OOC: WHO's controlling who?

BIC: Wordlessly, I took out my iPod and shifted the song to "I Think They Like Me" and closed my eyes as I listed to the music. God! That girl is impossible! You pull out a weapon and she goes off. I don't care what she thinks of the blade its not leaving! Skarmory followed from behind silently.

Feeling Maki's brief glance, Raen continued to gaze forward as a faint smile drifted across his features. "You shouldn't be so suspicious of people," the trainer stated, his voice level and calm.

Raising one hand to lift Cubone off his shoulder, Raen continued, "I know it's hard to trust people--especially now. But, to say it simply, at the moment we have little choice." Stroking the ground Pokemon held in one arm, the male added, "Besides, I think that the people here trust you. Would it be too much trouble to return the favor?"

"I know...it's just...I get this weird feeling." Her eyes returned to him slightly, quickly making a switch to a slight smile. "I'm just feeling awkward at this area, even without my mind of memories making me feel awkward." She moved towards her Misdreavous' head. She patted it slightly. "I'm sorry."

"well, if it?s nothing, we should go on." Scar said. Since the trainers had argued, Scar had strange feeling. He looked at the destructed city buildings, thinking about what happened here. It looked like the one city he was in long ago. Could it be the city i... {no, don?t thing about it... chu...} he shook his head. His fur got an upright bearing. Bah, this always happens if i think about that one thing... he thought. While he was walking he started to clean his fur. He hoped it would stop soon and tried to make his fur normal again. {Geez, i look like a tousled Teddy...} he said grinning at Pika and Eve. It was a a while ago he had smiled. Did he ever smile in the vicinity of Pika and Eve? He didn?t know, but he could imagine that it must look funny.

OOC: YOU were controlling my character when you said this:

ignoring Kelly's mindless insults.

I guess you meant after you got up. Oh and btw, Kelly was silent at the end >(

IC:

Kelly sighed as she listened to the conversation between Maki and Raen. She knew she shouldn't of, but she was concerned for Maki's sake. She edged up closer to them. "Maki" She said once there was silence between them. "If you do know.. Or remember anything about this place.. Then I think it would be best if you share the info with us. You can trust.." She drifted off, gazing at the guy who she just fighted with her. "..Most of us. But i'm just saying, it might help us to know if you know something about the upcoming danger." She finished in a whisper, gazing up at the tall building they were nearing.

"Hm..?" Pika shifted his bored gaze over to Scra "Don't think about what? Chu.." Eve turned to Scar "Ui?" Suddenly Scar's fur fluffed out and Pika shifted back a few steps out of fright "Woah!" He knocked over Eve and they both fell onto the ground. "Arrg!!" Eve struggled. She got up quickly and shook her fur. Dust surrounded her when she did. "Tell me when you do that next time!" Pika said, the surprised look still etched his features. "Ow..Yeah." Eve mumbled.

"Don't worry about," Raen reassured Maki, a calm smile forming itself on his features.

As Kelly drew nearer, the male trainer's smile faded, and he fell silent. Listening to Kelly speak, Raen made no comment, simply turning his gaze to the Cubone in his arms. Laying one hand atop Cubone's armored head, a troubled, restless light entered his pale blue eyes--altering them as a changing tide shifts the ocean waters. Even if they stopped fighting, the enmity between Darrius and Kelly is still obvious. If they can't trust one another, perhaps it is better that they not be forced to.

Waiting until Kelly had finished speaking, Raen interjected with a suggestion. "Once we reach the city, maybe we should split into two groups of two. We'll be able to cover more ground that way. And, having two separate pairs will be more subtle than a group of four."

'Do I remember something? I think I may...but it's too fuzzy to confirm.' She quickly took a deep breath and pulled her hands up. They were still covered in the feeling of blood. It was uncomfortable...the feeling of blood. However, she had gotten used to it somehow. "I....think someone was just over by that pillar." She pointed to a pillar looking rubble. It might have once been a very big building. "Of course, I could just be paranoid...but it just doesn't add up. How easily we got in here, I mean."

"Sorry! I didn?t want to do that! It sometimes happens..." he had to laugh. "But your reaction was the greatest on this day!" Scar still looked like a big walking and talking teddy, and now a teddy that laughed stupid. He tried to make his fur normal but it seemed to be difficult to do so and to laugh at one time...

"O, it's just you Scar." Her body somehow relaxed very slightly. Something was going on, she just didn't know what exactly. The area was damp in death...blood was dried everywhere. 'Is that...another rocket?' She ran over to a slumped over body. Pulling it down and looking at it. "It can't be...mom?!" It was a skeleton that was rotting by now, but...she knew it was...it was her own mother...

"Wha..? Mother?!" Kelly ran over to Maki and the half rotted skeleton. She turned her head away instantly, not wanting to look at the horrifying site. "Arg..Pika! Eve!!" She called over. They imediatly ran over to Kelly. "Pikaa?" Pika asked slowly. Then he turned his head toward the half rotted body. Eve did the same. "UIIIII" Eve's fur shot out in all directions as she skidded frightfully back a few feet. Pika's fur did the same, only he stayed where he was, still dazed by it though. Kelly took a deep breth, then turned her head slowly toward the rotting corpse. "A-are you sure..?" She asked Maki shakily, almost silently.

Raen stood a respectful distance from Maki, his blue eyes fixed unfalteringly on the female and the remains of her mother. In his arms, Cubone's gaze turned down toward the bloodstained ground, its bone club grasped loosely in one paw.

Slowly approaching Maki, Raen lowered one hand and lightly touched her shoulder. "Put her down," Raen murmured to Maki. "I realize that it's difficult, but . . . It's not safe to touch a human corpse." A shadow fell over the male trainer's pale, azure eyes. "Everyone, you can go on ahead. There's no time to spend here . . . I'll see that she receives a proper burial." After a pause, Raen added, "Maki . . . If you're not sure why your mother is here, then you'll probably find your answers in the city ahead."

"What the...," I was wordless when I saw the disturbing sight of the rotting corpse. A slaughtering happened a few moments ago with the signs of dried blood stained everywhere. Kelly was knelt beside the half torn skeleton, which she named her mother. What happened here? Who's responsible for this vicious murder? Was it the rockets, crazed pokemon, or something else. I clicked of my iPod, thinking I had enough music for now. Skarmory was shocked as well, glancing at different directions at once.

OOC: actually its Maki's mother XD

Kelly got up slowly and stared helplessly one last time at Maki, then did a half turn and continued walking. "Pika! Eve." She called out. Pika came rushing up to Kelly's side and jumped on her shoulder. Eve came a little slower, fur still on end, and also jumped on Kelly's shoulder, struggling a bit at first. "Heh, you look like a teddy bear" Kelly whispered to Eve, laughing slightly. Eve gave Kelly a half glare. 'Well looks like shes back to normal.' She thought happily. When she got near Darrius she walked past him quickly and whispered. "Come on. We go alone now from here."

Maki turned to Raen almost as if her past was beginning to make everything she had once known change. "I know...why she must be here...I knew...in my mind...they were...." Her eyes began to fill with tears, they fell unbeknownst of the young woman. "I knew they were rockets...that's why...I saw them..." Her eyes looked at a necklace on the skeleton's neck. The rocket uniform was torn in places. "I remember seeing them dead...but I..." She covered her face with her hands, tears weren't meant to do anything but make her weaker.

Though he did not fully understand Maki's words, Raen stood wordlessly beside her--releasing the ground Pokemon from his arms. Springing to the ground, Cubone cautiously neared the partially rotted corpse. Edging between Maki and the remains of the deceased, the ground type carefully began to move the dead body away from the female trainer.

Watching in silence as Kelly and her Pokemon again started toward the city, Raen then turned toward Maki. His voice low and steady, the male quietly said, "If you need to cry, then cry as much as you want to. If you want to remember, then remember. But, if the memories are too painful . . . Then don't worry. The memories can wait."

As Cubone slowly moved the corpse away from Maki, it paused--its dark eyes resting on the necklace that hung about the neck of the dead. Though portions of the adornment were encrusted with dried blood, other portions shone with a bright clarity. Extending one paw, Cubone carefully lifted the necklace over what remained of the corpse's head. Then, looping the jewelry about its forearm to later present to Maki, it continued its task of preparing the body for burial.

Her hands fell from her face, tears still falling as if waiting to release from her eyes. She began to see it all...but it came slowly to her...only her mother's memory in her mind.

"Mother?" The young girl looked at the dead body, her mother's body was motionless, blood staining the young girl's clothes. "Mother? Wake up. Please! Mother!" She began shaking the older woman's body, it would not wake. The necklace began to get covered in blood. The young girl stared at her hands, her bloody hands.

"I knew she was dead, I knew it but I couldn't accept it. I'm no use in this expedition...not like this." Her hands went to her face, and simply kept crying.

OOC: Oh, sorry about that. Will Edit later

BIC: This was truly grueling sight to withstand, especially for Maki. Raen was beside her, whispering some comments to her, trying to comfort her. The question on who or what did this still disturbs me. How can whatever fiendish creature perform such a devilish act and why? Kelly quickly walked past me, heading towards the door and suggesting that we leave. I nodded slightly and followed her to the door, Skarmory from behind.

She stopped her crying, and her body sat against the pillar she had seen. The pillar was the only thing keeping her from laying against the destoryed ground. Her mother's body was still being pushed by Raen's cubone, and she no longer knew if they needed someone this useless on an expedition like this. She knew the truth more than ever now, her parents were rockets...she had forgotten all about it. She remained blankly staring at the cubone. "Mom...can you...sing me a song?" Maybe she was delirious, but she could swear she heard singing.

Raen was silent for a long moment, his pale, blue eyes turned toward the stone ground. Then, as Maki murmured a request for her mother to sing, Raen's eyes widened slightly in surprise. Turning toward Cubone, the trainer then heard the faint melody Maki seemed to be already aware of.

From beneath Cubone's skull, soft echoes pulsed in soothing rhythm and tone. As he listened to the mournful tune, Raen's expression quieted as memories flitted through his mind. This song . . . It's the same one I heard Cubone singing in the graveyard on the day we met.

Hearing Maki's words, Cubone turned inquiringly to its trainer. Raen nodded slightly, murmuring, "Scizor and Ninetails will complete the burial."

Having received Raen's approval, Cubone continued its song, increasing the melody's volume slightly, but losing none of the power gained be the song's subtlety. Steady, yet ever-changing, the tune seemed filled with the sweet sadness as of the rain. Flowing in seamless waves, the song wordlessly mourned the ages past and wept with notes rather than tears, wept for what never was and what could no longer be.

As Cubone continued its requiem, Raen quietly released Scizor and Ninetails. Placing a finger silently to his lips as the Pokemon materialized, the male then directed them with whispered commands. Moving noiselessly, Scizor gently lifted the remains of Maki's mother as Ninetails selected a place of burial.

Her eyes reacted slightly to the melody, somehow calming her body. A big intake of breath took into her body. "It's okay...to be afraid...Maki." Her misdreavous had took a place in her lap. "It's always okay to be afraid. It shows you are human."
"My father probably isn't here anymore. I happened to throw his bones in a pond." She slightly made a half smile at her Misdreavous. "It's all for the better...right?" She leaned back against the pillar again, her Misdreavous somehow stroking her hand slightly.
