Hi all pokefans, pokemaniacs, and especially Pokeplayers!
This thread is to introduce you to the hack I'm starting working at. I will try to make this thread short as there will be poll description here that I will remove after about one month to save space on this page.
Maybe you guessed from the name but the game will take place at new region namely Fieland - inspired by Poland.
Also other important features will include:
Charmander, Rowlet and Popplio as starters
Daytime system (day-night cycle shortened to 6 hours IRL)
Trade evolution changed (mostly to trade stone evolution)
Mega evolution
Reusable TMs
Pokemon from all generations available (no fakemons).
National dex from the very beginning.
HMs not needed to complete the storyline (bonus free items etc., mostly healing items accessible with HM usage. But no (main) quest item [except some hidden/side/postgame quests] will require any HM.)
Physical/Special Split
pokeGear (or something alike being both phone, VsSeeker and more)
multiple rivals
new evil team
gyms not being usual type specialists
Instead of type specialists gyms are more like theme specialists (based on which the original city is (?) famous for). This is to make it harder to just sweep through the gym with one super effective sweeper. The Pokémon will count to theme if it is clearly based (visually) on something that is related to the theme or its dex entries will fit into theme as long as these will not contradict each other. Entries comparison will include all generations the Pokémon is available on.
And the last one is where the poll begins: OUT OF THE CITIES I'VE CHOOSEN FOR 8 GYMS PLEASE CHOOSE THE ONE YOU LIKE THE MOST. THE MORE VOTES THE LATER (AND HARDER) THE GYM WILL BE PLACED IN GAME.
Krotoszyn – Brothers Paczków who are Polish (and Europe) sumo champions are living there. The gym will be sumo themed. All the trainers are to use 'sumo-like' (bipedal fat) pokemon. The gym leaders are most likely to use Snorlax and Hariyama in double battle. Also some other possible sumo (fat) pokemon candidates like Slaking or (maybe) miltank. Slim pokemon are not to be found in this Gym. bipedal pokemon who are not fat at first glance will be based on its weight, (so golem may count, I need to chek) BTW this is my hometown so it was bound to be included even though it's neither big nor famous in Poland XD.
Janów Podlaski – "Pride of Poland" horse auction is taking place there each year. Pokemon used by gym trainers are all, of course, horses/mules sometimes filled with other quadrupedal AND hooved animals. mostly you will find zebistrike, rapisash (both regional forms) etc here. As an additional value to the 'auction' part some money/riches related Pokémon may be included, but as a small addition instead of main battle power.
Poznań – Goats on town Hall. However since only gogoat line could meet those requirements the theme will be… food. Poznań most famous street is "święty Marcin" ("saint Martin"), there is "street's name day" each year, carnival and saint Martin's croissant. The Famous Poznań sweet. So pokemon in this gym will be food-based or food-related.
Kraków – Wawel dragon. The story, to make it as short as possible goes like this: a big bad dragon was killed by a shoemaker who tricked it into eating sulfur-filled sheep. So the pokemon in this gym are dragon shaped (not necessarily dragon type) or sheep shaped.
Kruszwica – famous for mouse tower. So of course all kinds of mice and rodents. Rattata, marill, pikachu, sentret, dedenne, etc. Everything that looks like a mouse/squirrel will suffice.
Gdańsk/Gdynia/Sopot (3 Cities close to each other which are often considered one and commonly called "Trójmiasto" which literally means "Tripletcity"). The "Solidarność" (the symbpol of communism end) is said to be born here. So All pokemon will be "solidarity" which means that they will either be multiple pokemon fused together like dugtrio, metagross, magneton slowbro etc or should complement itself into a solidarity pack like unova monkeys.
Warszawa – The capital City, was destroyed during WW2 to the point around 1000 people survived there, and it had to be practically built from scratch. This theme is war (battle), and patriotism. So most trainers in this gym will be patriot class (created especially for this hack), or use the pokemon that 'are at war with each other' like seviper and zangoose or heatmor and durants. I'm also thinking about making a few double battles here, especially with those 'at war' teams.
Toruń – Do you know that earth circles around the sun, not the sun around earth? Cool. You know who is said to present model which changed our thinking on that matter? And where did he came from. Yep, Toruń. As this is one of many crucial theories in science the science itself would be a theme in that gym. However, as it is a bit too broad category, let's pull it to 'Pokémon science' I thought that branched evolutions may be a good 'thesis' for it, as scientists in the Pokémon world should definitely want to know why some Pokémon may evolve into different forms while others have only one straight line . I thought about making it an astronomical theme but… all confirmed astronomical non-legendary/mythical Pokémon are solrock, lunatone and clefairy line which is a bit too small of a pool for a theme.
Later I will add a file in which more details (and unfortunately for you my way of thinking) is written. and after the poll ends I will add file with storyline (spell walkthrough) with progress on content included (more detailed than simple changelog)
