I say head south, there isn't much for you if you go west. You don't really need to catch any pokemon on this route, because you'd just be covering types you already have.

Dont do anything, take a nap and have a picnic with slowpoke tail sandwhichs, or just train your pokemon and box shiny.

Anyway you should continue down the track and capture a Mareep or Hoppip ( both their Evo's look cool) and focus on leveling.

Capture a Mareep.

Level up starter to level 17.

Level up Mareep to level 14.

Level up Shiny to level 14.

Uhh personally I would go back to Rt. 29 and go up to Rt. 46 in the morning and catch a Phanpy. It's a little bit of a back track but I think its worth it and if you level it up from lv. 2 or 3 you'll have an extremely strong Donphan.

On a side note you can't catch Mareeps on Rt. 32 anyway.
