    You are a kid who just moved to the Harano region. Your father Zam is former Champion of the Clearvis Island Cup. A friend of yours, Datai is waiting for you near the edge of town to tell you to get a starter Pokemon(Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mudkip). When you head to Professor Hera's lab, Team Alo appears with their leader, Po to take a Porygon2 from Hera. After choosing a starter, you battle a Grunt(A "rival"). You then decide to clear the two leagues of the region(Harano League and Clearvis Island Cup) begining with Genda.
