The egotistical grandson of Professor Oak. Gary has studied Pokemon extensively, and is ready to prove his superiority by becoming champ of the Indigo League. The only thing in his way? You.

A devious and cunning young Pokemon trainer who is also apparently from Pallet Town. Sure, she found your abandoned Charmander and nursed it back to health, but she also knocked you out and sold you into Team Rocket. She seems nice enough, though...

Age: Mid to Late 50's
Leading in Pokemon research in the Kanto region, Oak has gained global renown for his numerous additions to the Pokemon community. He hands out starter Pokemon to the children of Pallet Town, where he resides.

Gender: Male
Your first Pokemon. It prefers to remain outside of it's ball. When it was attacked by a pack of Rattata, you abandoned it, and consequently, it was stolen by Team Rocket. But due to your selfless attempt to rescue it, it is slowly beginning to respoect you as a trainer, and more importantly, as a friend.

Age: 60's
Once a great Pokemon trainer, Obadiah now lives out his days in Viridian City with his family. He's especially close to his granddaughter. He taught you how to catch Pokemon! After being fatally wounded by a Beedrill, he and Raticate were airlifted to Viridian City for extensive care. His current status is unknown.

A Bug Catcher who resides in Viridian Forest. He saved you and Obadiah from a Beedrill swarm.

K, I'm freaking mad at all the the people who wasted our time at Gary's House. They should of just got the map and left.

i knew it! i knew there was a reason we shouldnt have fed that rattata! we coulda got its pokedex entry, but nooooo, we had 2 go feedin it...

Actually, this game is more closer to the Anime in some aspects, such as Pokedexes. We already have data on all Pokemon in Kanto, but you don't really know what a Rattata is cause you need to hear it's dex entry first.

But c'mon, let's be realistic. A never battled Lvl.5 pokemon that's on it's last legs? I think help is necessary.
And though popping a potion could help, why not accelerate the battle a bit?

yea but if we do that he may use it as a crutch in future battles. i mean yea i wanna help him out(there's nothing i'd like more than 2 take a few swings @ those greedy rattata, except maybe gettin some from Gary's sister...XD) but it seems like something he should do himself. it make him hardier in a long run.
