You know, I've always wondered why Nintendo won't make a Pokemon MMORPG. I mean it could be the ultimate fun of pokemon, meeting new people during your journeys, battling? (Maybe in an action based system?) and trade with other people. Maybe make it so that you can mount some of your pokemon like arcanine, rapidash, wailord, etc. You can explore all of the regions and join in stadium contests in the cities and make it so that the trainer has to be the one fainted in order to "black out" instead of when your pokemon get fainted because it's a little more realistic that way. I mean it would rack up the money for nintendo big time if they did this. I'm sure people have talked about it… but anyways enough dreaming. What are your thoughts?

Gonna move this over to Pokemon Gaming Central because I'm pretty sure there's not a thread on this there at the moment.

Although the idea would seem cool, making a game like that will take out the social activity there is in Pokemon.Believe me riding round on an Arcanine Dragonite or possibly a Rayquaza would be epic. Getting outside to meet friends,Events,Traveling coast to coast I think it be fine the way is it
    And besides.........
It kinda actually already is you just have ya cartridge on you instead of a whole cpu or laptop

I think it would be harder to do than people think.

Action based system would require a complete overhaul of Pokemon battles, meaning everything we know about Pokemon battling today would be useless in those games.

Maybe make it so that you can mount some of your pokemon like arcanine, rapidash, wailord, etc.

Well, we can already surf so that isn't a problem, but we have Bikes for land speed. Cool idea, but rather pointless.

By the time you finish one region, your Pokemon would be at least in at level 50 or higher, meaning it wouldn't be long before your Pokemon are all Level 100 and you've only cleared maybe 2 regions with 3 more to go.

and make it so that the trainer has to be the one fainted in order to "black out" instead of when your pokemon get fainted because it's a little more realistic that way.

More realistic = higher rating, possibly being Teen. Battle Revolution was almost rated Teen for realistic battling, but the damaged arena aspect was removed and saved it from a higher rating.

Plus, that would imply the Pokemon are being used to attack humans, something that is heavily looked down on in the Pokemon universe.

It would only make money if people bought it, but I think people would much rather keep Pokemon on handhelds. That's what I love about Pokemon, that I can take it anywhere with me if I want, and I don't have to sit in front of a computer to play it.

I think it would present more problems for the franchise than offer it a change to make more money. Pokemon already is a successful franchise, so there is no need to change it. Besides, with Wi-Fi like it is today, we pretty much have MMO features already, just in a different way. We can even talk to our opponets through the DS, so it's not like we don't have these features in some form or another already.

I wish people could realize it's not gonna happen. Be satisfied with other MMORPGs that are out there, even though it's not Nintendo.

Personally I don't see the need for an MMO it just doesn't seem to fit the mold of what Pokemon is about. If they do anything like this it will seem to be a Spin Off for me. Pokemon mainly seems about RPGs so I think their may focus will be that for the duration Pokemon games are around on the scene.
