much the species. Besides, going with these three starters sticks to Pokemon canon, which kind of helps tie the fic in with the rest of the Poke-verse.
