Gritlan - A small village where the game begins. Inside the village theres four houses (One belonging to your rival, one for you grandfather, one for the gym leader of Sybil and another belonging to a random). In the center of the town there is a well to which supplies the village with water.
Sybil - North of Gritlan is Sybil. This is a typical urban area which contains the games first gym. Trainers around here (including the gym leader) specialise in the use of the flying type. There are many large buildings in Sybil including a gym, a company specialising in the production of poke'blocks and a spa. This is the potagonist's home town.
Varce - A town famous for its academy. The academy takes up most of the city and is used for increasing your pokemon's stats and tutoring the player in some special techniques that will later help. Sort of like a real life gym. Next to the academy is the town gym, specialising in electric pokemon. There is no real purpose for the city after the gym is done apart from using the academy.
Lagier - A town to whcih rivals Varce, in every which way. Lagier is where the contests shall happen. It is host to a gym of which uses water type pokemon, a bar and several shopping facilities. Also in the top left corner of the city there is a brick wall to which has a a wooden doorway around it. More on that as things progress.
The emprian cascade - There is really very little that goes on here. The main point is that the empire have taken of Latiah's mountain. In the center of the mountain there is a lake. Your aim is to pass through the mountain to which later you will return.
Baratun - A run-down city to which there is little, just a gym dealling with the ground type and a scrap yard for which the player can search for items in a mini-game. There is nothing else that happens here.
Hyria - A small village situtating in a woodland area. This is where a large part of the story is revealed. It is here we find out about "God's tear"; a maginficent lake where the doorway of Purity lies. Once discovered you carry on from there.
Astia - Astia is a thriving city of which is surrounded by dessert. As you would most likely assume the gym here makes use of fire type pokemon. There is also a shopping center for which the player can purchase furniture and other goods. In the basement of the poke'block company shop is a wooden doorway simillar to that in Lagier.
Hekorin - Hekorin is a series of unamed islands south of the Hyrian cape. Here lies a gym for the dark and psychic types. Hekorin also posses a doorway simillar to those in Astia and Lagier.
Dracor - A city in the most northen part of Arken. The surrounding land isolates Dracor from the rest of the world. Vision is hard in the extreme tundra. It is here that a gym specialising in the ice type best grows. There are many caves around here containing many ice and dark type pokemon.
Storyline:
You play as a teenage boy/girl. One night you are invited to attend a gala with your Grandfather. The game picks up as you return to his house in Gritlan. Because it is too far to travel home you decide to stay there for the night. In the middle of the night you hear a young woman being attacked outside. Feeling brave you rush outside to help her. In her bag are three poke' balls. They contain Cyndaquil, Chikorita and Totodile. Once the attacker is defeated you are given the pokemon as a gift.
The next morning you return home and your Grandfather tells your mother to let you journey out with your newly chosen pokemon. Your mum, reluctantly agrees. You go through your adventure gathering badges and rumours of the empire begin to speculate. Once you make it Baratun you discover why the empire has sealled of Latiah's mountains, to try and find the Arkenstone. You leave without anymore information.
The game progresses and you find yourself in Hyria. There you meet Dante, a young man, heir of a royal family forced into hiding by the empire. You learn about the mysetrious powers of the Arkenstone and why the empire seek to gain it. You are then instructed with finding it. For now you shall carry on with your journey.
After defeating the Dracor gym, you learn that there have been attacks on the Latiah's mountain. You then trace through the mountain until you meet the game's main antagonist Reno. You then realise that you have bumped into Reno many times before. You are challnged to a battle with him and hopefully win. Once that is over he runs off with his gang to find "God's tear". When you arrive through to the tear you see Reno attack many people who have took haven there. As you are about to take him down your Dante steps in and takes him down. He's hardcore. With that, Reno awards you your eight badge.
You now have the choice to press onto to a new elite four or retreave three blades from under the lake in a mini-game. Each blade opens one of the already mentioned doorways to reveal secret locations bellow the earth. Dark places of mysetrious power. As you go farrer into these places you will come across a knight-like sprite binded by chains. Using each of their respective blades you cut them free. Unfortunately you must them battle them and they shall join you.
