Wow, this is one helluva bump (seriously, I wasn't even fourteen when this was abandoned!) That being said, I think you should work on the battle sprites quite a bit. It looks quite bad (and I'm no expert spriter). The OW's don't look too bad, though I think you might need to work on the maps. Also, a suggestion; would it be too much of a hassle to put in a sprite of a scroll (summoning scroll) instead of a pokeball. That would fit the series a bit better.
Of course, this thread had been necro-bumped to an insane degree, so I think these requests might fall upon deaf ears.
