Okay, I'm sure there's already a thread for this, but I'm new, bare with me.

One of my favorite things about Pokemon, is that you get to nickname your pokeomon. It's so much fun:D

I like to come up with original names, that suit that species of Pokemon, to do this, I often use Latin, or Greek pre/suf-fixes. (get back to you on an example.)

Or, I sometimes use a babynames website.

What are some of your nicknames you have used, and why?
Here are some examples of mine:

AGGRON: CROM-the god of steel in some ancient mythology (can't remember which)
RYDON: CRAG- doesn't that word have SOMeTHING to do with rocks? I think..?
WAILORD: Wyland-there is an artist down in Florida who paints Huge murals of marine animals, like dolphins, and Wales, Wyland is his last name.

KADABRA:Sophomost.-sopho is a prefix that means something like Love of Knowledge

The three legendary dogs: though I can't remember thier names (help me out)

The Electric one, I named Ramah-the thunder diety that can be summoned in the Final Fantasy Series
The Fire one-Surtur-the Norse god of Fire
the water one -Posieden-the Greek god of the seas

Don't worry, it's understandable if you're new, and if you know all those roots you're definitely not a n00b =D...pokemon game-related topics go in the pokemon game forums (this case general games discussion since nicknames span all games), and a topic on it exists there: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/54070 I suppose just c/p your post from here into there and hope you get responses.
