    Well Here is the story so far:Era ran through the rain clutching the pokemon egg that elm gave him.He got home and the egg hatched into a Cyndaquil!He told Elm on his Pokegear about it hatching.Elm said he could keep it.Era was happy, but then Elm told him that he was allowed to be a pokemon trainer.Then Era packed up.The next day Era set out.He trained his Cyndaquil so much that it learnt Smokescreen and Ember.He arrived at Cherrygrove City.Era healed his Cyndaquil and then...

    IC: I had been waiting up all night bacause today is when I get my first Pokemon!!! As soon as Dad would let me go i ran to New Bark Town to see Professor Elm (I live in CherryGrove City) to get my first pokemon. I ran inside his lab and almost knocked over his assistant in my rush. "Ahh. Hello Minty, I've been waiting for you to come. Please fill out these forms while I go get the pokemon you can choose from." said Professor Elm. Then he walked out the back. I filled out the forms and the professor came back in. "Now then," he asked me, "which pokemon would you like?" he asked me. I started to answer Torchi- but then my dad came in with a parcel in his hands. "Minty," he panted to me, "this just came for you in the mail. Thought you might want to open it before you choose your pokemon." He held out the box and I took it. I opened it up and there was a pokeball inside! I pushed the button on the pokeball and out popped a yellow charmander! It had a note tied to its neck. It read Hope you like this special gift. Love from your secret admirer As I made my way back to CherryGrove City, I was training my Charmander and he learnt ember and leer. I went into the pokemon center and while I was waiting for my charmander back I saw a kid with his Cyndaquil...
     
    It was Minty!"Hey how you doing?" said Era,"Have you got a pokemon?"
    "Yeah!It's a Charmander which I got today from an unknown person.It's shiny too!"
    Era told him about his Cyndaquil.Then Charmander came back fully healed
     
    "Hey u going on the pokemon league challenge 2?" I asked Era, "Cause if u are maybe we can travel together?"
     
    "Sure I am,but I need badges first.Plus more Pokemon," said Era. Just then there was a loud crash and a Team Rocket Member appeared.Era and Minty sent out their pokemon and made quick work of the Rocket's Rattata and Nincada. The Rocket ran off defeated. Meanwhile in a hideout a man wearing a suit and stroking a Persian banged his hand against the desk in front of him."Curses," he said.Then he spoke into a microphone."Send in the Excecutives,".
     
    OOC: Generally the pokemon league challenge is the whole trip (getting badges as well as the actual league)

    IC: "Well I guess that we should be going then, we don't want anymore disruptions like that anymore, even if it was really a useless attempt by Team Rocket." I said to Era as we left the Pokemon center.
    *Leaves Cherrygrove city and gets on route 30*
    While walking along the road I pass a guy with pokeballs at his belt!
    "Hey!," I yelled to him, "u wanna battle?"
    The trainer didn't stop but yelled out of his shoulder, "I can't, I have to take my rattata to the pokemon center to be healed! You should be careful 2, that guy is really strong."
    "What guy?" I asked him but he was out of sight.
    We kept walking along the road and this guy jumped out of a tree, pointed at me and said "You there! You will give me a pokemon battle! Your allowed to use 2 pokemon during the battle!"
    "But I don't have 2 pokemon," I stammered, "I only have my starter pokemon."
    "Well bad luck! Prepare to lose!!!"
    *Throws pokeball*
    "I choose you Sprout!"
    *A bellsprout appears*
    "Well if you want a fight you got one! Go Charmander!"
    *Charmander comes out of Pokeball*
    "Quickly Sprout, Growth!"
    *The bellsprout puts its roots in the ground then grows taller*
    "Charmander you ready? Then use leer!"
    *Charmander stares down the bellsprout*
    *The bellsprout turns away before it makes eye contact with Charmander*
    "Ha Ha! I've trained my pokemon to resist stat lowering moves like leer. Now Sprout! Use Sleep Powder!"
    *Little spores detach themselves from Sprout and float towards Charmander*
    "Quickly Charmander jump away from the powder and use Ember!"
    *Charmander leaps off the ground, does a flip and fires a powerful ember attack at Sprout*
    *The bellsprout just couldn't stand up anymore because of the burns it sustained*
    *The bellsprout was knocked out!*
    "Noooo! Sprout!" Yelled the Trainer, "Are you alright? Good job Sprout have a rest."
    *recalls his bellsprout*
    "Your Charmander is pretty strong but bellsprout is weak against fire. Now you will have no advantage! Go Eyes!"
    *A hoothoot appeared in a flash of red light*
    "Charmander use Scratch!"
    *Charmander runs towards Eyes with his claws withdrawn*
    "Eyes! Dodge by flying!"
    *The hoothoot flaps its wings and evades Charmanders attack*
    "Now use peck!"
    *Eyes Dive bombs Charmander and pecks him with his beak square in the middle of his forehead*
    "Charmander are you O.K?!?!"
    "Char Charmander." said Charmander as he got up and his tail flame burned more brightly
    "Good. Now jump up and attack hoothoot from above with Ember!"
    *Charmander leaps off the ground going even higher than before*
    "Eyes fly away again!"
    *The hoothoot starts the flap its wings*
    *Chamander fires its hot embers at the hoothoot*
    *Eyes gets off the ground but flies straight into the fire and gets knocked to the ground*
    "Eyes, Eyes are you going to be able to finish the fight?!?" the trainer asked with concern.
    "Hoothoot" the hoothoot replied.
    "OK then," said the trainer, taking charge again, "use tackle!"
    *Eyes flies about a centimetre above the ground aimed at Charmander*
    "Charmander, counter attack with Scratch!"
    *Charmander speeds towards the hoothoot*
    *A dustcloud is formed from Charmander running so fast and Eyes flying so close to the ground*
    *Both pokemon are lost in the dust*
    When the dust clears Charmander and Eyes have passed each other and appears to have done no damage to each other. Then...
    *Eyes falls on the ground and faints*
    "Aww Eyes, we lost! Well come back have a rest"
    *Calls his hoothoot back into its pokeball*
    "We won, We won!" I shouted as I grabbed Charmanders paws and started to dance.
    "Your a pretty strong trainer." The other trainer admits as he puts out his hand, "The names Chris by the way."
    "Well I had a first name but everyone forgot it so you can call me Minty and this is Era. We are traveling together to become stronger." I said as I shook his hand.
    "I'd love to stay and talk but I have got to get back to Violet City to heal Sprout and Eyes so we can continue to train so we can beat Falkner, the Violet City Gymleader." he explained, "C-ya later!" Then he ran off down the road.
     
    Era and Minty were on their way to Violet City when Era noticed a trainer beating someone.After the guy ran off Era challenged him to a battle.Era sent out Cyndaquil while the trainer sent out his Spearow.The trainer called for Spearow to use Peck, but Cyndaquil dodged it and Era made it use Ember.The attack made the Spearow fly low and then Cyndaquil used Tackle fainting it.The trainer ran off. After some more walking
    Era and Minty arrived at Violet City.When they entered the metropolis Cyndaquil began to glow.It evolved into Quilava!
     
    "Hey thats an awesome Quilava, Era!" I told him as I patted it on the head, "I wonder what Charmander evolves into?"
    *Opens Pokedex*
    "Charmander," I told my dex
    "Charmander the lizard pokemon, The flame on its tail indicates Charmander's life force. If it is healthy, then the fire burns brightly." the pokedex told me in a metallic voice. "Charmander learns ember at level 7, leer at level 10, smokescreen at level 14, metal claw at level 16, evolves at level 16 into a Charmeleon. At level 36 into a Charizard.
    "Well lets take a look at Charmeleon then." I told my Pokedex
    A picture of Charmeleon appeared on the screen. I showed Charmander and said, "Hey Charmander! When you learn metal claw you'll evolve into one of these pokemon."
    Charmander shook his head and said, "Char Char Chamander Char!" He pointed at the picture of Charmeleon, then at himself, then shook his head.
    "Are you saying you don't want to evolve?" I asked charmander. Charmander nodded his head and then his claws started to glow. He attacked a metal pole with an attack that looked like scratch but left 3 big holes in the pole. "Well if you don't want to evolve then I won't make you." I told Charmander. Era and I then procceded to the pokecenter because it was getting quite late. As we waited for our pokemon to heal, I saw a pokemon moving outside. It was a Poochyena! When I got my Charmander back I told Era, "I'm going outside for a bit. I'll be back soon." I exited the pokecenter and went around to where I saw the Poochyena. The pokemon ran and I followed it. When I caught up to it I Threw Charmander's Pokeball and said, "Go Charmander!" Charmander appeared, ready to battle. The Poochyena howled at the moon to up its attack power. "Go Charmander, Smokescreen!" I told Charmander. The smoke filled the battle area and make poochyena start to cough. "Now Charmander! Follow the Coughing and use metal claw!" Charmander entered the smoke and saw Poochyena's sillhouette in the smoke. Charmander attacked and the pokemon collapsed on the ground. I waited for the smoke to clear and then I threw a pokeball at the weakened poochyena.
    BEEP!
    BEEEEEP!
    BEEEEEEEEEP!
    There was silence as I waited for the pokeball's light to turn off.
    The light turned off.
    "Yeah!" I said as I ran to pick up poochyena's pokeball, "I caught my first pokemon!!!" I made my way back to the pokecenter using charmander's tail flame as a light. I got their and gave my pokemon to nurse joy to have a rest after battling. Then I told Era all about my battle. I got into bed and fell straight asleep.

    I saw Era and minty coming out of the Pokecenter and ran up to them.
    "I heard you guy beat the idiot on the road.Was it hard?"

    Character's Appearence: Karu is 5"9', slim, and long-legged. She has hazy green eyes and short, choppy black hair that reaches her jawbone, though a short tail flows underneath the free hair, reaching the start of her spine. The young adolescent generally wears a pair of flared, faded blue jeans, and a cap-sleeved olive green tank that reveals her navel with lighter green horizontal stripes that merge with the olive coloring, making the shirt seem painted. She often wears a light, black, hooded jacket, but only when the air is cool. At her feet, she has simple trainers, nothing more. She also carries a canvas knapsack.

    Karu watched the sleeping twosome from afar, her misty eyes scanning the perimeter for another. She had heard a voice that near startled her moments before. Nodding at the Nurse Joy, she took out a pokeball to be revived.

    "Nurse, might you heal my pidgey?"

    The nurse nodded, taking the enlarged ball from her and placing it on a machine. A beeping noise was heard, loud enough to stir the sleeping Minty. Smiling, the relative of the other Nurses handed her caged pidgey back to her. Karu smiled faintly in return before releasing her pokemon and letting out a yawn.

    Hello, Karu. voiced her small friend telepathecally.

    Hey. her mind whispered in return.

    The flying pokemon chirped softly as it flew from the ground onto the bench where Karu sat. Together, the two yawned. These strange occurences came about only because of a special bond between the two. It was so that they were born at the exact same time, though pidgey had yet to hatch. It was only fate that they were to meet. To Karu, pidgey was not a tool for battle, though they often fought others, but a friend. Her only real family...
     
    The next morning, I woke up after sleeping quite awkwardly on my bed. the moment I went to roll over I fell on the ground hard. This caused my pokeballs to open on my belt and out came charmander and poochyena. They were still sleeping as it was is very early and the sun was only just edging over the mountains. My pokemon decided to sit on me for punishment for waking them up. I tickled them and they rolled on the floor laughing. They then tickled me and we were 1 big laughing mess on the floor. The other people sleeping at the pokemon center told me to either shut up or go outside. We decided to go outside for a run. We came back panting and by now the sun had fully risen. In the pokecenter Era had just woken up and was staring at a young boy who looked vaguely familiar. He turned to look at us and I instantly knew who it was. "Geno!" I yelled as I ran up to greet him, "Long time no see!" We shook hands ferociously. Then I spied a girl about my age with a pidgey by her side, scanning the pokecenter. I walked over to her over because I had memory that I had met her somewhere before. "Hey. Umm have I met you somewhere before? Because I have a very strong feeling that I have."
     
    Karu looked up at the boy before her. Her pidgey snarled at the male, but stopped immediately as his friend placed her hand over his crown. The young woman stood up, looking Minty over.

    "It depends," she said monotonously. "I'm Karu. Monokai Karu, that is. And you are?" She smiled deviously, lifting her mossy eyes to template his own.

    Oooooh... Karu, don't you dare!
     
    "Karu Eh? Well actually I don't have a name 'cause everyone forgot it but everyone calls me Minty so yeah. The guy over there showing off his Quilava is Era and the young boy standing next to him is called Geno. Have you ever been to Cherrygrove City or New Bark Town because I live in Cherrygrove and Era lives in New Bark Town. Geno lives here but my dad knows his dad so we visit each other sometimes." After I said this I was out of breath and the girl just stared at me, a little stunned that I could talk so much with out taking a breath.
     
    Karu eyed him, raising an eyebrow. "Well then, Minty, pleasure to make your acquaintence." She crossed her eyes before letting them wander again. "I'm from... An oceanic city... But that's beside that point. Mind if I join your party?"

    Karu, we do fine on our own! We don't need three other guys tagging along!

    Karu looked to her friend, shaking her head.

    "So where are you three headed?"
     
    "Not at all. The more the merrier. Well Era and I taking the pokemon league challenge. We came here because this was the nearest city with a pokemon gym. We just caught up with Geno today but I think he is doing the same thing. Well you can wait here with Geno and Era if you want but I'm off to challenge the gym leader here. As I walked out of the pokemon center I called my Pokemon out and gave them a pep talk. "OK guys are you ready for this? We going to face a gym leader today and they are tougher than normal trainers but I know we can win!" I told them with conviction in my eyes. Charmander and poochyena both cheered and I called them back into their pokeballs. I walked over to the gym and yelled, "I'm here to challenge the leader of this gym to a Battle!" A guy walked out about 1-2 years older than me and said, "I am Faulkner, the gym leader here and I accept your challenge! Go Pidgey!" And a pidgey appeared on the battlefield. "Well I choose you Poochyena!" I yelled as I threw Poochyena's pokeball. Poochyena came out snarling, ready for a fight. "Pidgey use tackle!" Pidgey came flying towards poochyena and knocked him to the ground.
    "Poochyena are you alright? Good. Then show pidgey a real tackle!" Poochyena ran full blast at pidgey and rammed it to the other side of the room where pidgey hit the wall and slid to the ground. "Pidgey?! Pidgey get up please!!" Faulkner pleaded to his pidgey. It got up off the ground but looked very weak. "Now poochyena finish it off with another tackle!" This time when poochyena hit it, there was no chace that it would get back up. "Return Pidgey. You did a good job. Have a long rest. Now," he said as he looked at me, "time for me to finish this! Go Pidgeotto!" A pidgeotto appeared in a flash of red light. "Pidgeotto, use gust!" Pidgeotto flapped its wings creating a vortex of wind which poochyena was caught in. The vortex carried poochyena up in the air near the roof and then dissipitated. Poochyena fell to the ground and fainted. "Return." I called out and poochyena came back into its pokeball. "Charmander I choose you!" I yelled as I released Charmander. "Charmander use ember!" I told him. Charmander fired red hot embers at Pidgeotto and they hit right between it eyes. Pidgeotto was burned from that intense fire attack. "Pidgeotto use gust!" Yet again Pidgeotto made a wind vortex and it headed towards Charmander but I had a plan. "Charmander! Run around the vortex and behind Pidgeotto!" Charmander ran and watched as the wind followed him. Pidgeotto was caught in its own gust attack! The wind slammed pidgeotto to the ground and it was knocked out. "Yay! I won! I won!" I yelled for the whole world to hear as Faulkner recalled is beaten pidgeotto. He came over and shook my hand. "Well done. Well done. You battle like a champion today Minty. Here this is yours." he said as he handed me an official Pokemon League badge. "This is the Zephr badge. It is a token that you have defeated the Violet City Gym Leader in a pokemon battle." I thanked him kindly and went back to the pokemon center to give Charmander and Poochyena a good long rest.
     
    Meanwhile down by the pond Era was sitting with Quilava.He noticed a Tailow fly by. Era told Quilava to use Ember.It did so making the Tailow swoop low where Quilava tackled it.Era threw a Pokeball and captured Tailow. Then he went to heal Tailow. It came out OK and Tailow chirped. Era reappeared at the gym. Falkner was sitting down when Era, Quilava and Tailow appeared in the doorway. They planned to have a Battle.Falkner used his fancy machine to heal his Pokemon. He first sent out his Pidgey while Era sent out Quilava. Pigey used Mud Slap which quilava jumped over and used Tackle crashing down on Pidgey.The Fire on its head buned Pidgey and they hit the ground.Quilava was left standing.However instead of sending out Pidgeotto, Falkner sent out Noctowl.It flew up in the air and used Sky attack which took Quilava out. Era sent in Tailow and it dodged every attack that Noctowl did.Era told it to use gust and fly from the bottom of gust to the top.It did so giving more speed and then used Quick Attack beating Noctowl and winning.

    I walked through town with Geno and Karu looking for Era. We thought he might be in the gym so we got to the gym and walked inside. We came just in time to see Era being given his first badge. "Congratulations Era! Now we both have earned of first badge! Are you two going to challenge the leader now, or are you going to get some more pokemon first?" I asked Geno and Karu. I waited patiently for an answer.
     
    Karu turned her head to the side, her lips parted slightly. Her breathing was heavy, and the pidgey on her shoulder nuzzled the trainer's head softly. "No..." For once, the girl's voice wasn't blunt... She seemed... All too distant.

    Karu...

    Inside, the young one was sobbing, though she would never show it on her outer shell. But it only took seconds before Karu was back to her old, blunt, spunky self. "Let's go. Unless Genie here wants to take on Faulky." She grinned, winking at the boy. But what more could happen than our Karu bumping into the bird patron himself while saying so. Faulkner raised an eyebrow at the young woman. "Faulky?" he inquired. Giggles were heard amongst her accomplises. "Yes. I found you deserving of one of my famed nicknames." She joked, smiling sarcastically. He grinned slightly. "Then why don't you challenge me? If I'm already so deserving...?" Karu dropped her smile, her misty eyes narrowed at the remark.
     
    "Hey! Leave her alone! You can't talk! You just lost 2 battles in a row to kids younger than you who only got their first pokemon yesterday!!!" I was pretty infuriated with the guy teasing my new friend. "Come on you guys we'll help Karu train her pidgey so she can beat him! I don't care if you don't want to beat him, your gonna beat him just so you can see that smirk get wiped off his face!!" I left the gym dragging Karu by her arm towards a grassy plain outside of town where we could train making Karu look a little embarrassed.
