Good layout, but you need to make it a lot more friendly for other resolutions. You could sure use some better images, especially for the top banner, it is very light. Also try and make the banner different in different resolutions, like one image for 800x600, another for 1024x768 etc... There's a Javascript for that.

You could also use a better color scheme...

It's good for a first layout o.O

I have been up for a long time, so I don't know if it is just be but the layout seems bright xD and the banner, well maybe it is in your best interest to change it.

However it is a great start in the right direction ^^
