Right now, I have a rough idea of the Game's plot. Since it's only in the earliest stages, this is the prime time to get feedback and make tweaks to the story. So it would be really helpful if anyone can give me some tips and hints:
Story:
My Evil Team: Team Cyber/GN Tech.
Story: My team would come in two main parts; the company with shady business tracks to the the backstabbing hackers for hire. The team would be based in the poverty stricken region of Solren, where the Silph Co.'s products like Pokeballs and PCs are much too excessive to afford. So a rival company, called GN Tech, see their opportunity to provide a cheaper alternative they could afford.
They sold a small watch called a "Pokepal", all your Pokeballs and PC in one. Instead of the need to carry separate Pokeballs, all you needed to do, was point the Pokepal at a weaken wild Pokemon and "click", the wild Pokemon would be caught if weak enough.
You would carry your entire team in one device and could switch them out on the go, with having instant access to GN's storage system. However there were consequences to packing all this complex technology into such a small area and making it so cheap; The Pokepal was very prone to glitches and viruses, meaning the Pokemon inside them, stored as computer data, could be corrupted. (In lore explanation for the Glitch Pokemon in the earlier games, ex. Missingno.)
When those Pokemon made of corrupted data are brought back in the Physical world, they would come out as glitched up, deformed abominations. So to keep their reputation and stop their product being pulled from the market, GN hired a skilled yet small group of hackers. They were paid to hack into Trainers' Pokemon storage accounts and "delete" any glitched Pokemon they found. However instead of destroying the glitched Pokemon like they were paid to do, Team Cyber secretly kept the Glitch Pokemon alive behind GN Tech's back and experimented on them.
They would stabilize the glitched Pokemon by giving them robotic parts, making new Pokemon and type in the progress, Cyber Pokemon. Those unique Pokemon would then be sold onto the black market for a fortune. However once the main hero fights the Leader of Team Cyber, the battle causes the building to lose it's power. Letting all the imprisoned glitched Pokemon out. They all leap on top of the Leader, fusing together into the ultimate deformed corrupted creature.
Turning themselves and the Team leader into the legendary Pokemon of that game. Now the player is given a deep moral question, do you capture a human-Pokemon hybrid?
Team Cyber: Unlike other Pokemon teams, Team Cyber is much smaller, with only six members of the greatest minds the Solren region has to offer. Each with their separate motive to being a part of the team; Some are in for the money, others to gain knowledge and one even wants to bring her deceased Pokemon back to life.
They're a group for hire, doing what ever high tech job you need; Hacking, cloning Pokemon, engineer items/weapons etc. However Team Cyber leader is shady and willing to go behind the back of his clients if he thinks it's worth the risk of unhappy customer. With only six members, they have Cyber Pokemon grunts instead. So when ever you encounter a "Team Cyber Grunt", it's treated like a mix of a Trainer battle and Wild battle; They'll still have overworld sprites and try and spot you but you'll only have to battle that signal Pokemon and have the option to capture it, however you can't run from them.
(Fun Fact: Team Cyber made the "Dubious Disc", Porygon-Z's evolution item.)
Victims of Team Cyber: Due to Team Cyber occasionally stealing entire PC accounts worth of Pokemon, the victim is left with no way to make money with no Pokemon to battle with. Due to the poverty of the Region, quite a few Pokemon trainers don't have anywhere to go if they're Pokemon journey fails, leading to an increased homeless population.
Main Character: This where the main character comes in. Before the events of the game, they were an successful Trainer with serval badges already but they were one of the victims of Team Cyber and are now homeless. Now 13/14, they're given a 2nd chance by The 'Professor' character of the game, the original founder of Team Cyber before he lost control of it, who wants to put an end to the mess he helped created. He gives you a stolen stater Pokemon, hoping you'll be able to put a stop to them before they become like him; a guilt-ridden wanderer who's constantly on the run from the police.
Violet the Rival: Unlike in other games, Violet shares much more personal connections with the main player. She's a mix of the 'friendly' and 'Jerk' rival, acting as a Sister-like figure. Even giving you the pet name of 'Teddy'. To show more personality, all members of her team are nicknamed. She's light-heartily teases the player and often challenges them, to see how you've improved and to make sure you don't get ahead of her. However she does this, because she cares about you and wants to make sure you remind strong though tough-love.
She is also a victim of Team Cyber. So when the main character become homeless as well, Violet took pity on you and took them under her wing, being a 2 years older then you. She taught the hero how to survive on the street and you were the closet thing to family she had. So when both of you are given a 2nd chance, her deep secret hatred of Team Cyber show through wanting revenge. After they stole all her Pokemon, specially her starter Pokemon Espeon, now owned by one of the Team Cyber members.
The only thing Violet has left of her Espeon, is it's son, which Violet raised from a Egg. Now an Umbreon, the situation becomes intense as Umbreon is forced to attack it's own mother by it's Trainer. It's to the Player to make sure Violent doesn't go too far.
The Solren Region:
The region would known Solren, a poverty stricken region with vast deserts and high temperatures. Solren is mostly filled Pokemon adapted to a harsher warmer climate, having many Ground, Fire, Bug, Fighting, Dragon, Dark, Ghost, Poison, Rock and Steel type Pokemon. Only having pockets of other environments. Due to they being very rare and representing life itself, water Pokemon are treasured. With many ruins scattered around Solren, set up by ancient Tribes to worship them.
Real life areas that would inspire Locations in Solren include: A giant termite mound for Bug Time Pokemon, Grasslands, Savannahs bush, Cactus forests, Grand Canyon, Arizona mountains, Salt desert, Oman, Oasis, Underground lagoon, Ethiopia, Mirage area for Dark/Psychic types.
Solren is quite a traditional region, not as addicted to the Pokemon crave like the rest of the world around them. Being a region being much more focused on things like farming. So becoming Pokemon trainer is not seen as proper career by many people in Solren. Many can't afford to become a Pokemon trainer anyway, so they can't become one, even if they wanted.
They like to use Pokemon more traditionally by keeping them in pens and using them for work and as pets. Because of this, the Pokemon community in Solren is more secretive, to avoid ridicule. With the Gyms and the League tucked away in the hidden parts of the Region. Some of the gyms are even in states of disrepair, due to lack of usage. The few people that get Pokemon Trainer License, are given a map at the start of their journey to help find the obscure gyms.
The Main Character must even track down an old gym leader and convince him that it's still worth running the gym. Luckily, the new generations of Solren are starting to come become more interested in Pokemon Training and battling. However it will take a long time for the Pokemon crave to fully settle into Solren.
