    Name: Pokemon: Neo Ruby
    Hack of: Pokemon Ruby(U)

This is just my idea for a hack.

    Background:
5 years after the battle between Groudon and Kyogre(Yes both), Hoenn has been changed a lot. Part is drenched in an eternal rain, while the rest is covered by immense sunlight. New Pokemon are found in areas as a result. The citizens have renamed most areas to deal with the new landscapes of the region. There are several areas that have not been explored as of the time.

    Story:
You(The main character) and your family have moved to Downpour Town, formerly Littleroot Town. After introducing yourself to your neighbors(Birch), you hear somebody screaming. You head north to where the Drenched Path(Formerly Route 101) starts, and see Birch being chased by a Pokemon(Same as Ruby) who asks you to use one ofthe Pokemon in his bag. You go into his bag and see three Pokeballs. After making your selection, the game plays the same as Ruby for a short while. Now both Aqua and Magma want to release their respective Pokemon once more to end the strange weather patterns.
As you play through the game, you notice some unusual occurences, such as going from Rain to Drought or Pokemon once extinct now alive.

You may be asking: what is the difference between this and Ruby?

For starters, the starters of all three regions are in the wild in this. The starters in the hack, however, are not the usual ones of any region. They are in fact the psuedo-legendaries lowest forms(Beldum, Bagon, and Larvitar). Yeah it may seem too overly powerful for the start of the game, but since the trainers and wild Pokemon have had some new developments(Such as level and species), the advantage doesn't exist. Most importantly, both Kyogre and Groudon will be catchable.

This is what I have so far, as far as the idea goes.

Well, actually, it sounds like it could be good... but you won't want to stick to close to the original Ruby. If it's more or less a mapping hack, it won't be that interesting. But if you make the events different....

In fact, an even cooler idea would be that Groudon and Kyogre are still free - somewhere - and that's why the weather is still loopy. Archie and Maxie have realized their mistakes, and are now working together to try and stop the two legends. You could have them try many different things, but eventually, of course, they would have to find Rayquaza. And instead of trying to defeat them, the player would try to help them, but maybe something, or someone, else wouldn't understand what they are doing, and would try to stop the three of you.

That would stick with the idea of the raging elemental chaos, while making an interesting and original story; but you'll have to check and make sure no one else has had the same idea, because unfortunately I don't know. I never heard it anywhere, but that doesn't mean no one else has thought of it.
