  • INTRODUCTION
    After the failure of the hack (and poorly recieved), I decided I needed
    something more powerful, a computer game. Thus, this project was born.
    The game VERY loosely follows the anime through the ORANGE ISLANDS.
    There is also some of my own stuff thrown in to handle portions
    that the anime did not clearly explain.​

    Coded in: RPG Maker XP​

    STORY
    After beating the INDIGO LEAGUE quite some time ago, PROFESSOR OAK asks
    you to go to the ORANGE ISLANDS and get the GS BALL from PROFESSOR IVY.
    He also mentions there as an ORANGE LEAGUE you should compete in.​

    On top of that, after OAK asks you to go to JOHTO, you discover TEAM
    ROCKET is at it again. This time, in ECRUTEAK CITY. Though it isn't clear
    what they're up to, it can't be good.​

    As if that isn't enough, something has upset the BALANCE OF POWER, and
    it's coming from around SHAMOUTI ISLAND.​

    FEATURES
    - Starter: ESPEON
    - Explore four regions: KANTO, ORANGE, JOHTO, REEMAN ISLAND
    - New "LUGIA" menu system (later in game): replaced with better ideas and easier interface
    - Voices from "The Power Of One"
    - Music from the original motion picture "The Power Of One"
    - Catch all POKEMON, plus some new FAKEMON (3)
    - New attacks
    - Hidden BLACK MARKET to buy hard to find items
    - Stronger legendaries
    - Over sixty hours of gameplay (assumes that you catch all POKEMON)
    - Running inside
    - CINNABAR ISLAND glitches
    - Many more​

    BUGS/GLITCHES/ETC

    - If you lose on top of NAVAL ISLAND MOUNTAIN, for some reason you go back to
    SUNBURST ISLAND, with no way to get back.
    - If you lose to a trainer battle, you get warped to seemingly random places.
    I can't find the problem in script or event, so for now just save often and
    reset if you lose.​

    Before switching from the demo to the full version, make sure that you got passed KURT in AZAELA TOWN, or you will have to start a new game. If you need to start a new game, just download the full version, and start from there. If you got passed KURT, make sure your screen size is 480X320 because you won't be able to change it in the full version. Then, download the game and copy and paste the save file (game.rxdata) to the new folder. You can then delete the demo folder. If you didn't play the demo, none of this applies. Simply download the game and get started!

    Make sure that you read the README.PDF to understand how FLY works. If you have any questions feel free to post here or PM me. Using FLY will allow you to get to the TRAINING HALL on TANGELO ISLAND practically anytime. If you are under level, it is a great place to work.​

  • Interesting.Oh the first screenshot, you have some buildings from Gen2 mixed with graphics from Gen3, are thoes just placeholder or is it going to be like that. It looks odd.

  • The original plan was to have just like the screenshot, but the longer I look at it, the less I like the generation 3 MART, so I will probably end up changing it. The POKeCENTER and the GYM are FR/LG buildings, so they look different too, but in Generation 3 and up, they looked significantly different anyway. I probably will change the MART though.

    I was, too! ^_^ The building in question is the one in the first screenshot (the purple building). I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to replace it with yet, but it will definately change!

    but its all the OTHER ones in that screenshot that need to be replaced o_o;;;

  • I have uploaded two new screenshots for the full releaase version. More will come as I make progress.

    I'm trying to update the percentages everytime I work so that everyone knows the project is being worked on.

    Until then, enjoy the demo!

    I'm going to play around with some ideas. I like the look of the retro buildings, but at the same time I see the problem with the generations. It might end up being a custom project.

    You're repeating the same single grass tile in every screen I've seen, and to be honest it looks pretty bad. Try using the other tiles provided with the default tileset to mix things up a litte bit, and make the ground look more natural and less grid-like.

    Thanks. I'll probably do that and add some roads/streets through the city. I was thinking it looked kinda bland!

    The transition when you walk in or out a building looks not smooth enough the same at the stairs. It would look probably better if you use this:
    @> Change skreen color tone: (-255,-255,-255,0) @6
    @> Wait: 8 frames
    @> Transfer player: [the spot where the door is], Down
    @> Set move route: Player
    : :$>Move Down
    @> Change skreen color tone: (0,0,0,0) @6

    this makes it look like he walks out the door not appears directly before it.

    There are many things not done in the demo, and one of them is details (in every sense of the word). I'm not exactly sure how I want to do it yet, but I'm going to make custom door animations. It will probably be one of the last things I do, though.

    i love orange islands!
    if you update the tiles and sprites
    to the 4th gen,I let you use my Misty overworld ^^
    in deviantart,i put a watermark on it,so,if you needed,
    just pm me ^^
    EDIT
    just played the demo.
    I liked how in the forest,the battle bg is from the anime,
    you should do it in all types of field
    Change gba to ds tiles and overworlds,battle,etc
    The battle is kinda strange,I think the battle animation
    should be inproved.
    i think all the music should be from the game :3
    Oh,for surfing lapras,use the special overworlds from
    HG/SS,look for it in spriters resource,i cant post link :(

  • There are many graphics improvements coming in the final version, some of which mistakingly got cut from the demo. However, the tiles will reamain GBA tilesets. Sorry.

    The music may or may not change. I'm having trouble getting what I want to happen working.

    Problem

    "RGSS Player have stopped working" It says when I try to open the game on my Windows 7 :( Tried running as administrator and compabillity mode but it didnt belp :c i really want to play this, it looks awesome >.<

    Try redownloading it. When I got that message on some demos, I redownloaded them and it cleared right up.
