My First Post. WooHoo. And unfortunately, its no the cheeriest of posts. So, to start, even though i'm almost 17, i have no fear in admitting i still like to sit down and watch a good old episode of Pokemon. Why? Because it was my childhood is why. As a kid, there was nothing more satisfying, than getting home from school, just in time to see the new episode of pokemon released on channel 3, and going into school the next day, and discussing it with your best friends. Pokemon had taken the world by storm. And EVERYONE wanted a piece of it. We used to take our gameboy color's into school and like to see who had the best charizard. That aside, pokemon just got even better when Gold, Silver and Crystal came along (that includes the TV series). So all was well, untill Pokemon Advanced Came along. The games were plentiful and good, so i'll leave them be. But the anime series ruined me. Yes it was a new era of pokemon but come on. A new theme tune which sounds like, 4kids just picked up wanabee rapper from the street and asked him to do the theme tune?. I was not happy. Team Rocket also, as we progressed onto more new series, team rocket got old, old indeed. Team Rocket are still the good old comedy relief as before but, far too often, every episode, team rocket, come in, try to steal pokemon, and get sent home BUT it was more silly than the original evil, elegant, learned james, and the sassy, fiery Jessy, and the cute little, clawed feline Meowth. Now, they are just pathetic. Jessy and James seem to take on a new pokemon every 5 minutes and it it to there little motto, OH YES! The Motto. They changed it, THEY CHANGED IT!!!!, COME ON! I bet you there isn't a person out there who couldn't stand up and recite the infamous team rocket motto that everyone loved and got chills when team Rocket appeared. But they changed it. Yes it was even changed in japan but was slightly less pathetic, 4KIDS on the other hand, screwed up big time....as usual *Yu-Gi-Oh Cough!!*. So, when i heard this, my childhood basically crumbled form underneath me. thanks for that. Back on to the theme tunes, the original theme tune was a soul filled, rocky, catchy, emotional ballad which always gets to me with nostalgia, the new rap songs destroy a little piece of me inside everytime i hear them, and it didnt get any better in the diamond and pearl series of the anime. Yes ash and the other characters must have grown older by now, so a few of them have new voices, cant blame them, ash being ageless would just be silly, BUT ash seems to have evolved into some sort of throat cancer victim, he also seems so emotionless and not enthusiastic anymore. WHERE IS THE ASH THAT WOULD GIVE HIS HEART AND SOUL FOR ANY POKEMON IN EXISTENCE???. Oh yeah, he grew up into a boring adult, hooray for him. So, in a nutshell, pokemon has changed far too much IMO. Opinions? I could have said more, but you get my drift.....

    *crushed beneath wall of text*

All joking aside though, this is precisely why I stopped watching the pokemon anime. It deviates too much from the games and generally misrepresents them in a way. >_>

    amen my man, amen xD

just about everything u said i have said before too xD

I have just learned to accept the fact that over the years good shows are eventually ruined. I just hold on to the old episodes. :'(

I like the changes. All of them. The voice changes, the grop members, the motto, the Pokémon, everything. Also, Ash is 10 just like Misty, May and Dawn.

You want to hear Vernica Taylor? Watch Word Word or Dinosaur King. She plays Sheep, using her Ash, May, and April voices, and Max, using her Ash voice. Rachel Lillis? She voices Ursala in Dinosaur King with her Jessie voice. There are many of them doing roles with those nostalgic voices you liked. You know what else? You could watch seasons 1 thru 8 to get those nostalgic voices again.

I'm not trying to be mean to you but times have changed and there's really no use in trying to stay in the past.

I don't mind the changes either, i welcome them. You gotta remember you have to change things from time to time, you can't have the same thing all the time.
