Pokemon Box Evolution Question

Sorry about the somewhat random question:

Does trading pokemon such as Kadabra, Machamp and Haunter from one GBA cartridge to another via Pokemon Box cause them to evolve? I have read that trading to Box counts as a 'transfer' not a 'trade' so they won't evolve, but what about if you then put them to a different GBA cartrdige? (I own Emerald and Sapphire). I'm guessing no, but worth asking.

It's a real bummer if they don't evolve because you can't get those evolved forms on the XD or Colesseum games, which, with the help of Box, I was gonna use to complete my Emerald Pokedex. But I guess the only way for me to do that now is to find two GBA consoles and a link cable. D'oh!

Nope, it doesn't work. I have it and I tried some years ago :\
But if you have Colosseum or XD you can do trade with them, and they will evolve.

So can I trade from any of the GBA games to Colesseum/XD, and then trade to Emerald once they have evolved? That would certainly fix my problem! Would this work for Huntail, Gorebyss and Kingdra too? (who need to be traded holding an item?)

Yes, you can trade them oce you have finished the story mode in the GC games and got the National Dex in Emerald.
And the pokes you listed will evolve normally, of course.
