Pokemon: Burning Passion (Title may be changed to "Team Rocket's Vengeance)
This ROM hack Idea has a interesting story behind it's creation. The idea was to create a brand new Pokemon world with it's own philosophy and mythology. It was originally going to be a FanFic (gag), but after putting a lot of work into character design, story line, character relation, and even drawing up a map, I decided to make a game. Please, don't be put off by the Team Rocket thing, I've been laughed at enough for being a fan of them as it is,
The story will be centered on a new land named Taleum, and fallow you and your sister/brother/rival as you finally begin you Pokemon training adventure, being hindered from starting due to you mother falling ill and your father was never around in person, he just sent money to you for years. Now 16, Darick(male main character, female's rival) and Light (Female character, male's rival) will explore a brand new land filed with mystery. (lol, I said I put a LOT of work into the story line) Soon, even before you gain your first pokemon, you encounter a small time Rocket grunt and stumble on an immensely dark storyline that Nintendo would never write.
Now, I don't mean dark as in excessive swearing and leud humor (although I am considering a small amount of both), but this time it means Team Rocket will be portrayed as a "New" Team Rocket that will do anything to accomplish it's goals, including betrayal, kidnapping, and even murder. This will put a new spin on Pokemon, and bring it closer to it's RPG roots.
I'm not too sure what else I should post here, but I would like to get a few opinions. Here is a small list of the MAJOR things that need to be done.
1. Place and recreate an entirely new map
2. Create all of the new sprites for Gym Leaders/Rockets/Main Characters (I'm working on this, but am having a huge amount of problems)
3. New music (someone is working on this)
4. Small programing changes.
Any help offered will be considered and appreciated.
