I've got an idea for a hack, but I need criticism.
Hero's Story:
Hero has been following the Pokemon League Championships for a while and when he hears about sign ups being in a few days. Having always wanted to compete in the POKeMON league, he wants to get a POKeMON but doesn't know where to get one. He then remembers that his friend Gary's grandfather is a POKeMON Professor and goes there to get his POKeMON license. Hero then gets his POKeMON and moves out.
Rival's Story:
It's a normal night in Pallet Town and Oak is finishing up an experiment. Then 2 masked robbers with an "R" on their suit, broke into Oak's Lab and took the 2 POKeMON he had left. Oak calls the POKe Police and concludes that it's team rocket, who has been involved in a number of theiveries lately. The next day Rival goes to his grandfather to get a POKeMON and Oak tells him about the robbery and about how the police told him it was Team Rocket. Rival gets mad and ask his grandfather for a POKeMON so that he can stop Team Rocket. Oak says that he doesn't have any POKeMON, but then remembers a Master Ball he had from along time ago. With that Oak catches Rival a Pidgey and that's where his quest starts.
Scenario 1, Viridian City:
A girl's grandfather was sleepwalking and he passed out, blocking the road. The girl tells you about it and says the only to wake him is to use River water. "We won't be able to enough water fast enough from the sink... hmm... could you find a bucket, fill it with water and pour on grandfather to wake him up?" and you accept the mission.
Scenario 2, Viridian Forest:
You find a girl named Misty in the woods, who tells you that lost her bike running from Bug POKeMON. She says she'd go get it herself, but she has a fear of bugs, so she wants you to go with her.
Scenario 3, Pewter City:
You want to battle the Gym Leader Brock but his POKeMON are badly damaged after a fight with Team Rocket. He doesn't have any potions and he doesn't have time to head down to the POKeMON Center, so he asks you to do it.
Scenario 4, Mt. Moon:
You find a man near the beggining of the cave who got ambushed by Team Rocket and he needs your help. See, they attacked him in a group, took his money and POKeMON and spread around the cave. You must find each of the Rocket's in the cave and retreive the money and POKeMON they stole from him.
This is basically going to be Fire Red, with more story and POKeMON you could only catch in Green.
