Pokemon go can't detect gps

    Pokemon go won't detect my gps i've put my location in high accuracy and i've allowed my location. I've even went into developer options to make sure allow mock locations wasn't checked and it's not. I start the game and it doesn't detect my gps, I know my gps is working because I see my location on google maps. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?
     
    My wife is having the same issue and I'm also looking for answers.

    It's weird because she has the exact same phone as me me and I never had an issue with this bug.
     
    Might be coincidence, or maybe not...

    But I seem to at least temporarily get the GPS working again if I try to use the compass from Google Maps in the background. Basically turn on Google Maps app, make sure it picks up your current location, then go back to Pokémon GO.

    Similarly, I was able to fix my wife's glitch last night by involving her Google Maps app.

    As it was a brand new phone, apparently Google Maps needed to be updated. After that it worked fine. OR, possibly, it's because I opened google maps first (but then closed it...) and that made it work. Either way, it was somehow connected to Google Maps functionality.

    So, if you're still looking for answers on this one, I suggest tinkering with Google Maps and making sure it's working first.
     
    My husband is having this problem. We have tried literally everything the internet has suggested. Having google maps run in the background, turning on developer settings and turning off mock locations, turning GPS off and on again, airplane mode on and off, turning the phone off and back on, etc. EVERYTHING. Still, every single time he opens the game it says his GPS signal cannot be found and won't even let him click on one of the starters to catch them; They just sit there. He can't do a thing. He's uninstalled it and reinstalled it at least 9 times already.

    He is using an Android Galaxy s4 with Lollipop 5.0

    UPDATE: I fixed it. It turns out that google play services didn't have access to his location which is what was causing the issue. Lmao.

    I get that message a lot too (I use an Android 5.0 phone). I don't really see a problem with it if you're still showing up on the map accurately.
