Chapter 1: Arrival

As she quietly took her bag and prepared to leave, Reni looked back on the room tht had been her home for so many years. She had had so many good times here, and now it was stripped bare for the next person to inhabit. The things that she wasn't taking with her had been sent to her parents, who she doubted even cared where she was going. Silently creeping past her friends rooms (she hated sad goodbyes) she went out to the taxi that was taking her to her grandmothers.

After a days visit at her grandmother's house, Reni found herself at the airport. "Make sure you write occasianly dear, you know how I love hearing from you." said her grandmother. " And please bring me back a pokemon... A Jigglypuff would be nice!" she laughed.
"Don't worry Gran, I will." Reni smiled. Suddenly the loudspeakers informed her that her flight was boarding, and she got onto the plane with a final goodbye to her Grandmother.

The boat trip had been quite uneventful, but Reni could just feel the excitement buzzing in the air. She played some of her FireRed game on her Gameboy SD to pass the time. She was sure it would help a little at some places on her journey. A loud horn sounded, and she looked up past the seasick passengers to an island on the horizon. She had run off right behind a girl slightly green girl who was first in the crowd.

"EXCUSE ME!" a man yelled, causing me to look over at him with excitement. 'Is it finally happening?' I wondered, so excited that I could hardly contain myself. "My name is Dr. Cheung Fung and I am the top researcher of Pokemon known to man. Each of you have been invited here randomly and as far as we know everyone that was invited, RSVP'ed. Therefore I would like you to follow me over to the lab in which each of you will be given a Pokemon , 5 pokeballs, and a Pokedex." As I watched, he started handing out equipment and a Pokemon to the slightly green looking girl in front of me, who then sprinted off. As Reni stepped up for her turn, she thought about the boat trip that bought her here.

Now it was her turn. "Hello there dear! Congratulations on being chosen as one of the first ever pokemon trainers! Here are your Pokeballs," he passed her 5 red and white balls, which she recognised instantly. " And what colour Pokedex would you like?" Reni looked at her options.
"I'll take that blue one, please!" she almost yelled.
" Very good. Now, here is your first Pokemon. It is a Nidoran, the female variety of course! Now, off you go, and good luck!" he said.
" Thank you so much sir!" Reni yelled as she ran off, a new adventure waiting!

PerfectMonster - Nice post, I like how Reni promised her grandmother a pokemon. Anyway Reni received a lvl 5 Nidoran, 5 pokeballs, and a pokedex.

Note - The new chapter will be up tonight.

Chapter 2
Reach for the East or bet for the West?

After exiting Dr. Fung's lab you see a huge banner hanging from two trees. You don't remember seeing the banner when you walked into the lab, but you feel that it is of some importance.

The banner reads, "All Trainers must either head West or East on the island for their first gym matches. No one is permitted to head North or South until you have both the West and East badges. Good Luck!"

As you finish reading this banner you have to make a hard decision on which way you want to go. Note: Each area has it's own unique challenges on the way to the gym, and both area's will be different when you head for your second badge.

For those of you who chose to go East:

You begin heading East through the island forest, and before you realize it the forest is gone. You are now standing in what seems to be a huge open field that could go for miles. Below you is a sign that says, "Welcome to the East Route!" You realize you are on the right track and so you eagerly continue on your way to your first ever real gym battle.

Things to do:
1. Describe why you went East and your new surroundings on the island. Also maybe talk about how you feel about having a real life gym battle. You could even ask yourself who these gym leaders could possibly be.

2. Capture wild pokemon.

3. Battle wild pokemon.

4. Battle a non player character. (You can make up the names of the trainers and pokemon.)

As you finish up with whatever you did in the first post, whether it be battling or capturing, you decide to continue. While walking you come upon a hooded man who is sitting on a very nice wooden bench, but a very random bench at the least. The man's face is bent down facing the ground as if he didn't want to look at you. You continue to walk until you hear the man say "Howdy". You turn back at him and can ask him whatever you like.

The man laughs and says, "I'm a pokemon trainer just like you, but i'm not a new one by any means." This statement confuses you as the man picks up his head. The man looks at you, and you can tell he has been through something out of this world. His face is exhausted, his hair is grey, his eyes are almost pitch white with the slightest shade of green.

"Well" the man begins as he stares at you and begins to stand up. "It's my time to go I guess.." he said as he wondered off into the nearby Forest. As the man walks away you are stunned and consider following him until the ground around you begins to shake.

You turn around and see a group of oddly colored Geodudes surrounding you. The only thing you can do is battle or else your journey is already over.

Post 1
You begin heading West to your First Gym battle, when you spot a huge river running West also. You decide that maybe this River would lead you right to the gym leader and so you begin to follow it. You start noticing that the river gets wider and faster and you hear a rumbling sound up ahead, but you think nothing of it. As you come out of some brush the rumbling noise gets louder and you see that the end of the river is actually a very steep waterfall.

You decide to turn around and maybe head a different way for the gym, but something is behind you. "Hello" a hooded man says, as he pushes you off the cliff and you go falling to the bottom. You either close your eyes and hope you live, or you use your pokemon and try to think up something clever.

No matter what though, you wake up on the shore beside the waterfall and wonder how you got there. You look up to see if the hooded man is still up top, but you see nothing. As you stand up you see a sign that says, "Welcome to the West Route!", and you laugh that your actually still on the right path and so you continue.

Namine's sprint finally came to a stop, leaving the girl panting with her right hand on her knee as the other continued to hold the Pokeball that contained Squirtle. She bit her bottom lip, trying to decide whether or not to let it out - just to test if this was a dream. Pointing the ball away from her, she was about to press the button to release the Pokemon within, when something clicked in her head.

"Where am I?" She asked herself, looking at her surroundings. Attaching the Pokeball to her waist momentarily, she fumbled to find a compass in the small bag of supplies that hung from her waist. After she found one, however, she was suprised to find she had gone West of the dock. With a groan, she put the compass back and looked around for a landmark. Anything to help her find her way around. Noticing something glisten not far to her right, Namine ran over to find a river. A small smile lit over her face, before a small twitch from her one of her Pokeballs alerted her of the situation she was in. Jumping slightly as the same Pokeball twitched again, Namine pulled it off of her belt, accidentally dropping it in the process.
Click! The ball hit the ground and popped back up and, as Namine guessed, opened and released a stream of red energy. This energy quickly took the shape of her Pokemon, and she wait happily for the Pokemon to appear.
"Squirt-" The Pokemon was cut off as Namine suddenly picked it up, laughing as she did so.

"It's true, it's really true! A real Pokemon!!" She exclaimed, swinging the small squirtle around happily. Though the Pokemon seemed disoriented by this, it made no move to scratch her. After a while, however, it didn't have to - as Namine placed it on the ground. "Sorry about that.." She said, laughing nervously.

"Squirt, Squirtle." The Pokemon said, nodding in understanding as it walked closer to the river before diving in. "Squirtle?" It asked, and Namine tilted her head. Was the Pokemon inviting her to swim? After a second of indecision, she quickly jumped in. Because the water was not as deep as she had thought, however, she was able to stand with her shoulders and inch above water.
"Squirtle? Where are you?" She asked, searching for the Turtle Pokemon. Hearing no return call, she began to panic. "Squirtle, where'd you-"

SPLASH!

The sudden shock of being hit with water stunned Namine for a moment, almost stopping her from looking to see just who had splashed her.

"Squirtle squirt!"

Zephyr the West Wind - Nice post. I like how you showed Squirtle's playfullness. Any continue to the next post.

Chapter 2 Post 1 Water safety course!

And so Ian's journey had begun, he took the pokeball that he had just been given and released that pokemon that was inside it.

"Char" The pokemon yelped out loud happily.

Ian who had never really played pokemon when he was little pulled out his pokedex to see what type he had received.

"Charmander, the fire lizard pokemon" The pokedex read aloud as a smile grew across Ian's face.

"Ok Charmander i'm your new trainer, nay im your new partner and friend" Ian as he gave the little guy a high five.

"MANDER! Char!" Charmander shouted aloud as he quickly jumped ontop of Ian's right shoulder.

"Well you need a nickname, hmmm I think i'll call you blaze! So let's get moving to our first gym battle blaze!" Ian said and with that the two took off. After a few moments of walking Ian came across a sign that pointed in two different directions towards the East Gym, or towards the West Gym. Ian turned his head back to Blaze. "Well since were in this together you chose which way" and with that Blaze pointed towards the west.

"Char! Mander!" Blaze shouted excitedly as the two had finally decided on a path to take.

"Well this is where our fate begins, lets hope it goes well" Ian said as the two took off in the direction of the west gym.

After about fifteen minutes of walking, the two of them came upon a stream which look to lead in the exact same direction as the path.

"Guess it couldn't hurt to follow this stream" Ian said as Blaze nodded in agreement. At the exact same time though Blaze was shot off Ian's shoulder by a splash of water coming out of the stream. Ian quickly turned to see a a star shaped creature in the water and he quickly pulled his pokedex from his bag as Blaze stood to his feet.

"Staryu, the star fish pokemon" the pokedex read outloud once more.

"Ah, this may be tricky Blaze you have no long distance attacks, and your weak against water" Ian said with a stumped look on his face, when at the same time he noticed a floating log in the water, and a small grin came across his face. "OK nothing to worry about Blaze quickly jump to that log in the water!" Ian orderd as Blaze jumped off the shore dodging Staryus water gun attacks and landing safely on the log.

As Blaze began to struggle with balance the staryu began to make it even more difficult on him by blasting water gun after water gun, suddenly Blaze slipped and fell directly onto his stomach clinging for it's life. Blaze and Ian both knew that if he fell in the water his tail flame would go out... Meaning death. Ian felt this was his fault for being careless and an angered look came across his face. He noticed a few tiny rocks at his feet and began chucking them at the Staryu trying to take it's attention away from Blaze so he could regain his balance.

"Hey you stupid Star fish, pick on someone more your match!" Ian said chucking another rock but it was quickly defelcted by a water gun attack which then hit Ian square in the chest causing him to fall back on his butt. Then a grin grew across his face. "NOW BLAZE SCRATCH!" Ian ordered as Blaze had regained his balance and qucikly sprung off the log before Staryu could turn around and scratch him hard in the back before pushing off with his other hand and landing safely on the shore next to Ian.

"Now your mine!" Ian shouted as he stood up and grabbed a pokeball from his bag chucking it at the stunned staryu, the ball then landed on shore and began shaking back and forth.

"Good job Blaze, just think if we can catch this Staryu it seemed to be pretty strong!" Ian said and with that the two of them waited to see what would happen.

Namine's sprint finally came to a stop, leaving the girl panting with her right hand on her knee as the other continued to hold the Pokeball that contained Squirtle. She bit her bottom lip, trying to decide whether or not to let it out - just to test if this was a dream. After she found one, however, she was suprised to find she had gone West of the dock. With a groan, she put the compass back and looked around for a landmark. Anything to help her find her way around. But then again, she also recalled a banner telling the new trainers to go either East or West. Noticing something glisten not far to her right, Namine ran over to find a river. A small smile appeared on her face, before a small twitch from her one of her Pokeballs alerted her of the situation she was in.

After a while, however, it didn't have to - as Namine placed it on the ground. "Sorry about that..." She said, laughing nervously.

"Squirt, Squirtle." The Pokemon said, nodding in understanding as it walked closer to the river before diving in. "Squirtle?" It asked, and Namine tilted her head. Was the Pokemon inviting her to swim? After a second of indecision, she quickly jumped in.

All of this splashing eventually ended in Namine sitting on a rock near the edge of the river as Squirtle swam around.

"Ne, Squirtle?" Namine called, waving to her Pokemon. "Are you ready to continue on?" As soon as the Pokemon nodded, she pulled her Pokeball out and withdrew him, smiling at the Pokeball as she got up and started to follow the river. "I hope this river leads to a town....Or maybe even a mini-restraunt..." She said to herself, although she laughed at her own silly thoughts. As she walked on, Namine soon began to notice the river grew wider. When the waterfall finally appeared, Namine gaped at the sheer size. Then again, she had never seen an actual water fall except on TV, postcards, or the computer, so her surprise wasn't all that strange. Namine quickly ran over to the waterfall, peering over the side and laughing in amazement. "It's so high up!" She exclaimed, excitement written clearly across her face. Preferably on her forehead, if you want to be literal. Finding a small stone beside her, she picked it up before looking back over the edge. "Here goes nothing!" With that, she dropped the rock. Satisfied when she saw it hit the water below seconds later, she turned back around…Only to find a strange hooded man in front of her.

"Hello," He said simply.

"Well, hi-" She was cut off, however, when the same man suddenly pushed her…Right off the edge of the cliff. Stunned by this strange act, Namine could only reach out towards the man, but miss as she fell. A short scream erupted from her before she managed to grab the Pokeball containing Squirtle. Turning to face the sky, Namine threw the ball ahead of her, watching with mild satisfaction as Squirtle appeared. As the Pokemon finally reached her, panicking all the while, Namine whispered into his ear. "Be safe," and then she simply pushed him into the waterfall. Squirtle quickly fell with the water, but Namine knew the Pokemon would be fine…Or at least she hoped. Instead of looking for a way to escape, she merely turned and covered her head as she hit the water.

[[This sounded so weird at the end. I'll continue tomorrow]]

SacredBeo - Great post, I like how the Staryu was kind of mocking. Any Ian caught a level 5 Staryu.

Zephyr of the West Wind - The post is good so far. I will wait for you to continue it before I grade since you will possibly be catching a pokemon in the second half of the post.

A sharp pain was was woke Namine up, although she didn't open her eyes. When Squirtle poked her, however, her eyes opening with such speed that the Pokemon flinched.
"Squirtle, squirt?" He asked, the Pokemon clearly wondering whether she was alright. Namine stared at the Pokemon silently. Had Squirtle saved her? Smiling, Namine patted Squirtle's head before wincing as she stood up. The Pokemon wandered close to her side, touching her leg as if to make sure she didn't fall.

"I'm fine, Squirtle." Namine reassured the Pokemon before pulling out a new Pokeball as she realized that she could find Squirtle's. "Sorry about your other Pokeball, but we'll just have to use a new-"

"Kakuna Kakuna Kakuna!" At the sudden cries, Namine quickly spun around - to find a Kakuna hanging from a tree. "Kakuna." The Pokemon regarded her with little care, and Namine's eyes widened a fraction as an idea formed in her mind.

"Hey, Squirtle....Would you mind?" She asked, pointing to the Kakuna. Squirtle seemed to understand, because he tried running at the Kakuna to use scratch - but to no avail as the Bug Pokemon was too high up. "Come on, Squirtle! Use Scratch one more time!" The Turtle Pokemon finally managed to reach the height of the Kakuna, but the Bug type merely swung itself to one side at the last minute - causing Squirtle to miss. Squirtle landed on the ground with a soft thud, turning to Namine with a look of exasperation.
Namine's expression, however, told him to continue on. "Come on, Squirtle! You can do it!! I know you'll think of something!" She smiled at her Pokemon, who gave her a fierce nod. Jumping up once more with another Scratch, Squirtle aimed directly at the Kakuna. And just as the Kakuna was about to dodge it once again, an idea formed in Namine's mind. "Squirtle, use Tail Whip now!" Though she had only known Tail Whip to be a move that lowered Defense in her Pokemon game, the same occurred in real life as Squirtle twisted and smacked the Kakuna with his tail. She could only pray that the move would knock the Pokemon off the tree. Without the tree to keep it high above the ground, the Kakuna would be all but defenseless.
Squirtle's face turned into one of elated joy as the Bug Pokemon fell, hitting the ground with an unmerciful thud. Squirtle landed beside it, awaiting Namine's orders. She jogged over, while ordering one more attack at the same time. "Not too hard, okay?" She said as Squirtle landed a softer Scratch. The bug Pokemon lay there weakly as Namine tossed the Pokeball towards it.
The second it was in the Pokeball, however, Namine could only watch as the Pokeball tottered from side to side.

"Ding" the pokeball rang aloud as Ian realized he had just successfully captured the staryu.

"Alright! Thats a confidence booster ha, alright Blaze time to get back into your pokeball boy" Ian said returning Blaze into his ball then picking Staryus up and clipping them on his belt. Ian then started follwing the stream towards the west gym. A few moments later he came upon a beatuiful site, it was a huge waterfall going over a cliff.

"Woah this place really is quite beautiful" Ian said in awe as he then heard footsteps behind him and swiftly turned around in time to see a cloaked man.

"Hello, goodbye" the man said as all Ian could see of his face was an evil grin he then pushed Ian over the waterfall. He was now rushing towards what could only be describe as his death when suddenly it hit him, he unclipped Staryu's pokeball and released it into his arms then somehow managed to make his way into the water fall.

"NOW STARYU GLIDE US DOWN!!" He ordered in a hurry as Staryu then swiftly started to swim upwards the waterfall just to slow them down slow enough to coushin there fall.

"SPLASH!" sounded as the two of them landed in the water semi-hard before Ian popped out still grasping for his life on staryu.

"Good job!" He said happily glad that he just caught the staryu a moment ago. The two of them made there way over to the shore line and climbed up. He then returned Staryu to it's pokeball and laid back taking a deep sigh feeling lucky to be alive. He then gazed up above the cliff hoping to still see that man. But he was gone.

"Who was that guy?" he asked puzzled. That was the least of his worries now though as he started hearing a bunch of wizzing noises and looked over to see that when he landed in the water he actually drenched a tree next to stream.

"That doesn't sound good" he said as all at once ten kakuna's and metapods dropped from the tree and began shooting string shots at him, thinking quickly he called tossed out both his pokemon before being tied up by a string shot.

"Char!" Blaze screamed as he quickly untied his trainer.

"Thanks Blaze now use scratch on that metapod, Staryu water gun on that Kakuna!" he ordered as the two of them attacked, but to Ian's surprise the wild pokemon took no damage. He quickly pulled out his pokedex once again.

"Kakuna, and Metapod have one single defense from intruders and that is the move harden" the pokedex read aloud.

"Ah there using harden!" Ian shouted as he then looked at the flame on Blaze's tail. "I've got it! Blaze light the tree on fire with your tail!" Ian shouted as Blaze ran over to the tree and put his flame to it causing it to lite on fire. The fire quickly spread to the Kakuna's and Metapods causing them to drop from the trees and faint.

"Ok now Staryu use water gun to put the flames out before it spreads!" Ian ordered with a grin as Staryu shot a powerful stream of water at the tree on fire, quickly douncing it. "Good job guys" He said with a smile proud of his team he then returned them and clipped the balls to his belt before continuing towards his first gym.

While on his way he started to think about he lucky it was he had just caught that staryu since it saved his life, he began to think maybe it was fate?

Zephyr of the West Wind - Nice post, I like how you showed Squirtle's and Namine's inexperience. Namine caught a level 5 Kakuna! Squirtle grew to level 7 and learned bubble.

SacredBeo - Great post! Using Staryu to glide down the waterfall was a good tactic. Staryu grew to level 7 and learned Water Gun. Blaze grew to level 8 and learned ember.

Note: As soon as Manganum and PerfectMonster post atleast once, I will put up the new chapter.

Chapter 2 (Part 1): Eastern Adventures

Reni ran through the forest, following the newly beaten path. This was amazing! Far from home, on an adventure with a real Pokemon! Suddenly Reni remembered that she hadn't even checked to see what the Pokemon was, so she stopped and quickly pulled the pokeball off of her belt. She stared at it when it occured to her she didn't know how to open it.

"Oh man!" Reni cried, "Maybe I should just throw it...?" She pulled back her arm, aimed it at a nearby tree and threw it. It rebounded off the tree onto the ground, where the top half opened and a bright red light spilled out. "Please be something good, please be something good...." Reni chanted hopefully while the light formed. She closed her eyes and suddenly heard a loud "Nido!" Reni's eyes opened in a flash, and standing in front of her was a small, light blue rabbit looking thing.

" Oh my god, it's real!" cried Reni, running up to the Nidoran. She picked it up and gave it a cuddle before setting it down. "Hi there Nidoran!" she said, "I'm your new trainer!"
"Nid, Nidoran!" it cried happily, as it nuzzled her jeans. Reni scanned it with her new Pokedex. After beeping a few times, it said:

NIDORAN, THE POISON PIN POKEMON. THE POISON HIDDEN IN ITS SMALL HORN IS EXTREMELY POTENT. EVEN A TINY SCRATCH CAN HAVE FATAL RESULTS. THIS ONE'S KNOWN MOVES ARE: GROWL AND SCRATCH. ITS SPECIAL ABILITY IS POISON POINT: THE OPPONENT HAS A CHANCE OF BEING POISONED UPON A PHYSICAL ATTACK.

After the two had fully introduced themselves, they once again walked down the path, noticing a small group of other trainers gathered in one spot. She picked up Nidoran and walked through up to where they were standing. Hanging above their heads was a banner that boldly proclaimed:
"All Trainers must either head West or East on the island for their first gym matches. No one is permitted to head North or South until you have both the West and East badges. Good Luck!"

"Which way should we go Nidoran?" wondered Reni as she stared at the fork in the road. It jumped out of her hands and ran along the east path, turning and calling for her to follow. "Ok, but all the other trainers are coming, so we should be quick if we want to be the first to get that badge!"She ran along the east path with her new Pokemon beside her.

A little while later, the path led them out of the forest and into a large, seemingly endless plain. "Wait a minute...Are we on the right track?" pondered Reni. Then she saw a sign to her left saying:
"Welcome to the East Route!"
"Oh, we are going the right way. C'mon, lets keep going." Reni said. No sooner had they taken a few steps than they heard a small cry from their right. "Sandshrew!"

Reni turned, and poking out of a small hole was a real live Sandshrew. Quickly, Reni pullled out her pokedex and scannned the top half of the creature. It beeped a few times and said:

SANDSHREW, THE MOUSE POKEMON. SANDSHREW HATES MOISTURE AND LIVES IN HOLES IT DIGS IN DRY PLACES. IT PROTECTS ITSELF BY CURLING INTO A BALL. THIS ONE'S KNOWN MOVES ARE: SCRATCH AND DEFENCE CURL

"Oh, wow! It's so cute!" Reni looked at Nidoran. "Say, why don't we try to catch a Pokemon? I've always wanted to do this!" she smiled and faced the Sandshrew and Nidoran jumped in front of it. "Ok, Nidoran, use Scratch!" Nidoran leapt at the unaware Sandshrew with a cry, swiping at it with its claws. She hit it right in the gut, sending it sprawling. The Sandshrew got back up, angry now, and retaliated with a scratch attack on its own. It's attack was more powerful, and left red marks on Nidoran's face.

"Nidoran! Are you ok?" Reni cried. Nidoran jumped back up with a determined cry. "Use Growl to lower it's attack!" Reni commanded. Nidoran steeled itself, and then let out a loud, threatening growl that supposedly made Sandshrew's attack weaker. Suddenly, it leapt at them again, scratching Nidoran right across the horn. As it stumbled back, it began to shake, and fell to the ground in pain.

"What's going on?" wondered Reni. "Ohhh, it must be your ability, Nidoran! He scratched you right across the horn and it poisoned him!" Reni grabbed a Pokeball out of her bag and aimed carefully, then threw it at the near unconsious Sandshrew. It hit it on the head and bounced up, swallowing it in a red light. Then it was gone, and there was only the pokeball on the ground, shaking and ringing dimly...

((OCC: I am done! Howzat!!!))

PerfectMonster - Great post! Nidoran grew to level six, and Reni caught a level 5 Sandshrew. Continue on to post two.

Chapter 2 (Part 2): The Strange Stranger

Ding! Reni bent down and picked up the now unmoving Pokeball. "Oh my god, that was AWESOME!!!" she yelled as she and Nidoran danced in a little circle like maniacs. "You were great Nidoran!"
"Nido!" smiled Nidoran. Reni threw the ball and in a flash of white light, her new Sandshrew was sitting on the ground in front of her. It stood up and looked at her, accepting it's future without a question. Reni sucked both of her new Pokemon back into their balls, clipped them to her belt and kept walking, intent on reaching the first town.

After a few minutes of walking, Reni spotted a surprisingly nice but just as random park bench on the side of the road. As she came closer, she noticed a man sitting on it. He was wearing a large brown overcoat that covered his back. He had jeans and a plain white shirt. The clothes were very dirty for some reason. His head was bent down to the ground, as if he was having a staring contest with it. Reni considered talking to him, but decided not to. He looked happy. She kept walking down the path.

"Howdy," the man abruptly said. She turned to him, startled, and walked a few steps closer.

"Umm... Hi," she responded uncertainly, "Are you some kind of hobo or something?" Reni realised what she had just said, and prepared to apologise when the man laughed.

"I'm a Pokemon trainer just like you, but i'm not a new one by any means." he picked up his head and looked at her. 'What is with this guy?' Reni thought. 'Does he mean he was on this island before us...?' He looked at her, and she could instantly tell that he had been through something incredible. His face was exhausted, his hair was grey and his eyes were almost pure white with a slight hint of green. All in all, he looked very shook up indeed.

"Well," the man says, picking himself up off the bench, "It's my time to go, I guess." He turned her back on the confused girl and walked off towards the forest Reni had just come from.
"Hey, wait a minute!" Reni cried, weirded out. Maybe she could follow him, press him for answers to the questions he had put in her head. But just as she took a step towards the retreating figure, the ground began to shake. "Whoa, what's that?" She pulled the pokeballs off of her belt and threw them onto the ground, releasing Nidoran and Sandshrew in case of attack. Then she turned around and saw the threat.

Coming out of the ground towards her were four Geodude. Once again, Reni was astounded that they were actually real, and not the design of some random company. As they surrounded her, Reni noticed that they weren't their normal brown colour. They were orange, what people called a 'shiny' Pokemon. Reni couldn't believe her luck. She pulled a pokeball out of her bag and yelled, "Nidoran, use Tackle on one of those Geodude!" Nidoran jumped at one, but two others smashed her out of the way while the other one knocked the pokeball out of Reni's hand.

"Looks like we're gonna have to fight guys..." she said as the Geodude surrounded them again. "Ok, Nidoran, use Growl to lower their attacks! Then Tackle that Geodude and Sandshrew, dig down and come up behind it!" Sandshrew disappeared into the ground as Nidoran ran at a Geodude, ramming into it hard enough to send it flying back. Sandshrew popped up behind it and scratched it as it came flying past him. It was down for the count! The other three Geodudes lunged at the two Pokemon as they Tackled and Scratched as their lives depended on it.

A Geodude Tackled Nidoran as the other two hit Sandshrew from both sides, sandwiching him. "Come on Sandshrew, you can do it!" Reni cried. As Nidoran and Sandshrew pulled themselves together, the Geodudes all used Mud Sport. Mud splashed up from the ground and rained on the Geodudes. It was a useless attack, but it gave Reni an idea.

"Sandshrew, round up the Geodudes into one spot! Nidoran, spill some poison on that mud and dirt!" she yelled. Sandshrew disappeared underground and came up a few seconds later in front of one of the Geodude, scratching it in the face. It stumbled back a bit. Sandshrew scratched repeatedly until it was close to another Geodude. Nidoran ran up behind the stray one and sent it flying back into the other two. As she had hoped, the three Geodudes used Mud Sport again, sending poisoned mud flying everywhere. As it landed on them, they became poisoned.

"Great job guys!" Reni laughed. "Now, finish it off! Hit the bench into them!" Nidoran and Sandshrew ran behind the park bench the man had been sitting on before. Nidoran rammed it with a Tackle attack in the direction of the Geodudes. As it went, Sandshrew leapt past, using a Scratch attack on the bench and turning it into a heap of sharp broken wood. It hit the Geodudes and they fainted, leaving Reni and her Pokemon the victors.

"Wow, you guys were great!" Reni said, hugging her two Pokemon. They smiled and hugged her back, crying 'Shrew!' and 'Nido!'. Reni looked down on the unconcious Geodudes. "Maybe we should leave, before they wake up." she suggested, sending her Pokemon back into their balls. Then Reni turned and continued to follow the path, pondering the strange man and the fantastic battle.

After defeating the group of Geodudes, you decide to continue on your path and not worry about the strange events that just happened. You finally reach the end of the open field and see that the only thing in front of you is a very dark cave. A sign outside the cave opening tells you that this is the correct way and so you enter.

Post 2

After catching a pokemon, or battling you continue on your way through the cave hoping to get out but the only thing you find is the rest of the cave path blocked by huge boulders. You decide that maybe your pokemon can help and so you toss out whichever or however many of your pokemon you think you'll need to help.

As your pokemon start to move the rocks you hear a steady pounding coming from the other side. Before you can even ponder anything about it, the rocks from the blockage are thrown throughout the cave and a rhyhorn comes stampeding through.

Chapter 3 (West Route Travellers)
Mew? (1 post)
Post 1

After barley escaping death, you continued on your journey to the West Gym. While continuning to follow the River at the bottom of the waterfall, you notice that the sceneary around you has changed. It now seems as if you are on a tropical island and this really confuses you because so far the rest of the island just had regular type forest.

As the sun beats down you realize it is also a lot hotter and you decide to take a break. You make your way to the river to wipe your face when you hear a tiny cry from above you. As you look up you see a pink little pokemon with a tail, floating in the air. To your astonishment you recognize this pokemon as the legendary Mew, and you are amazed beyond belife.

The mew swirls around your head and then flies across the river waving at you, almost as if it wanted you to follow. So you decide that maybe you should follow it and so you jump across the river and begin your chase.

You see the Mew ahead and continue after it, but somehow it escapes you as you end up in what seems to be a dead end. But then something else catches your eye, a picture carved into the wall of a cliff right in front of your eyes. You go up next to the picture and decide to examine it.

As you peer at the picture you are a little confused about what it is.
The carving shows two men staring at each other…the only thing is…the two figures look like the characters Red and Green from the original games.

While you are taken aback by what you have just seen carved into a stone wall, you hear someone walking towards you. You stand up abruptly and turn around, but no one is there.

Things to do:
1. Discuss how you feel after the events you have just been through this early on your journey. Talk about how tired you may be from it.

2. How do you feel about seeing Mew and what kind of ideas pop into your head.

3. When you see the carving, discuss what is running through your mind and what this could possibly mean.

4. Are you freightened by the foot steps, or just confused.

Post 2

You decide not to stick around the area you are in, and walk back to the river. Ian was now peacefully sitting against a tree along the stream he had been following for what seemed like hours. His body was tired, he had battled and caught a Staryu, then survived being pushed over a cliff and waterfall, only to be attacked by stupid cocoon like pokemon.

"Sigh" Ian said out loud as he began petting Blaze who was curled up peacefully on his lap. There was something different about this island, although everything seemed so real he was questioning the authenticity of it's actually life likeness. Blaze lifted his head as Ian realized he was now awake, and had enough resting no matter the questions he had they wouldn't be answered by just sitting here.

"Char!" Blaze yawned as Ian returned him to his pokeball and stood up clipping it to his belt.

"Guess we should continue on then!" Ian said as he began truddging along the stream path when suddenly the sceneary slowly changed around him and it seemed as though he was standing in the middle of the rain forest.

"Ok now this is just ridiculous!" Ian shouted as he still kept walking, in all honesty he was amazed at the sight of the forest now, it was beautiful.

After about an hour of traveling Ian started to realize that it was hotter now then before, and he believed it to be due to the change in sceneary and the density and humidity of all the trees around him.

"This sucks but i'm going to have to take another break now" Ian sighed sitting down against another tree. He was breathing heavily and he hated it, but ether way he knew he couldn't rest for long it was probably going to be getting dark soon or so he thought, who really knows with this place. With that he started dozing off, until finally he was asleep.

"mew…, mew…" a strange soft voice whispered in the direction of Ian and for some reason he was awoken to find a small pink cat looking thing floating in the air, however it was an awesome sight. It was almost as if it was glowing and just hovering there using no effort at all to move. Ian pulled out his pokedex quickly, he still wasn't very good with remembering types of pokemon.

"Mew, not much is known about this pokemon, it is considered legendary" the pokedex read aloud as the Mew started waving it's arm as if it wanted Ian to follow it. Ian quickly jumped to his feet and headed in the same direction as the Mew.

"Woah a legendary pokemon, this could be my chance to get ahead of the game by catching it!" Ian whispered to himself still running after the Mew, one question entered his mind where exactly was it taking him? Finally after a long time of running Ian had lost the Mew, and seemed to be at a dead end…

"Was I just imaging that?" He said as he stepped backwards and tripped over a root in the ground causing him to fall forward and that's when he noticed it. In front of him was a strange stone type wall with two figures carved into it.

Ian didn't have to be a genius to know that the two figures carved into the wall were none other then the two basic figures of the pokemon video game franchise.

"Red, and Green?" Ian said in a puzzled voice. If this island was real then why were the two characters from the games carved into a stone wall in the middle of the forest?

Suddenly something behind him moved with heavy footsteps and Ian turned quickly around only to find nothing there. Now even more thoughts were going through his mind like, who was that cloaked man from earlier? Was he the same person who seemed to be following him? And why exactly did Mew lead him here?

SacredBeo - Nice post, you really showed the confusion in Ian. You can work on post 2.

Chapter 3 (Part 1): A Bump in the Road!

Reni continued to walk down the seemingly never ending path across the plain, thinking about past events. First of all, what was with that weird man? He said he wasn't a new Pokemon trainer. Did that mean he was here before us? How did he survive? Another thought occured to her; maybe the man was the famous Jack Herus! But what would he be doing back on the island? And what was wrong with him? He looked like something incredible had happened to him. Will I have to face it too?

And those Geodude, the ones who attacked her. Usually, shinies were the rarest thing in a Pokemon game, but she had seen four! Four of them at once. And they had attacked her. Why would they do that? What was going on?

"Woah, woah, woah!" Reni exclaimed, "Too many questions! Maybe I should just forget about it all. Yeah...I'll do that! First gym, here I come!" She started running down the road, forgetting all about her worries. This was an adventure! Of course weird things were going to happen, especially in a place like this.

On the horizon, Reni spotted a few large, dark shadows. Mountains! Finally, a change of scenery. About half an hour later, Reni slumped down on the path in front of a huge, dark cave leading into the mountains.

"Oh man, I hope I don't have to go through there. It's so dark! Maybe there's another way." she pondered. She glanced to her right, and then to her left. From what she could see, the side of the mountain went on forever. It would take much to long to get around or over it. And besides, the path led into the cave. In such a strange place, it would probably be wise to stick to it.

Reni pushed on and a few steps into the dark, beast like mouth of the cave, she spotted a sign, faintly visable. It had an arrow pointing into the cave. So she continued into the dark abyss. After a few minutes of walking, she heard some cries in the cave. 'Zuzuubat'. They echoed off the walls around her, and sounded like they were seemingly all around her. Creeped, she decided to bring out some company.

"Come on out, Nidoran!" she cried, throwing her pokeball. The flash of white light blinded her, and when she opened them again, she could faintly see Nidoran's outline. "Come up here, Nidoran. This place gives me the creeps." She picked Nidoran out and continued along. As she turned a corner, she sighted torches on the walls, following the path. Finally, some light! Although it didn't help much, it did allow her to see where she was going, and so she continued.

Suddenly, she pitched forward as something caught her foot, and went sprawling. Nidoran flew out of her arms with a cry. Reni quickly picked herself up again and turned to look at what had tripped her. It was a small, brown, domish shaped Pokemon with a cute pink nose. A Diglett! It laughed at her fall, giggling histerically.

"Oh, so you think that was funny, do you? Well, Nidoran, use Tackle!" Nidoran charged at the little creature....only to run into nothing at all. As Nidoran looked around for the missing pest, a small 'Dig!' sound came from Reni's right. "There it is Nidoran! Hit it again!" But once again, Nidoran's attack found no victim. 'Dig!' came a small laugh behind her.

Nidoran seemed to boil, and in an angry rage, began charging all around the cave, chasing the Diglett. Finally, the little Diglett became too cocky, poking it's tounge out and giving Nidoran that second it needed to hit it right in the face. 'Diggle!' it cried. Now it was hurt. And mad. It launched sand into Nidoran's face, appearing behind it moments later and using a Scratch attack.

"Nidoran, look out!" Reni cried, as Diglett repeatedly popped up and damaging her Pokemon. "Nidoran, to your left!" Nidoran, trusting it's trainer, launched a tackle attack to it's left side, once again hitting it in the face. This time it drooped, and with a small mumble of pain, fainted.

"Good job Nidoran!" said Reni, "Now let's get out of here, befo- oh crap." Suddenly, out of all of the holes scattered around the cave, tones of Diglett popped out, angry at the defeat of their friend. "Run Nidoran!" Reni screamed, already halfway to the corner. And they did, yelling in suprise all of the way.
