Hi there! In an effort to learn C# and Unity, I've decided to take an idea I've had for a ROM hack for a long time, and turn it into a standalone Pokemon game: Pokemon Atlas!
Basic Storyline (Subject to change)
Pokemon Atlas takes place around the Mediterranean , in a world where pokemon roam the land both with and without trainers. Inspired heavily by Greek mythology, the player journeys through
Greece and Rome, later setting sail on ship across the seas. The player soon discovers that the Pillars of Hercules, which held up the sky after the liberation of the Titan Atlas, are beginning to fail.
Guided by the Oracle, the player sets off on a quest to gain the favor of gods and pokemon alike, find why the Pillars are failing, and prevent the heavens from falling to the Earth.
Beginning:
From here, the player will be off to Mt. Olympus, where the real quest begins. Engaging with gods, working with legendary pokemon, sailing across the Mediterranean on
Kindgra drawn ships, fighting Giants and Titans, the player will find plenty to do. Atlas, the Titan who was once forced to hold up the sky, plays a key role in solving this
mystery and often works alongside the player.
Planned Features:
- Standalone EXE
- All Pokemon
- Physical/Special Split
- Mega Evolutions
- Semi Open World Sea
- Difficulty Options
- Don't know what else lol
As far as current development, as I've said, I'm new to unity and C#. That said, I have programming experience and have made basic games in other languages.
Currently, I've got a simple map where the player can walk around and bump into houses. Not exactly too much progress.
If there are any resources for this type of project, I'd love to look into it more, and I'd also love to work with anybody interested in any aspect of this development. These are pretty rough plans that I
laid out here, so feel free to leave any suggestions you've got.
Thanks!

Beginning:
After a dream in which the player watches the sun and stars falling to the ground, the local expert on Pokemon History, Professor Cypress, sends the hero to the Oracle.
Pillars yield to the old fix, as Heaven yearns to meet the Earth
Strife and sacrifice, the hero bears to prove their worth
Heaven's children stand against the hero and his quest
Divine favor paves the way to glory in the west
Time, Space, and Chaos rank with turmoil and corruption
The hero's answer waits atop the burying eruption
Should against all odds the Earth be stopped in her pursuit
A painful burden may resolve to not be absolute
While not all is immediately clear, Professor Cyprus gathers that the burying eruption is likely the ancient city of Pompeii. She sends you south from Thebes to Athens, home to
the great temples of the Olympians, to search for divine guidance.
