"Brace yourself.. She's coming!"
That's exactly what Rani did. What on earth had Len been thinking when he taunted Kara so? Rani had half a mind to just let Len get the beating such folly deserved, but she couldn't just leave him. She growled at Kara as she glided towards them and braced herself for impact-
But none came. The Gliscor seemed to be made drowsy as she glared at Len, and then fell out of the sky.

After a few moments of stunned silence, Len let out a sigh of relief and asked what they should do with Kara, prompting Rani to let out the huge breath she didn't realise she'd been holding. She set free a relieved and disbelieving laugh. Kara, the notorious sidekick of one of the greatest criminals in history, had been so easily entranced and put to sleep? Well, she wasn't complaining...

Rani then glanced over at her teammates. They were tired and somewhat hurt, but they had all made it through.
"Well done, everyone!" she exclaimed before turning to Len and grinning at him. "Great timing, Len!" She then glanced back at the others, and specifically Shierk, who had not yet got back on his feet since his attack on Kara. She quickly bounded over to him and smiled down at him, then from her fur produced the spare Oran Berry she had taken from the infirmary. She hadn't thought it would be needed this soon, but Kara's appearance had quite thrown off any sort of plan. Rani sat down, and with one hand rubbed the fur just behind and below Shierk's prongs comfortingly, while placing the Oran Berry in front of him with the other.
"Well, we managed to stop her," she said to the group, then suddenly looked over to where Kara had been trying to escape, exclaiming "The portal!"

Len looked up to where the portal SHOULD have been. "Gah. Kara must have closed it when she went after me. Smart move... We could have went in that portal and found Darkari if it was still open..." Len explained. Still even if they did find darkari, What good what it do? They don't stand a chance against him right now. And as for kara... What to do....

"If we're going to do anything, It's question her. It would be better if other officers took her away from Treasure city and locked her up. If we keep her here, She'll just open another portal and escape when she wakes up."

Rani frowned at the place where the portal once was.
"That's too bad," she agreed, looking over at Kara's unconscious form. "Well, let's not stand here chinwagging; Hypnosis doesn't last that long, but if Kara's constantly been around a creature who causes nightmares then her mind may react differently to forced sleep... We might have more time than usual, but that's not certain and even if it was, every minute wasted is a minute Darkrai gets closer to wreaking havoc again. We need to have her transported as quickly as possible. Now, where should we send her?"

Shierk continued to lie on the ground, still drained from his Ice Punch. He felt someone stand over him and wondered silently who it was. He heard a familiar snarl and he grinned. It was Rani. Of course. He then felt her presence leave him, triggering alarm in his mind. He heard some comotion and he tried to open his eyes but found that he could not. Len started taunting Kara which probably was not the best idea. Then Kara yelled something. It seemed to be directed at Len, but Shierk was not one-hundered percent positive as the others could have easily shifted positions since he fell. Then, Kara said something strange. "Oooooh... pretty twirly thing. Kara is tired now." Shierk felt his left 'eyebrow' raise. What on earth did Kara mean? Wait, swirly thing....Of course! Len must have learned Hypnosis. That was great timing. Seriously. She might have escaped if he hadn't taunted her, and she might have killed him if he hadn't used Hypnosis. Shierk's eyebrow went down again as he felt someone approach him. An object was placed near him and someone began rubbing his head. Rani. Shierk sent her affection, Elekid-style in the form of a light spark. He opened his eyes and smiled at her, sending across another spark.

Then he realized they were talking about Kara. Shierk sat up and looked at Len. "On the subject of keeping her in stasis, I may be able to freeze her still sopping wet body. If that's not a option, then I could try to affect her through static." Shierk scratched the back of his head and winced. "Ow. guess I took more damage than I thought. Anyway..." Shierk stared at the ground. "D-did I look any different when I was attacking Kara? I remember a feeling of..Insanity. I actually felt like I was enjoying that attack...." Shierk stared down at the ground. it felt...like I had eaten a bunch of rawst berries, and I was never asleep So I was jittery and wired." Shierk just sighed at this and he then smiled at Rani when he remembered her standing over him. "Was that instinct that possesed you to protect me? Or something else?" He picked up the Oran berry that sat in front of him and he bit into it smiling.

(OOC: I get Laptop priveliges (<<not sure how to spell that..) for all of today. oh and I just realized, since Len taunted Kara, does that mean somewhere along the lines he learned Taunt? because it worked the way it does in the games, preventing auxillary attacks (Kara's portal) and causing the opponent pokemon to use only damaging attacks.)

Mack never planned ahead about what they should do with their prisoner.
Len did have a good point on questioning her, then again, if she awoke, she could escape. For all that she needed to summon a portal was apparently her own mind.
Rani implied that they should transport her to another location. But the question is: Where?
Unfortunately, Mack wasn't sure either. After all, she is no ordinary criminal.

(OOC: It's spelled 'Privileges'. And as for Len's taunting......to be honest, I never thought about that. From what I can tell, Len may have been just taunting her normally and not using the actual move. Of course we should hear Megaman's opinion though.

As Rani thought about where best to send Kara, a small spark touched her and she looked down at the figure of Shierk beside her. He still had his eyes closed, but he then opened them and smiled up at her before letting off another small spark to show his affection.
"Shierk," she murmured quietly, "I'm so glad you're okay..."

Shierk then sat up and offered some ideas on keeping Kara in stasis somehow. Freezing or manipulating Static were both very good ideas. He then looked slightly embarrased and asked about his looking a little insane when he was attacking. After receiving no immediate reply, he then smiled up at Rani again.
"Was that instinct that possesed you to protect me? Or something else?"

Shierk's question sent alarm bells ringing in her mind and a warmth through her cheeks. She looked at him curiously. Was he suggesting that she had special feelings for him or something? Shierk smiled at her, biting into the Oran Berry she'd given him.

"I- I protected you because you were in danger." she replied hurriedly. "I- I'm the bodyguard in this team. It's my duty to protect you lot from harm, and I'd already failed to protect you, Len and Hayley from Kara's X Scissor attack. I wasn't going to let it happen again. I'm a Growlithe. Loyalty's in my blood. S- So yes, in a way it was instinct, because at the time you were the most in danger. If you remember, which you might not, I left you to protect Len after he taunted Kara because he was the most in danger from her attack. Then I came back to you because... Because it's my job to make sure none of you lot get seriously hurt. I had to see if you were alright."

Rani could only hope that the heat rising in her cheeks was covered by her fur.
There was no other reason than Growlithe loyalty and a want to do her job, right? There wasn't anything special specifically due to it being Shierk, was there?
'Of course not!' she attempted to convince herself, though the heat in her cheeks and her more frantically beating heart told her otherwise. 'Time to change the topic!'

She turned to the other recruits.
"What Shierk suggests is good; put her in some sort of stasis to make sure she doesn't wake up before we manage to transport her... Somewhere. PokeTraz would be our safest bet for such a high security prisoner," she offered, "Though if Darkrai escaped from there he could probably break her out... That is, if she is invaluble to him. A sidekick defeated so easily may be what Darkrai wants to avoid. He may not bother to try and rescue her at all..."

Rokan released Kara's tail, her nose wrinkled. The Gliscor tasted horrible. She made a mental note, if she were to ever learn Bite, not to use it on a Gliscor if she could help it. The debate began quickly after over where to house Kara now that she was incapacitated and at their will.

"We should most definitely get her out of Treasure City," she agreed. Out of the corner of her eye she caught Rani and Shierk's affectionate appraisal of each other's health. She wasn't sure whether the frightfully public display made her feel warm and fuzzy inside or need to vomit. There was even a small portion of her that felt jealous; no one had asked if she was alright. No one had even stopped to think about maybe she'd swallowed a mouthful of venom or something and was dying as they spoke.

Okay, so she was being dramatic. But the fundamental point was still there.

She tore her attention away, determined to focus on the more important task at hand. "Poketraz seems like the perfect place for her," she agreed with Rani. "She'd need guards to keep an eye on her at all times, but Poketraz is my vote. Without his puppet Darkrai won't be weakened much, but he will at least have to show his face if he wants things done. That will make finding and apprehending him so much easier. It's a huge stride we've made here today."

Rani was glad to have Rokan agree with her, glad to hear another Pokemon speak. It provided a great distraction from the question of whether she had protected Shierk out of Growlithe instinct or a growing attraction to him-
Attraction? She had never even thought about it that way before. Surely he wasn't even that attractive. For starters, he was an Elekid, not another Growlithe, not even a fellow Fire Type or quadruped. Then there was the whole issue of his scar; the very distracting scar which had got her into this whole mess in the first place, and the ring in his prong just looked silly-
Rani's eyes grew momentarily wide as she mentally scolded herself for still thinking about Shierk like that at such a crucial moment, and she ignored the small voice at the back of her mind that argued that, despite this, he had a cheeky smile that was really quite endearing.

"Thank you, Rokan," she called over to the Vulpix, whose nose was wrinkled, probably from having been so near to that lowlife Gliscor.
"You're right, capturing Kara so quickly is certainly a huge leap for us already. I agree that Kara will most certainly require twenty-four hour surveillance."
Rani slowly stood up, thinking about the situation. "She'd also have to be secured in place to stop her producing another portal and flying into it to escape from custody..."

Mack was paying so much attention to the conversation that it nearly forgot that it was holding Kara's pistol (almost had it startled).
Quickly, Mack pointed it away from everyone else so that no accidents will happen. It certainly looked unusual, Mack had no idea where anyone could buy one like this. Then again, Mack never did visit a firearm shop.
"Perhaps I should try unloading it, just in case Kara, or any other criminals, gets their hands on it." Mack said in its mind.
It was difficult to handle it; Mack didn't have any fingers. It closely examined it and saw a little lever on it. "That must be the loader." Carefully, Mack lifted it and....BANG!!
The pistol fired into the air. It startled Mack so much that it nearly dropped it.
Nervously, Mack turned and to see if anyone reacted.
"........oops." Mack said quickly, along with a slight grin to feel less nerve-wrecked.

((OOC: About the whole "Len taunting kara" thing, I wouldn't say he learned the actual move. It was just instinct to get kara as mad as possible. Still Len's taunt did work like in the game.. but he can't learn taunt by any means. So no. He didn't learn taunt. Len was just being really cocky.))

Len just kept thinking and thinking of a place to send Kara. Though he really couldn't. He didn't know about any other areas besides Treasure city and his own home. Besides, If Darkari cared, He would just come and find Kara himself... While Len was thinking, Mack was Tinkering around with the pistol he took from kara and accidentally shot it into the air. "Meep!" Len yelled, Falling on his behind. It startled him so much that an idea struck in his head (If you want to call it a head).

"For starters, We should keep her from flying. If she can't fly, She can't fight. Also bringing her with us to poketraz wouuld be dangerous. Darkari could go there and try to....rescue.......kara....! Ah! That it!" Len exclaimed. "What if we used her to lure Darkari to us? If Darkari dosn't come, Then we'll have to think of something different... But we can at least question her!"

While Rani continued to think about where best to keep Kara, she was studiously avoiding looking at the Elekid who sat next to her. Having been distracted from thinking about him by the discussion about Kara, her cheeks were beginning to cool slightly and her manic heart rate was slowing.
However, it at once leapt up again as a gunshot broke her chain of thought, and she recoiled, taking a step backwards and tripping over Shierk's leg. With a small cry of shock, she fell backwards onto her back next to the Elekid. She once again blushed deeply as she looked up at him momentarily, and at once memories of the tickling incident flowed into her mind. She immediately rolled over and rose quickly to her feet, trying to regain her dignity. Her head swung around to glare at Mack, who was holding Kara's pistol sheepishly.
While she had been falling over and getting herself back on her feet, Len had been making a good point, which she had caught the gist of. Disable Kara's flight ablilty, and she would be much less of a threat. That was certainly a good idea, but...
She made to start speaking in reply, but her heart was beating at a rate of knots and she was finding her breath hard to catch. She took in and let out a couple of large breaths before attempting to reply again.
"Luring in Darkrai might not be the best idea at the moment," she offered. "After all, we're still quite weak Pokemon. To attempt to lure out Darkrai could be suicide."
Changing the subject, she hissed at Mack: "I know it was an accident, but it really would be best if we avoided sudden loud noises like gunshots if we're to avoid Kara waking up and escaping."

So Rani was now doing everything to avoid him. Well that didn't matter. What mattered now was the gliscor that was sleeping on the ground. Shierk was just thinking when he heard the bang. then something stepped on his foot which startled him further. he noticed it was Rani too late, and sparks flew everywhere in a cloud all around him, zapping everyone within ten feet. When the attack was over, Shierk just looked at the ground sheepishly "Sorry everyone."

Rani had barely finished speaking before a huge zap coursed through her body, and looking up, she saw that it was nearly everyone else's bodies, too. She glared at Shierk, who was apologising sheepishly, and snarled at him viciously, her anger overriding the niggle at the back of her mind was thinking about how cute he currently looked.
"What are you doing!?" she hissed. "What if you wake Kara?" She sighed at the electric type Pokemon. "I think you need to gain a bit more control over that tendency to zap everything when you're taken by surprise..."
Rani then took in and let out a small breath.
"But I guess it wasn't really your fault, Shierk. It was my fault for being so taken by surprise by the gunshot. I'm sorry for stepping on your paw..." She smiled at Shierk again, hoping he wasn't mad at her.

"Thank heavens Kara didn't wake up from that alarming shot!" Mack said to itself in relief.
Although, the gunfire caused a domino effect. Len fell over completely, Rani tripped over Shierk, Shierk reacted by causing a small shock wave in the ground.
".....Gee wiz, I always knew that guns are dangerous, but this is ridiculous." It thought.

Incredibly, Len almost immediately came with a plan. To disable Kara's flying ability to prevent any escaping opportunities and that taking her to Pokétraz island could lure Darkrai to them if he wanted to retrieve her. But Rani thought otherwise, claiming that it would be far too dangerous to go up against Darkrai so soon.
"She does have a good point. If it took all of us to take down Kara, just imagine what power and experience we should need to even get close to defeating Darkrai."
Mack was not the kind of Pokémon to be scared easily, but Darkrai was one of the most (if not the most frightening Pokémon alive.
"But first things first. We have to think of a way to prevent Kara from fleeing. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience in anatomy. We cannot just clip her wings......could we?"
Mack was sounding like a scientist of some sort this moment. It felt both good and weird for Mack.

"Hmm I guess your right. Darkari would wipe us out. Guess I just got sorta overconfident after beating kara..." Len even thought it was a dumb idea now that he thought about it. They still have to practice before even thinking about fighting darkari. Len continued...

"Anyways about her wings... Nothing cruel. Sure she's a criminal, But we don't want to do anything drastic to her wings. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about when I mean "Drastic". What if we tied the wings around her? With rope or something stronger?"

"That sounds reasonable. What could we use that has more strength than ropes?" Mack wondered.
It remembered from most stories it read and heard, usually the villain would tie a innocent citizen for ransom with ropes, likewise the hero would to the villain. But now that Mack thought about it, a villain like Kara would probably cut out of the ropes with her pincers.
"....Metal cords? ......Chains? What do you suppose would work?"

Rani had been continuing to smile questioningly and hopefully at Shierk as Mack and Len spoke, but as yet he had not replied to her, so she averted her eyes to reply to Mack's query.
"What about some sort of sticky bug stuff, like a strong String Shot or something. Of course, Kara is part Flying Type; she might easily escape from it, but it's worth a shot. I've heard that Ariados webs are super strong; perhaps if we used something like that?"
She sighed and looked at her feet again. "I do not know..." she admitted.

Rokan sat on her haunches and tilted her head as she considered the possibilities. "I'm sure there are links of chain inside," she offered. "Rani and I both know fire type moves, so instead of tying or padlocking the chains we could probably weld them shut, as long as we were careful not to burn her or ourselves. I think I could manage it, especially if Len and the others could stand by with their water moves, ready to cool the links if they get too hot, and to douse them when we're done welding them so that they'll stay in place. How does that sound?"

After Rokan offered her solution of welding chains around Kara, Rani stared over at the vulpix, her eyes wide.
"I'd probably never even consider that!" she exclaimed. "That, Rokan, is a great idea!" She nodded enthusiastically and grinned at the vulpine Pokemon. "I'd certainly be happy to help, if I could."

Shierk was still staring at the ground as they were talking about how to keep Kara in stasis. Ropes cords Ariados silk. Then thay came across Shierk's territory. They were going to build metal chains. Shierk grinned. "Leave chain making to a metal worker. I can help make the chains to bind Kara. Remember the weapons I mentioned earlier? How I made them myself?" Shierk's grin grew wider. "Finally I'm going to be back in my element. But first, Mack We're going to need to put your magnets to work. Find an iron deposit somewhere near here and get haley and len help you soften the ground around it. from there your magnets should be able to pull up that Iron. After that, I'll need Rokan and Rani. If you two can get a fire going, Then I should be able to set up a makeshift forge." Shierk's eyes glowed. He was going to get to do something he loved.
