Pokemon Inverse?

I've finally came back to the pokecommunity and a new idea came up to me for a rom hack. I'm looking to see if someone thinks my ideas are makeable and could possibly make a good rom hack! This would also be my first real Pokemon hack project so I might need to advice throughout the making. Without further ado:

Pokemon Inverse Version?
(Name suggestions anyone?)

Basically you play this rom hack as a Pokemon and capture trainers. (If that makes any sense) For example, your character would be Pikachu and you would capture wild trainers that have Pokemon-like features. Let's say Misty but with water Pokemon characteristics? So you'd travel this new region and fight other Pokemon and your rivals would be demonic-like Pokemon that want Pokemon to take over the world and have the humans as ''slaves''.

Obviously this is a very quick version of what the real plot would be. It's a rough draft but I'm just wondering if this idea would make a good rom hack?

it seems like a semi-new idea, and really, romhacking's entirely about making what you want, so go for it~
if you can get some amigos irl to help, then it can be really fun as a project for you~

But it sounded odd to me.
If pokemons captured trainers then it would be trainerball :P
