OK, that just made me look like a idiot :\

Even if your hacking Yellow, your only adding a few events. Try remapping some routes and city's and change up some of the dialouge.

On Topic...You need to expand your storyline or features to keep this alive.
 
Pokémon Charmander? Kinda... sucky. Perhaps... Pokémon Burning Thunder? Because it's hack of Pokémon Yellow (thus the thunder part) and you get Cgarmander, which is fire, thus the burning part.

EDIT: I think I can get you some sprites... but I;'m not entirely sure.

By the way, I#m not really sure why I'm helping you with this hack. Usually a boring hack like this I would leave to die. Must be in a weird good-but-not-exactly-happy mood... how weird.

EDIT 2: Gary's Eevee evolves depending on what you do:
Lose against Gary in lab: Vaporeon
Win against Gary in Route 22 (If you didn't lose against Gary in lab): Jolteon
Skip/Lose Battle against Gary in Route 22 (If you didn't lose against Gary in lab): Flareon

Perhaps you should change it so it always evolves in to Vaporeon. Or change it to this:

Lose against Gary in lab: Jolteon
Win against Gary in Route 22 (If you didn't lose against Gary in lab): Vaporeon
Skip/Lose Battle against Gary in Route 22 (If you didn't lose against Gary in lab): Flareon

Of course, you could just leave it as it is.

EDIT 3: Found you some Charmander sprites, there not that good, but it's the sprite used in R/B, so what did you expect?

I have an idea on the Pokemon-following-hero thing. Couldn't you just expand the Hero Sprite, then paint a Charmander (pikachu...whatever.) sprite onto the empty part of the hero sprite? You'd have to do all the frames, though, but it would work, without taking up every little bit of free space.
