Pokemon Grand Adventure

Hey all, this is a fic I have been working on over at the Dark Hacking Inc. forums and I hope you all like it. It's kind of long, but hey.....um....nevermind.LOL
Today we find our hero awakening from an incredible dream. Rudy, the 14 year old trainer from the Jupiter region was just imagining himself defeating the Jupiter League, and congratulating his first pokemon on a job well done. He had overslept, and he had no chance of picking from a full set of starters.
" Oh my God!! I can't believe I woke up so late! This is terrible! I really hope I can still get my starter, hopefully still a good one! God, I need to go! Bye mom!" he yelled as he ran out the door.

He ran straight to Proffesor Kobre's laboratory, and in ten inutes, he was inside Prof. Kobre's office.
" Good Afternoon Rudy. I'm g;ad to see you learned how to use the snooze button. Although, next time, you might only want to push it once," said the Prof.
" Yea yea sure. Do I still get to pick my starter?" asked Rudy
" Yes and no. You see, you got here so late, that all the starters were taken. There is only one left. Here !" he said, tossing the pokeball to Rudy.
" Alright, let's see who you are. Go Pokeball!" out came a Taillow, full of energy and excitement." Wow! A Taillow! I have always wanted one and know I do! Thanks Prof. Kobre! " said Rudy, rushing out the door.
"YOU"RE WELCOME!" exclaimed the Prof.
Rudy was rushing out of the lab, eagerly awaiting his first battle, but then everything went black.
" Hey Rudy! " said a mysterious voice.
" Who is that...? Oh, it's just you Gary. What do you want...?" asked Rudy.
" A pokemon battle. GO EEVEE!!" Gary yelled, launching his pokeball.
With a flash of light, Gary's Eevee, Speedy, appeared. Instantly, Rudy launched Taillow, or as she was now called, Tempest.
" So...you got my dad's Taillow huh.? Alright... Speedy, Quick Attack, " ordered Gary.
" Tempest, Double Team," said Rudy.
As Speedy went for the attack, 5 separate Tempest's appeared and Speedy was stopped in his tracks.
" Concentrate Speedy. Now, Take Down on the middle one !" yelled Gary.
It was a direct hit, and for a while, Tempest seemed to be down for the count, but with the fighting spirit of a Taillow, she launched herself up into the air, and with Rudy's command, fought back with Gust attack. Speedy dodged it with grace and tackled Tempest.
" Good job Speedy! Nowfinish it with Quick Attack!" yelled Gary.
" Tempest, dodge and use a Quick Attack of your own," said Rudy.
Tempest couldn't dodge, but managed to hit with his Quick Attack at the same moment Speedy did. They each landed and appeared safely on the field, and in a few seconds...
" NO !!! " yelled both Gary and Rudy.
Both Tempest and Speedy were knocked out and had major battle scars.
" Boys, bring them into the lab, hurry!"said Prof. Kobre. " Now, let's heal them," he said putting the pokeballs into a strange machine. " Boys, as I watched your battle I remembered something that may shock you. The reason both Speedy and Tempest are so evenly matched is because they were born on the exact same day. You see, I had a field of Pokemon to study, and one day, my aide cam to me and said that two different Pokemon had just been born at the exact same time. Those two Pokemon were Speedy and Tempest. In a few weeks, they had developed a strong friendship," he said removing the pokeballs form the machine and releasing the pokemon. They both went to each other instantly and started staring at their trainers. " They used their time together sparring and learning one anothers movements. They soon developed similar techniques and equal strength. Since they are so alike, I requested that Nurse Joy send me to TM's for each of you. Now Gary, your's is for the Shadow Ball Technique, You can choose to teach it to your Speedy. Rudy, yours is the newly made Tm for the techique, FeatherDance. Both of you use your TMs wisely as these are the only ones I will be giving you. Now, " he said handing them a Pokedex, 5 pokeballs, a potion, and their TMs, " here is all your starting equipment. From here on out, you will have to supply your own things. Good Luck on your journeys. Now, please leave me to my work, " he said escorting them out.
" Well Rudy, I guess this is good-bye... for now. I'll see you later, that I guarantee,"said Gary.
" Alright, see you when I see you," he said, wishing his first rival good-bye.
As Rudy walked along to Ash Path, he realized that his pokeball was moving a lot. He let Tempest out and realized that he didn't like being confined.
" Okay Tempest, you can stay out. Hey, I just realized, one of the Elite Four Champions from Kanto, Ash, had his starter stay out of the pokeball by his side. Maybe this means we're destined for great things too, " said Rudy.
" Tail low!" chirped Tempest.
" Hey, do you want me to use the FetherDance TM on you?" asked Rudy. Tempest gave a nudge of approval, and Rudy took out the TM. " Alright let's see... the booklet says, remove top, and spray desired Pokemon. That's it...?! That's easy. Alright let's do it, " he said, sprayng the mist on Tempest. " How do you feel, want to demonstrate your new technique?"
Tempest flew up high and on command, used FeatherDance. A very mesmerizing dance started and numerous feathers flew down to the ground. As Rudy snapped out of the spell of the dance, he saw a Ralts, which had also been put under the spell.
" Quick Tempest, use Quick Attack on that Ralts," he commanded.
It was a direct hit, but the Ralts lifted himself off the ground and used a Confusion attack. It also hit, but it's effects were weakend because of the effects of FeatherDance.
" Now, while he's distracted, use Quick Attack!" said Rudy.
Another direct hit, but this time, Ralts was knocked out and remained out.
" Pokeball, Go!" said Rudy launching a Pokeball. It moved once, twice, three times, and with a dim flash of red, Rudy had caught his first Pokemon.
" Alright, let's bring our new Friend out," he said releasing Ralts," now, what shall I call you? Any ideas Tempest?... Yea, alright, he does look like that will fit him. Fromnow on, you will be known as Horus.How do you like it,"he asked.
" Raalts!! " he replied.
Alright let's go, " he said returning Horus to his pokeball.
As he continued walking he picked some oran berries, a few lum berries, adn about three pecha berries. Suddenly, he heard the most awful villanous music ever.
" What is that? " he asked.
" Hey Punk, give us those berries now and we'll let you by safely," said a mysterious voice.
" Who are you?"asked Rudy.
" We are Jessie and James, this is our Persian, and we are... Team Rocket!!" said Jessie.
"Persian! That's right. You know, it doesn't sound as good as Meowth that's right," said the Persian.
" Too bad, deal with it Persian!" said James.
" Wait, you're the Team Rocket.? The same Team Rocket that fought alongside Ash against Kyogre and Groudon...?!" questioned Rudy.
" That's right. Back then, we were fighting to save our hides, but we got too wrapped up in doing good deeds so we separated from the twerp, and came here. Now either give us those berries or fight our pokemon," said James releasing his Caturne while Jessie released Dustox.
" Alright, so it's a double battle. Okay, go Tempest! Go Horus!" he yelled releasing his pokemon.
" Cacturne, Pin Missle!" " Dustox, Confusion!", commanded Team Rocket.
" Tempest, dodge and FeatherDance! Horus, dodge and use FutureSight," ordered Rudy.
The battle was heating up and feather dance worked distracting Cacturne and Dustox while Horus casted Future Sight. Things started looking bad for Rudy though when a Fury Swipes attack from Persian hit both Tempest and Horus!
" Ha! Punk, you lost, now hand over your berries and your pokemon! " said Jessie.
" Ha! Look again," he replied as Tempest and Horus ate their oran berries and were fully recovered." Now, I think you forgot about something...?"
" Oh yea, whats that punk?" asked Persian.
" Horus's FutureSight! Look behind you!" he said as the attack hit all of Team Rocket sending them far away." Well I think my first 2vs.2 battle went okay. What do you think Gary?" he asked.
Gary walked out of the shrub and asked," How'd you know?"
"Well first, I heard you talk to Speedy, and I kinda saw you," he said.
" o_O. Anyways, wanna go to Aqua Town together?" asked Gary.
" Sure, let's go."
As they started walking, they were discussing the pokemon they had caught. Gary had already caught a Pikachu and a Silcoon, this made Rudy feel bad that he only had two Pokemon.
" Hey Gary, wanna have a battle before we reach Aqua Town?" asked Rudy.
" Sure, let's make it a two on two. Go Speedy! Go Pikachu!" he said.
" Go Horus! Go Tempest!" said Rudy." Now let's see how those TMs helped us. Tempest, FeatherDance, Now!" Before he could command Horus, he was hit by Speedy's ShadowBall.
" Ha, a direct hit! Now for Tempest! Pikachu, ThunderWave!" he said.
" You wish! Horus, use the Oran Berry! Now use Confusion on Pikachu."
Confusion hit its mark and it's effets caused Pikachu to hit Speedy instead. Out of nowhere, a QuickAttack hit Sppedy, knocking him out, leaving just a confused Pikachu.
" Horus, Confusion once more! Tempest finish it with Gust!" ordered Rudy.
" THUNDER!" commanded Gary.
Thunder hit Tempest and Horus, knocking Tempest out. Ralts bounced back and hit with COnfusion, winning the battle for Rudy.
A white flash of light started and before anyone realized what was happening, a Kirlia took Ralts's place.
" Wow, how did it evolve so fast?" asked Rudy.
" It must have already been in lots of battles when you caught it. You're lucky you caught something so strong as your first Pokemon. No wonder Thunder didn't affect him as much," said Gary.
" Awesome!" said Rudy.
" Don't get to confident, Gym Leaders have strong Pokemon too!" said Gary.
" Yea right! Hey, we're here. Let's go to the Center then we'll head our separate ways. I can't wait till i get my first badge!" said Rudy.
They reached the center, healed up, slept, and in the morning, headed their own ways. Gary was headed towards DenDen City, and Rudy was headed for Darkness City.

Chapter 2
Rudy had just separated with Gary and was on his way to Darkness City, and he ws thinking of strategies for his next battle with Gary. He knew it would be a lot harder to beat him if Gary caught more Pokemon because Rudy only two. He walked for a few hours, not paying attention to the time, just caught in thought. He didn't realize how late it was until Tempest pecked him to let him know that not only had they passed Darkness City, but that they were on an extended route to DenDen City. It was night time, so he released Horus from his pokeball and started going over moves, just to see what he was capable of. He then held a training session between Tempest and Horus, teaching them new strategies and letting them gain experience.
" Okay guys, great training. It's time for bed though. I will go to sleep and seeing as how both of you are still filled with energy, why not keep guard over me for the night...? Thanks, you're the best," he said, half asleep.
After a few hours, both Tempest and Horus fell asleep. Just after tehy did, a gang of Ghastly and Haunter appeared. They cast Nightmare on the sleeping victims. Rudy saw himself fighting Gary many times, and losing every single battle. Tempest and Horus just saw themselves evolving into Feebas and Magikarp and that was enough to wake them.
Horus used CalmMind to save himself from the effects of Nightmare and any attempt at hypnosis. Tempest flew towards Rudy and cast a gust attack to wake him up. He awoke with a jump, and saw that Gary was nowhere around, but he did see...
" GHOSTS!! I hate ghosts! Horus, use Reflect," he said.
A barrier appeared before them and Tempest cast another gust to try to frighten the ghost Pokemon away. It didn't work and the Ghastly's countered with a MeanLook. Being forced into battle, Rudy started a full out attack.
" Tempest, FeatherDance! Horus use Hypnosis!"
The ghosts were stunned for awhile, but they shook off the attack, and used lick on Tempest and Horus. Tempest had speed enough to get away, but Horus was Paralyzed by Lick. Tempest wasleft alone and was ordered to use Whirlwind. He got rid of some of the ghosts, but the leader remained.
" Haunter Haunter Haunter!"
" So only Haunter is left huh, okay, Tempest, Gust Attack! "
The Gust Attack missed but out of nowhere, Haunter was hit by a future sight attack. He got up, weakend, but hurt, took one look at Horus, and ran off.
" I knew giving you that Lum Berry would be a good idea. Hey look, the sun is starting to rise," he said.
The sun was just starting to rise and the light reflected off of the water, creating an even more inspirational scene.
" It's the start of a new day and that means more traveling, training, and hopefully," he said as his stomach growled, " a nice hot meal."
They walked along DenDen Pass and soon came upon a thick patch of forest.
" Oh no! Why now of all times, I'm hungry! NOw we have to walk through all these trees and get all scratched up by the branches and stuff," he said. As he looked at the forest he realized," this is a forest, so this must mean there's bug Pokemon in there. I wonder if I will find any Beautifly's?"
Just before entering, he was spotted by a ninja.
" Stop right there! You can't pass until you battle me and my Nincada, " he said.
" Fine, but I hope you enjoy losing. Go Tempest! " said Rudy.
With a blinding flash, Nincada appeared before the hungry bird Pokemon.Expecting intimadation from his opponent, Rudy was shocked when Nincada started using Harden. Tempest took to the sky and then dove down with incredible speed. She was aiming for a peck attack, but NIncada swiftly dodged the attack. Tempest swept back for another attack, but this time, Nincada was slow to react. As Nincada fell, the angry trainer called him back and released a Shedinja!
" Ha, you'll never beat my Shedinja!"said the mystery trainer.
" We'll see. Tempest, Gust!" said Rudy.
The attack did not even scratch Shedinja. Rudy tried even more attacks, but each one had the same effect. What he didn't realize was that Shedinja was using Absorb to slowly weaken Tempest.
" Oh No! Tempest! Return! Go Horus!" he said switching Pokemon. " Use Reflect!"
Horus raised that glowing barrier around himself so he was protected from Shedinja's Attack. He launched a Psybeam attack, but again nothing happened.
" You still haven't figured it out have you? Shedinja is a ghost bug pokemon, he can't be killed by regular attacks. Only the strongest hits can take it down," said the trainer.
" Really... Horus, you know what to do!" said Rudy.
" A FutureSight Attack? Good Luck! Now that I have it scouted, it'll never hit," he said.
Time passed and neither Horus or Shedinja did anything. As the FutureSight attack came around, Shedinja dodged it easily, but was knocked down by a Psybeam from Horus.
" How did you do that? FutureSight missed?!" asked the trainer.
" I never said FutureSight was meant to hit you," replied Rudy.
" So it was just a distraction...I see. Good job, my name is Kento," he said.
" My name's Rudy, and I'm glad you approve of my technique. I only started my journey as a Pokemon Trainer too," he said.
" Really....? Wow, you're getting really good really fast. No offense, but I did notice you have some Type Problems. You get the Pokemon's weaknesses and strengths mixed up. Would you mind if I traveled with you, you know, just to teach you...? I'm a retired Gym Leader by the way," said Kento.

" Wow, a GYm leader! Sure, I would actually be honored if you went with me," said Rudy.
" Alright then,let's get going to DenDen City and your first Gym Battle," he said as they walked along.
In a few minutes, they had reached the end of DenDen Pass. They were almost out when they heard some eerily familiar music.

It wasn't bad. The only gripe I have is that 9 out of 10 OT Fics start the exact same way. Kid wakes up late and takes the last Pokemon which ALWAYS ends up to be the strongest one out of the starters. Not bad though.

Thanks for taking the time to read it though. I actually enjoy criticism, it gives me a reason to improve myself.....I just hope the rest of the fic isn't too similar to anything you've previously read xDAnyways, here's some more story.....
" Hey Punk, I guess you thought you could get away huh,? Well guess what...you can't. Before, we would have given up, but you're Pokemon seem to have a lot of potential so we'll be taking them now," said Jessie.
" Who're they Rudy?" asked Kento.
" They are....um...they're...uh..., " he said.
" TEAM ROCKET! TEAM ROCKET!" said Jessie and Persian.
" Oh yeah...they tried to steal my berries and Pokemon yesterday, but I beat them," replied Rudy.
" Quiet kid, that was pure luck! You won't get rid of us that easily. Go, Cacturne!," said James.
" Go Seviper! Go Wobuffet! You too Persian! " said Jessie.
" Why would they send out a Wobuffet...?" asked Kento.
" Who cares? Go, Tempest! Go Horus! " said Rudy
" Alright go Ninjask! Go Shedinja!" said Kento.
" Jessie, look a Shedinja! The boss would pay big money for that! Let's swipe it!," said James.
" Alright, it's a good thing we brought Wobuffet! Seviper! Flamethrower!" said Jessie.
The FlameThrower hit both Horus and Ninjask, but not before Tempest had cast FeatherDance. The attack was weakened and Cacturne, Seviper, Persian, and Wobuffet, were all caught in it's spell. Horus seized the chance and used FutureSight, a combination quite familiar to Team Rocket. Seviper used Crunch on Horus and he was out of the battle, but just then, Ninjask used FalseSwipe on Seviper. At the same moment, Persian was using FurySwipes on Shedinja, but to no avail.
" Persian remember, only big attacks can damage a Shedinja!" said Jessie.
Persian understood and... Shedinja was hit by Persian's HyperBeam.
" Tempest, Gust Persian NOW!" ordered Rudy.
A strong Gust of wind knocked Persian out, but Tempest was hit by a PinMissile from Cacturne.
" Well Team Rocket, looks like I will beat you the same way I did last time, with FutureSight!" he said as Horus's last attacked neared.
" Wobuffet, MirrorCoat!" said Jessie.
The FutureSight attack was reflected back at Rudy and Kento, as well as their Pokemon. They were knocked out.
" Now's our chance, James, take the Shedinja...and the Taillow," said Jessie.
James was already in the process of swiping the pokemon when a bolt of thunder hit the ground near him.
" Jessie, he followed us! We have to go!" he said, already running." Return Cacturne!"
" Return Wobuffet! Return Seviper!" said Jessie," come on let's go Persian."
They ran off, leaving the unconscious duo of Rudy and Kento all alone.
When they awoke, they were in a Pokecenter, being watched by the Nurse and...Gary!
" It's okay Nurse Joy. I'll call you if anything happens,'' he said.
" Alright," said Nurse Joy walking away.
" Hey Rudy, how're you feeling?" he asked.
" What are you doing here? No, better question, what am I doing here?" he asked," where's Tempest?"
" You're in the DenDen City Pokecenter. I am here cause I lost my match to the Gym Leader here and was healing my Pokemon. Tempest is in the waiting area with Kento and the other Pokemon. We don't know how you got here, all we know is you appeared inside with a gust of wind, and as we were moving you...this fell out," he replied hoding out a stone.
" My ThunderStone! You know, I was planning on using it on the Eevee I was going to get, but I ended up with Tempest instead. I don't regret getting her though. Anyways, I won't need this stone anymore. Why don't you take it you know, maybe use it on Speedy?" he said.
" Wow thanks! I'll use it well. Let's go check on Tempest and the others," he replied.
As they walked into the waiting room, they were greeted by Tempest and Speedy.
" Hey, you're up! " said Kento." How are you feeling?"
" I'm great and by the looks of it, you are too. Are all the Pokemon okay? Do we have all our stuff?" asked Rudy.
" Yes, all the Pokemon are okay, but we are missing a few things. It seems that before Team Rocket left, they swiped some Pokeballs, probably thinking they had something inside, and some money. Other than that, everything's fine. Oh yeah, you got a call from Prof. Kobre. He said to call him back, but I told him to hang on cause you were almost awake.So, he's still on the phone and has been listening to everything we've been saying. Go talk to him," said Kento.
" Hey Prof. Kobre, whats up?" asked Rudy.
" I got a call from a colleague of mine, Professor Gary Oak, saying that an old friend of his saw you get into trouble. I was worried, so I called the Pokecenter. I called your mom and she's really worried. She told me to send you something important. I'm transferring it now," he said.
A blinding light appeared and within a few seconds, a Pokeball appeared on the transporter.
" What is it?" asked Rudy.
" A Pokemon, Duh!" said Gary.
" It's not just any Pokeball Rudy. The Pokemon inside was caught by your father when he first started his journey. He sent it to me for care, and after he disappeared I gave it to your mother for safekeeping. She decided now was the perfect time to give it to you. Open it up," said the Prof.
Rudy opened it up and found a Vulpix by his side.
" Wow, a Vulpix. I'll name you after my favorite Trainer, Ash. Thanks for sending it over Prof. Kobre," said Rudy.
" Your welcome and um...good name. It's in no way odd that you picked that name though. Uh, I gotta go, Bye!" he said, hanging up the phone.
" Huh, that was weird, I wonder what's wrong with him?" asked Kento.
" Who knows?" said Rudy,"hey, let's go to the gym. I can't wait for my first battle. Are you coming Gary?"
" No, my Pokemon are in intensive care. The Gym Leader has really tough Pokemon. Good luck though," he replied.
" Alright, let's go Kento," he said as they walked out of the center." Hey Kento, do you know anything about this Gym Leader?"
" All I know is that She is a Water Type Trainer with rare pokemon. They are all tough to beat, and since there aren't many water pokemon around, that's probably why Gary lost so badly," he said.
" Okay. Hey, we're here!" said Rudy.

" Wow, it's so big..." said Rudy.
"This is nothing, wait till you see my old Gym," said Kento.
" Where is it?" he asked.
" In the next town. I'll be your next GymTrainer to battle. This time, I won't go easy on you," he said.
" Right ...anyways, let's go in," said Rudy.
As they walked in, they were asked for Pokedex variation, a new security feature used after many trainers started sneaking in for battles unregistered.
POKEDEX VARIATION COMPLETE. TRAINER IDENTITY RUDY CONFIRMED. LAST TRAINER TO ENTER, GARY. LAST TRAINER TO WIN, GARY OAK.
" Wow Gary Oak was the last person to win here? He must've came here after becoming a researcher. If I can beat this gym, I'll be on equal scale as him," he said as the door opened and a shadowy figure greeted them.
" Ha-ha-ha-ha! It'll take you lots of training before your anywhere near Oak's level. Your just a novice. When he beat me, he already had his run as Elite 4 Champion, Veridian City Gym Leader, and a highly regarded and very well known Pokemon Researcher. Now, he was the only one to beat me in the past 5 years, are you my next victim...?" asked the Gym Leader.
" Yea, but who are you, I thought the Gym Leader was a girl?" asked Rudy.
" She is, but to even battle her, you must get by me first. I'm Felix, your first opponent," he said.
" That's enough Felix," said a mysterious woman as she walked out of the shadows." Pay no attention to him, says this to everyone, and only few, like your friend Gary, believe him and lose.Now, I am the Gym Leader here. My name is Karst. I specialize in Psychic Pokemon and I myself am a bit psychic. I know you don't believe me, and that you can't even begin to phatom my power if a simple underling left such powerful Pokemon in intensive care...Rudy. Your friend, Kento, is wondering why I am not a water trainer anymore because he thought I was. Well what happened is, I came across a group of people who saved my life. I would have died without their help and I decided to serve them. They took my regular Pokemon, and gave me these even more powerful Psychic Pokemon. Now, approach your battling area and prepare for the toughest battle of your adolescent journey," said Sheba.
" Wow, she's good!" thought Rudy.
" I know," she replied, proving her abilities.
With a new fear, Rudy approached the his battling area and started thinking of what Pokemon to send out first.
" Don't even think. You must act on instinct to beat me. To make things easier on you, this battle will only allow us 2 Pokemon a piece, only you can switch, Kento's the judge, and my first Pokemon will be...Kadabra!" she said.
A Kadabra appeared and was greeted by a very eager Tempest. The battle started with a Barrier being put up by Kadabra. Tempest tried to break through with a QuickAttack, but was unable to penetrate Kadabra's wall of protection. A Psychic attack hit Tempest, but he was unaffected.
" Don't give up Tempest! Use a Gust attack!" said Rudy.
" A typical novice move. Use Reflect! " said Sheba.
Gust attack was neutralized, but Tempest continued the onslaught by using FeatherDance.
" Return Tempest," said Rudy, calling her back and releasing his second Pokemon," Go Vulpix! "
Vulpix appeared butwas hit by a FirePunch.
" Thanks Sheba, you activated FlashFire! Vulpix, FlameWheel!" said Rudy.
" Oh no, you're right," said Sheba," what ever shall I do? Oh, and if you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. Kadabra, dodge!"
The command came to late though, and Kadabra was hit by FlameWheel and left with a Burn. Vulpix kept attacking with a FlameThrower. Kadabra was left unconscious and Rudy was one step closer to winning his first badge.
" Huh, you beat my first Pokemon. That was unexpected, and I'm not being sarcastic this time. Don't expect to beat my next Pokemon though, Go Espeon!"
An Espeon appeared in front of Vulpix and used DoubleTeam.
" Vulpix, blind them with SunnyDay!" said Rudy.
It worked and the real Espeon was temporarily blinded by the intense indoor sun-light. Sadly, the attack worked against Vulpix instead of for it. Sheba apparently taught her Espeon the SolarBeam technique making it very unique.The beam hit and left Vulpix very injured.
" Vulpix quick, FireBlast!" said Rudy.
" Espeon, fire another SolarBeam!"
The two attacks clashed in the middle of the battlefield, and the explosion knocked Vulpix and Espeon to their respective trainers. Espeon got up, however, Vulpix didn't.
" Vulpix return. You did well," said Rudy, calling back Vulpix," go Tempest!"
A weakend Tempest and a weakened Espeon were left to finish the battle. Tempest used FeatherDance weakening Espeon even more. Espeon used CalmMind to strengthen itself and to control itself. As Espeon used CalmMind, Tempest flew right at it at immense speed, and soon, was beak to nose with Espeon. Espeon used a ZapCannon attack, but Tempest had flown behind Espeon and used QuickAttack. Espeon was knocked back by the attack, but not before unleashing a Psywave. It hit dead center and both Pokemon were left in a state where one attack would end it all.
" Well Rudy, you've done better than I expected. This match is going to end by one last attack. Choose wisely because I will, but just remember, there are some things even I can't predict. This means we're on an even playing field. Ready or not, the end is near, Espeon, ATTACK!!!" said Sheba.
" Tempest, ATTACK!"
Both Pokemon used QuickAttack at the same instant, and hit at the same time in the same place. The gym was in complete silence as both trainers awaited the other's Pokemon to fall. Both were filled with anxiety and beads of sweat were going down their faces. Even Kento was in a state of anxiety. Then the moment they were waiting for happened...Espeon collapsed.
" I won.I won. Oh my God, I WON!" yelled Rudy in joy.
" COngratulaions on an incredible victory Rudy. You have won your first badge and are one step closer to achieveing your dream. Here is your prize," said Sheba, extending a badge, money, and two TMs to Rudy," the PsyBadge, 500 Zenny, a BubbleBeam TM, and the famous Psychic TM. You get two because I happened to have one water technique TM from my Water Pokemon training days. Anyways, I wish you luck on your journey, and hope that one day, you return for a rematch with me. Good-bye and Good luck," said Sheba, vanishing into the shadwows.

"Why does it matter? Nevermind, just get a case, you don't want to ruin your clothes," said Kento.
" Hey Rudy," said Gary running up to him, speedy at his side," I just heard. Congratulations on your victory."
" Thanks Gary! Is that the only reason you ran up to me? Wouldn't it have been easier to wait til I got back to the center?" asked Rudy.
" Yes, but Prof. Kobre told me to get you to the Pokecenter ASAP. He said he wanted to tell you something urgent. He also said not to worry," he said, seeing the reaction on Rudy's face.
"Okay," said Rudy with relief," let's go Kento, Tempest."
They ran on over to the center, and were met by Nurse Joy.
" Let me take your Pokemon. They should be ready as soon as your conversation is over," she said taking his Pokemon.
" Rudy, I have some very important news. Now don't panic, but your mother is in the hospital," he said.
"WHAT!!!?????" yelled Rudy.
" I said don't worry. Look, there was a gas leak in the house and she almost got seriously injured. Now, no one knows how or when, but someone went in, and rescued your mother. They took her to the hospital and left a note with her. It said:
Please take care of Lily, she is in a very serious condition. Please notify Rudy as soon as possible.He is her son and is partaking in the Jupiter League challenge. Signed, A.K
That's all the information we have Rudy. Your mother is recovering quickly and should call you soon," said the Prof.
" Okay Professor,but who is A.K?" asked Rudy.
" Yeah," said Gary and Kento simoltaneously.
" Actually, that's why I sent Gary for you. A.K is Ash Ketchum," said the Prof.
" WHAT!?" said the three boys together.
" Yes, Ash Ketchum. He and your mother go very far back. They were the best of friends back in college. They actually had a bit of a relationship," said the Prof.
" Woah, my mom dated Ash Ketchum? Shocking, "said Ash.
" Yes, well they did more than date. They were........Sorry Rudy...getting...cut.....Ash is.....your......" he said as the connection was cut off.
" I wonder what he was going to say? Oh well, I'll ask him later," said Rudy." Oh look, there's Nurse Joy and she's got my Pokemon."
Out side of the Pokemon Center, Rudy and Kento were saying their goodbye's to Gary.
" Listen Rudy, here's my PokeGear Number. Call me whenever okay. I can't wait till our next battle. I hope your mom gets better soon. Bye!" he said, walking towards the gym for his rematch.
" Well Kento, It's about time we get moving to the next Gym. I hear this one's twice as hard as Sheba's gym,'' said Rudy.
As they walked off into the next route, they both wondered about what the Professor was about to say.

As they walked along the route to Kento's home town, Shadow town, they decided to set up a camp near a mysterious cave.
" So Rudy, why did you want to become a Pokemon Trainer?" asked Kento.
" Well I grew up hearing about Ash from my mom, the Professor, and the T.V. HE was the most talked about trainer at the time and was currently on his way to challenge the one league he had never beat, the Indigo League. After he beat them, he became known as the best trainer of that century. He disappeared and was said to train at Mount. Silver. Now, my goal is to reach Mount Silver and battle him. Sadly, since all the Pokemon there are of highest strength and stuff, Professor Oak, the one in charge of entrance to the mountain, made a rule that you must beat all 4 Leagues currently in order," he said starring at the moon." Now though, I'm wondering what connection he has to me, my mom, and everything's all comfusing now. Oh well, let's get some sleep now."
He didn't get very much sleep though. He was having sleeping peacefully as a familiar Haunter appeared. It cast Nightmare on him and Kento, ruining their sleep. After this attack, Rudy started having a nightmare.
He was in a hall running towards a door that never got closer. He never tired, but the door seemed to get farther and farther away the more he ran towards it. Then, with a flash of light, he was in a brightly lit stadium standing in the middle of a battling arena. In frint of him was Tempest and Horus, both laughing at him and insulting his abilities as a trainer. Then his mother appeared petting Vulpix and she said," Wake up honey. You're having a bad dream. Wake up......" she said, but her voice sounded distant each time." Wake up......wake up"
" Wake!Up!" yelled Kento. As he saw Rudy's startled face, he began to explain." It was Haunter. The same one you told me about. He had cast NightMare on us. We would still be sleeping if it wasn't for the fact that it's morning. The Haunter must have run off as soon as the sun rose. Anyways, let's pack up and get going to Shadow Town. If we don't get there by Saturday, they won't let us in."
" Why? What's going to happen if we don't make it?" asked Rudy.
" Don't worry about it. We just have to keep going so we can make it. You will be so happy when we do get there. There's a big surprise there waiting."
As they walked towards Shadow Town, Rudy started wondering why Kento was in such a rush to get there. When he asked him, Kento got into a big speech.
"I understand you want to know, but you should respect the fact that I didn't choose to tell you before. Since you won't stop pestering me though, I'll tell you.Every year, a festival is held in Shadow Town to celebrate the victory of Blitz. Blitz was a ninja from when the town first started, and he quickly became it's hero.The town started being attacked by an immensly powerful organization of samurai led by a man known as the Killer Amphros. Blitz and Killer Amphros met in battles of their own, and battles with Pokemon, but after fifty years of fighting, Blitz emerged victorious. In honor of his victory, every ninja that goes into Pokemon battles i given a Nincada, bred from the Shedinja Blitz himself used. The Festival is known as the Festival of a Thousand Swords. There are battles, between both Pokemon and humans, to determine who is stronger. I am the champion from last year, but me and my Shedinja barely won. This year, I don't plan on competing, but the festival is always fun to watch. Plus, there's amazing food and the best breeding centers. On the way there, a cave is located, which is where a Pokeball containing Killer Ampharos is. No one knows how, but Blitz managed to seal both himself and his rival in the same Pokeball. The war may be over, but they still continue fighting to see who is truly the best......

It looks pretty good in length, but I think that reading would be a lot easier if you put an entire blank line in between whenever someone starts talking, but I thought that it wasn't bad, but, also, I would like if you made the chapters notice able, the names of them, you know, but its not nessacary. Good job. ^_^

Well, the length in the beginning seems to be well...but the length deteriorates as the story goes...

Also...there isn't really much originality going around...most of the time, I'm bored as I kept scrolling down. Also, the block style is irritating...try to go into a new paragraph whenever you start a new dialogue.

Anime style battling... *sigh* isn't that a little bit overused now?

As for Team Rocket...well...they're still bumbling...I never really liked the fact that you accepted on how the anime is so stereotyped in plot and carried it over into your story... it's kind of a turnoff...

If you didn't like my review, you surely would not like Frostweaver's review...(he already reviewed this fanfic in the Fanfiction lounge...)

Now, if you want to improve, please read the Stickied Topic that says "READ FIRST" ...as if the caps don't matter to anyone anymore... meh...
