    The Plot:
The main character is a self insert who wants to prove that the legendary pokemon are real and not just bedtime stories that parents tell their children to go to sleep or scare them. She originally lived in the Hoenn region until she turned 18 and entered a study abroad program in Sinnoh in order to research the legendary trio Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Coulson, a torchic and her first pokemon is left behind because he couldn't get through customs, and is highly miffed that he couldn't be with her to start on her first pokemon journey. She made him a promise that after her two year contract to study abroad was up, she would take him throughout Hoenn, and they'd become the champion together. He prays that she keeps that promise, because there's nothing more that he wants than to be by her side when the champion steps down and 'crowns' her as Hoenn's champion.
While in Sinnoh, she makes a deal with Professor Rowan that she'd fill up some pokedex pages in exchange for a partner pokemon to aid on her research. He warns her that pokemon die, and advises her to take the gym challenge in order to get to Cynthia who could aid her research. She receives a Piplup, which she dubs Caesar. The two of them begin their journey together, hoping to prove the legends are real.
    The World:
There are pokemon games within the world of pokemon marketed to children. They aid in learning about type weaknesses, pokemon, etc. however, the pokemon in the games only faint, instead of die. After all its a children's game.
Pokemon die in battle. Very few people have the strength to deal with that and pursue the trainer career. Many choose the contest option, or breeder options as careers, or just have pokemon as pets.
Trainers can understand their pokemon once a level of friendship is achieved. Thus the main character in the series is able to easily understand Coulson the torchic after having lived with him.
Legendary pokemon are thought by almost all the world's population to be myths like the Loch Ness monster, or the Missing Link. A handful have actually seen them, but none have photographic evidence, only the written word and paintings.
    The rules:
    1. If a pokemon faints, it is considered dead and must be released
    a) The starter pokemon is exempt from this rule in order to keep the comic going
    b) Shinies are exempt from this rule, however they must be boxed after they faint, and never to see the light of day again.
    2. Catch the first pokemon on each route
    a) No dupes clause
b)If you miss the first one, you get two more tries.
    3. No healing items may be purchased
    a) healing items that are found may be used, except for revives and max revives.
    b) Pokeballs may be purchased.
    4. Legendaries may be caught
    5. Nickname ALL pokemon caught.

This is quite a fascinating approach to the regular Nuzlocke comics! Very rare to hear a Trainer that doesn't believe in Legendary Pokemon. I like it. Your art style is also very unique and something I don't see very often. Good start! Can't wait to read the next strips.

My particular trainer does and wants to prove their existance, she wants an explanation to why things are the way they are, knowing that pokemon are quite powerful, maybe just powerful enough to shape the universe itself in some way. The possibility that there are physical "god" pokemon is just fascinating to her.
Its just that the legendary pokemon are bedtime stories to the children, thus they generally don't believe in them. They believe that they are just stories told to shape their morals, to tell right from wrong, and scare them into doing certain things. They believe that those that do believe in the Legendary Pokemon are nutjobs at best.

Here's the newest strip! Hope y'all enjoy. Now featuring more of Coulson (who I think is adorable) and my trainer. I won't say much more because all will be revealed in the comic! Enjoy~
