Pokemon in history - What will it be worth?

This sprung to mind when thinking about collectable items and such... like model cars can fetch a considerable amount of money when boxed and in good condition... but do you think that in several years time down the line Pokemon collecatbles (games, teddy bears, playing cards, etc) will become valuable and fetch up large amounts of money at auctions? Or is the Pokemon industry too established to be worth that much?

I hate thinking about Pokemon merchandise like cards and stuff being worth a lot in the future because I sold my entire card folder for like $10.00, and it had some really rare cards in there that I had to trade through the ****ing ass to get, and if that stuff becomes valuable again I'll be kicking myself for giving it all away so easily. >_<

Well, popular franchises can go down in history very easily...They may not be very important, but they can be remembered

Considering that Pokemon wont go out of style for a long time, we wont have to worry about that ;)

I don't think that Pokemon will be worth anything in the future, since most Adults (and teens) think Pokemon is for little kids.

And little kids are in no short supply nowadays. =P Not to mention the fair number of adults/teens who still do play Pokemon.

I think that if Pokemon dies a horrible death at some point down the line, Pokemon merchandise may only be bought by nostalgic peoples who remembered the old days of Pokemon.

At some point in the future, though, assuming Pokemon is still popular (and the Charizard glut goes down), that holo Charizard card may fetch a pretty penny.

This is true, because there are adults who are well into their later stages of life collecting toys they used to play with as kids such as bill and ben merchandise, porky the pig, and so on.

and yeah items will be nostalgic mostly, they probably wont be worth as much as anything that has real value in its materials its made out of, but theyll have sentimental values similiar to things passed down generations. i think for things to be worth more in sentimental value things have to change in technology, like teddy bears could be made out of different fabrics in future that cost less to make.
