I haven't seen a thread on this subject in the sections I frequent, on the first two pages where there are more pages at least. So, figured I'd start a thread about it. If there is a thread on the topic which I have not discovered, feel free to merge this to it, I won't throw a fit.

I am technically a pokemon breeder, but I use ditto and control the offspring that way. Thus I can use them in specific trades. I have three dittos now, transferred them all to Black in preparation for X/Y recently. Because of this I often get some really good trades, though for Y I will likely breed a bunch of level one pokemon then train them from the start because of the new features that can offer better control of their development.

One benefit to this, my friends will likely be able to get a bunch of rare pokemon from me without needing a comparably rare one in trade. The reason I control the outcome by using ditto is because ... I have almost all pokemon from gen IV and earlier, save the ones I can't breed anyway, the ones no one wants to trade, though I do have their dex entries on Black.

Because of the nature of this topic, specific questions fail to come to mind, so just post your thoughts or discussion on it.

I've been using the Ditto Breeding method for quite some time, as soon as I discovered the potential with the aftermath. Literally the only way to get the babies, I'm a big fan of Magby and Elekid. Don't be surprised if you don't get too many responses, breeding is something that would seldom come into mind with the standard player. Your speculations are interesting and I'd love to trade with you, you seem like you got all kinds of rare types.

I collect them, and always have one of everything I can get, and if it can be bred I don't mind breeding some for trade. Let's exchange FC's, you can send it via PM if you don't want to air it publicly. I'll have most of the dex filled in once the transporter and bank are available.
