@Wolfwhispers - Yay Charmeleons happy again :)

As the pokemon got closer, Tyson could make out what it looked like. The pokemon resembled a sheep that had yellow wool, a blue head and blue feet. It's ears and tail had a yellow and black striped pattern, and it had a curly tuft of hair on its head. The pokemon stopped a short distance from Tyson and started eating the grass on the edge of the path...

It's ears and tail had a yellow and black striped pattern, and it had a curly tuft of hair on its head. The pokemon stopped a short distance from Tyson and started eating the grass on the edge of the path...

"Charmeleon, use Ember!" Tyson shouted immediately.

Grinning, Charmeleon opened its smoking mouth, unleashing the attack. "Cha!"

Looking up, the Mareep gave a loud screech of pain and shock as the harsh attack pounded away at its side. "Marreee!" it cried out. "Meep!" Shaking its fur, Mareep charged after the attack had ended, determined Tackle Charmeleon.

"Don't let it paralyze you with its static," Tyson warned. "Ember!"

"Merr!" Mareep bawed, a clear blue shield surrounding it as it paused, feet firmly planted on the ground. "Mep," Mareep said happily as the Ember bounced off the Reflect.

"Char," Charmeleon grunted in irritation.

"Meep!" Mareep called out, using the time to ram Charmeleon away before prancing back happily.

"Charm!" Charmeleon snarled, getting up from the ground. He growled lowly, lip quivering to reveal saliva soaked fangs.

"Charmeleon, use Ember!"

"Cha!" Charmeleon roared, fireing the fire balls. "Che," Charmeleon snorted as the harsh attack hit the Mareep, making it cry out.

"Mrr..." Mareep said softly body shaking with pain. "Meep!" it cried, charging at Charmeleon.

:Char!" Charmeleon grunted, holding out its arms to stop Mareep's Tackle attack. "Charmel," Charmeleon ground out, feet digging into the ground to keep from being pushed back as Mareep pushed heavily against the fire lizard.

"Charmeleon, close up Ember!" Tyson called.

Grinning at a wide eyed Mareep, Charmeleon basically opened its mouth around Mareep;s head and let it out. "Charrr!" Charmeleon snarled, allowing the flames to shoot out at such a close range.

"Mareeeep!" Mareep screamed, jumping back from Charmeleon and rolling around in pain, digging its head into the ground in a way to make the burning stop.

"Char, char, char, char," Charmeleon laughed before his eyes went wide. "Meleon?" Charmeleon question, looking like he was going to puke. He held his muzzle shut, but it looked as if something were trying to get out. "Meleooooon!" Charmeleon screamed at last, opening his giant muzzle.

Tyson's jaw dropped at the sight that happened. A skinny flame shot out of Charmeleon's mouth, but as soon as it hit Mareep, the area around it lit up in red and purple fire, completely knocking out the poor pokemon.

"Maaa!" Mareep had called out in pain, unable to stand such a vicious attack before collapsing.

Shutting his mouth with an audible snap, Tyson review his pokedex.

Dragon Rage: Launches shock waves that always inflicts 40hp. (Dragon type move)

So that it explained it...

"Charrm," Charmeleon said in awe, unable to believe that such a powerful attack had come out of its mouth. Tyson walked up to his pokemon. "Wierd way to discover a new attack."

"Char," Charmeleon scratched his cheek with a single finger, looking just as amused as its trainer.

Turning back to the fallen Mareep, Tyson tossed a pokeball and watched it engulf the pokemon. He needed more pokemon, and if he didn't grow to like this one, there was always trade. With a deep breath, Tyson watched the pokeball shake...

@Wolfwhispers - The ball shook left to right a few times, before stopping and letting out a ding to signify that the capture had been succesful...

Congratulations Tyson caught a Level 8 Mareep

Tyson grinned as the pokeball stopped shaking and lit up with a 'ping', indicating he had captured. "Good job, Charmeleon," he said to the fire type.

"Cha," Charmeleon looked smug, puffing up his chest and letting out a burst of flame.

Tyson rolled his eyes. "Yea, yea... Hey! I think that's it!" he said excitedly, pointing to a wooden cabin a fair distance away. "Come on!"

"Charm!" Charmeleon said, back to being happy with Tyson, though the young trainer was sure it was because the fire type had learned such a powerful attack.

"Come on... Aw, come on!" Tyson cried angrily. He could see the cabin, knowing that directions to the next town lay in there, but some strange looking pokemon popped out of some bushes, looking pissed off and ready to kill.

"Carm," Charmeleon spat, coming in between Tyson and this new pokemon.

Unsure of what it was, Tyson brought out his pokedex...

@Wolfwhispers - What looked like a pink bipedal bulldog with unusual blue polka dots covering its body was standing in front of Tyson, blocking his way to the rest point. Its face was somewhat fierce looking, with a pronounced underbite. Tyson scanend the pokemon with his pokedex...

Snubbull
Type: Normal
Gender: Female
Attacks: Tackle, Scary Face, Charm, Bite
Nature: Rash

When Tyson had finished scanning the pokemon, he gave the Snubbull a real good look. Grinning, Tyson brought out a pokeball. "Go, Snorunt!"

With a burst of white light, the cone pokemon appeared. "Sno!" she called, giving a little spin.

"Snorunt, Powder Snow!" Tyson ordered.

Laughing, Snorunt opened her mouth and unleashed the icy attack. "Sno!" The harsh snow flakes bashed against Snubbull's body.

"Snuu!" Snubbull cried out, closing her eyes and covering her head with her arms. When the attack had ended and she was left shivering, she opened her eyes and gave an angry bellow. "Snuu!" Snubbull charged at Snorunt, mouth wide open for a Bite attack.

"Snorunt, Double Team," Tyson ordered with ease.

"Sbu!" Snubbull cried in shock as it bit down on Snorunt, only to find out Snorunt had multiplied and the one it had bitten into was nothing but air

"Sno! Sno!" Snorunt laughed, mouth wide. "Run!" Snorunt cried in shock as a much harsher ice attack blew out of its mouth, hitting Snubbull straight on.

"Bull..." Snubbull shivered, trying to brush off some ice on its fur.

"I think you just learned Icy Wind," Tyson said with a grin. "Right, Icy Wind!"

"Sno!" Snorunt said energetically, eager to use its new attack. "Run!" she cried, firing the attack.

"Bull!" Snubbull cried, diving out of the way. She gave a nasty bark as the cool air sent shivers down her spine. Eyeing Snorunt, Snubbull's face suddenly turned very ugly and very scary. "Bulll!" Snubbull cried.

"Sno!" Snorunt cried out in shock, eyes wide and trembling from the Scary Face attack.

"Bull!" Snubbull cried in victory, charging at the ice type for a Tackle attack and bashing the shocked cone away.

"Rut rut rut," Snorunt said pitifully, rolling away because of its cone body.

Tyson couldn't help but give out a chuckle. "Snorunt, get a hold of yourself and use Icy Wind!"

Doing an extra roll, Snorunt jumped to her feet and launched the icy attack, the wind howling slightly from the force.

Snubbull stopped in her tracks from the next Tackle attack, eyes wide as she took the brunt of the attack. "Snub," Snubbull said weakly, legs beginning to shake from not only the cold, but from pain and exhaustion. "Buls," Snubbull growled, charging again at Snorunt, mouth wide open in a Bite attack.

"Fight back with your Bite attack!" Tyson bellowed.

Nodding, Snorunt ran head on with Snubbull, mouth even wider than Snubbulls. "Sno!" Snorunt cried, Biting down on Snubbull's leg.

The puppy pokemon gave a loud bark of pain before clamping down on the top of Snorunt's cone shaped head. "Snub..."

Snorunt moaned, but dared not let go of Snubbull's leg. "Sno..."

"Snorunt," Tyson said with a grin, "Icy Wind!"

Blinking, Snorunt did as she was told, despite having her mouth on Snubbull's foot. "Sno," She grunted, firing away.

"Snuuuub!" Snubbull screamed, releasing Snorunt's head and bouncing away on one foot, the other one completely covered in ice. "Bull! Bull!" Snubbull barked, wavering horribly as the pain began to get to it, nearly at its breaking point.

"Almost there," Tyson breathed. "Snorunt, finish it with Bite!"

"Snor!" Snorunt cried, eager for a little payback from the bite mark appearing on her head. "Run!" Chomping down hard on Snubbull's side, Snorunt didn't let go until Snubbull went down.

"That's it, Snorunt!" Tyson cheered. "Keep it up!"

Off to the side, Charmeleon picked at his horn with a claw, looking bored and believing he could have finished the battle way earlier. "Che..."

"Snub... le..." Snubbull moaned, eyes going shut at last as she stopped putting up a fight.

"Snoo," Snorunt crooned happily, releasing Snubbull and trotting over to Tyson for approval.

"Great job, Snorunt," Tyson said, leaning down to pat Snorunt on the head.

"Sno!" Snorunt said happily, turning to Charmeleon.

"Che," Charmeleon said, folded arms and back turned on the ice type.

"Snoo," Snorunt said slowly, a little sadly.

"Eh, don't mind this grumpy lizard," Tyson said lightly. "He's just pissed cuz he didn't get to battle this one," he continued with a grin.

"Runt," Snorunt said, a little happier as she accepted the praise.

"Alright, return," Tyson said, returning the two pokemon. With a quick eagerness, Tyson got to the cabin, thankful it was only a few minutes walk.

"Hello," a Nurse Joy greeted as soon as he entered the cabin. "Are you here for directions?"

"Yea, and to get my pokemon healed," Tyson said.

Taking his pokeballs, Nurse Joy put them in the machine to get them healed. "Alright then, young man," Nurse Joy said with a smile. "Here are the directions..."

@Wolfwhispers - Nice battle :)

Congratulations Snorunt grew to Level 15

"If you take the cable car outside, it will take you half way up the Mountain," explained Nurse Joy, "Then, by orders of the Gym Leader, you have to climb the last part of the Eastern Ridge yourself. At the top is Highland, its a town and the Gym Leader is quite insistent on 'seperating the strong challengers from the weak'. That's why you have to climb some of the mountain yourself. The Mountain is quite steep and there are many wild pokemon which have settled on the slopes... so be careful."

That's why you have to climb some of the mountain yourself. The Mountain is quite steep and there are many wild pokemon which have settled on the slopes... so be careful."

That had been what Nurse Joy had said quite a while ago, and now Tyson was enjoying the view from the cable car with his pokemon out. Charmeleon was eagerly watching the flying pokemon that flew past the cable car. There was a mixture of bird pokemon, and Charmeleon was watching them all enviously, dreaming of the day he would fly.

Snorunt would run to the front of the cable car and roll down the aisle as the cable rose steeper and steeper at an angle, laughing the whole time in such a childish way.

Mareep was sound asleep by Tyson's side, her head laid upon his side. She snoozed away, only jolting awake when the cable cart came to an abrupt stop.

"Look's like we're here," Tyson said, stretching as he got off the cart and onto the narrow pathway that led up. As he stared, he noticed that some of the path was completely gone, meaning he had to climb and attach himself to the mountain sides. "Return, Snorunt," Tyson said, not doubting that the ice type would most likely fall to her doom.

"Cha," Charmeleon said, already strutting toward the path, Mareep bounding forward like a pro. She had probably grown up on the mountain, knowing very well the dangers and safety of the mountain.

Tyson trudged after them in eagerness, loving the sight that he was met with. The world truly seemed like a much bigger place when he was above it, looking down at it. A few clouds were below him, giving the far off land a slightly hazy look. The sun was high and bright, making it a beautful day, though the mountain air was slightly chilly and he eagerly put on a jacket.

"Mare!" Mareep bawed to Tyson, causing him to jog over to his pokemon and see what it was that alerted them.

"What is that?" Tyson wondered, looking at the pokemon before him.

@Wolfwhispers -

"What is that?" Tyson wondered, looking at the pokemon before him.

The pokemon looked almost... well human, but smaller. However, the pokemon was predominantly purple in color with a brown bottom and feet. There were white lines on its torso which resembled bandages. These bandages were also on its wrists. It has three spikes on top of his head which resembled a crest.

Tyson grinned at the pokemon's eagerness as it gestured for him to come at it. "Go on, Mareep," he said to the electric lamb.

Charmeleon scowled at Tyson.

"Mar," Mareep said happily, bounding in front of the pokemon.

"Mareep, Tackle!" Tyson ordered.

"Ma!" Mareep bawed, charging with her head down, determined to prove herself.

"Ty!" Tyrouge smirked, jumping at Mareep and slapping his hands together right on Mareep's muzzle, causing her to flinch. "Rou!" Tyrouge crowed confidently, flipping back.

Tyson grit his teeth at the Fake Out attack. "Mareep, Tackle!" Tyson ordered.

Throwing up her head, Mareep charged. "Mareep!"

"Ty," Tyrouge grinned, charging too, almost like a blur with its fist out.

"Reflect!" Tyson barked.

"Meep," Mareep said softly, a blue shield appearing around her, and just in the nick of time.

"Ty," Tyrouge grit his teeth in irratation as he bounced off the shield, leaving Mareep untouched.

"Meep!" Mareep bellowed, using that chance to strike back, Tackling Tyrouge away.

"Rou!" the fighting type cried, getting bashed back and right into the mountain side. "Roo," it said irritably, wary of its footing near the edge of the mountain path. "Rou!" it bellowed, charging again with its spiked head forward, trying out its own Tackle.

"Meet its Tackle with yours," tyson ordered quickly.

Grunting, Mareep pawed at the ground for a moment before charging at Tyrouge, her head down.

"Mar!"

"Tyr!"

The pokemon each growled out their dislike of each other, both pushing hard against the other ones head. They were eye to eye, neither giving nor letting.

"Come on, Mareep!" Tyson cheered. "You can do it!"

Heartened by her trainer's cheer, Mareep pressed forward, head pulling back just for an instant to bash Tyrouge's head back. "Meep!"

Tyrouge staggered back, clutching his head. "Tyr," Tyrouge grimaced, glaring at Mareep. "Tyrou!" he bellowed, jumping at Mareep, fist closed. "Rou!" With a harsh sound, Tyrouge punched the electric lamb back with its Mach Punch.

"Mareee!" Mareep cried, sliding back on its side.

"Watch out for the side!" Tyson barked, body tensing and gut wrenching.

"Meep," Mareed said, quickly jumping to her feet and jumping off to the side to avoid a probably fatal fall. "Mp," Mareep winced, looking incredibly tired.

Tyson let out a sigh of relief. "Mareep, you ok?"

"Ma... eep!" Mareep cried, getting Tackle by Tyrouge in the middle of a nod. "Mrepp," she growled angrily, bashing her head back and forth. "Meep!" she cried, bashing Tyrouge back.

"Yt!" Tyrouge cried, bouncing back painfully into the cliff side. "Rou..." Tyrouge panted, holding his arm.

"I think its nearly done for," Tyson said aloud.

"Ty!" Tyrouge snapped angrily, running forward, fist out for a Mach Punch. "Tr...!"

That was it! "Tackle!" Tyson cried, seeing Tyrouge's wince.

Mareep, seeing the wince as well, waited until Tyrouge had shut his eyes for an instant in pain. "Meep!" she cried, bounding forward eagerly. Head down, she bashed the fighting type right in the head. "Mreep!"

"Tyrroou!" Tyrouge cried, flying back and landing in a crumbled heap of limbs. "Try... rouge," Tyrouge finished, eyes going shut in defeat.

Mareep stood over the fallen type, panting hard with a look of disbief. "Meep," she said, prodding Tyrouge's unconcious form, as if unable to believe she had actually won.

Again, Charmeleon looked unimpressed. "Che."

"Hush," Tyson admonished the fire lizard. "Great job, Mareep! You won!"

"Meep..." Mareep said, a little dazed. She gave a small sigh, sinking to her stomach.

Tyson looked bemused. "Tired, huh? Well, have a good rest, you really earned it."

"Meep," Mareep sighed in thanks, allowing herself to be returned in a beam of red light.

"Cheee..." Charmeleon hissed, sniffing around in disinterest.

"Oh, don't be like that," Tyson said, playfully cuffing the back of Charmeleon's head. "If your really want, you can battle the next pokemon."

"Chere," Charmeleon said slyly, squinting up at Tyson suspiciously.

"What's with that look?" Tyson asked, affronted. "Look! There's a pokemon right there!" he point to a small dent in the mountain cliff where a pokemon was sitting. "You wanna battle? Go!"

Flexing his claws, Charmeleon jumped in front of the pokemon, letting out a sharp hiss in challenge. "Cherrr."

The pokemon looked down at Charmeleon in amusement before skillfully crawling down the mountain cliff and coming to stand in front of the fire lizard. It let out its own hiss, though still looking amused as it got into a battle pose...

@Wolfwhispers -
Congratulations Mareep grew to Level 10 and learned Thundershock

Charmeleon towered over the small pokemon that was challenging him. The small pokemon had a body that looked like it was made of steel. It had a large steel-clad head with pale blue eyes...

"It's an Aron," Tyson noted. "You should have no trouble since you're a fire..."

"Char!" Charmeleon snarled, pounding at Aron's back with a hot Ember attack.

"Ar," Aron grunted, body glowing with its Harden attack to help deal with the pain, but the damage was still massive, being part steel type. "Ar," Aron said simply, turning around and digging its feet into the ground, bringing up a ton of mud.

"Char!" Charmeleon hissed as the Mud Slap pounded against his skin.

"Ember it!" Tyson ordered.

"Cam!" Charmeleon snarled, mouth wide to allow the flames to leave its mouth.

"Ar," Aron grunted in amusement as the Ember attack went right over its head. Grinning, it charged at Charmeleon, bashing the fire lizard right in the gut with its Tackle attack and knocking the air out of him.

"Cha," Charmeleon gasped, moving away and holdin his stomach with one hand and removing the mud in his eyes with the other one.

"Charmeleon, watch out!" Tyson called.

"Cha?" Charmeleon questioned, opening his eyes to see Aron charging again, head lowered. "Char!" Charmeleon roared, jumping over the tiny pokemon easily.

"Ember!" Tyson shouted with Charmeleon still over metal lizard.

"Char!" Charmeleon roared, firing away at the pokemon below it.

"Ar!" Aron cried out in shock, quickly Hardening. Her metal body turned dark, but the flames still landed painfully on her back and made her falter. "Ron!" Aron cried, sending out a blinded Mud Slap.

"Che," Charmeleon scoffed, jumping away from the flung mud. "Meleon," Charmeleon said softly, warily moving in a position to attack once more.

"Arr," Aron growled, digging her feet into the ground and standing off against the larger lizard. If only she were bigger, she could easily stomp this pokemon. "Ron!" Aron cried, charging again, head down.

"Ember!" Tyson barked.

"Char!" Charmeleon called, firing away the hot flame balls.

"Ar!" Aron grunted, jumping to the side but still running straight on.

"Char!" Charmeleon called again, firing another Ember.

"Ar! Ar!" Aron cried each time she jumped and dodged. "Ron!" she got out at last, jamming her head right into Charmeleon's side.

"Cha!" Chrmeleon gasped, getting thrown back. "Melon!" he cried in anger, quickly swiping at Aron's head before he was completely pushed back.

"Aron," Aron chuckled, the Scratch attack barely doing anything to her.

"Normal attacks don't work well against rock and steel pokemon," Tyson warned.

Charmeleon scowled at Tyson. 'You're telling me this now?' he said with his eyes. "Che," Charmeleon scoffed, blowing more flame at the smaller lizard.

"Ron!" Aron called, jumping out of the way mockingly.

"Cha!" Charmeleon roared in anger, stomping his feet. "Me! Me! Me!" Charmeleon snarled with each fire ball coming out of his mouth, This time, though, he launched them everywhere so that when Aron tried to dodge, she would eventually get hit because there was no rythm.

"Aro," Aron grunted, jumping away from one, but because of the chaotic balls, she was quickly hit. "Roor!" Aron cried as the fire burned away at her. "Roo," she said softly before crying out in pain as another bast of Ember's pounded at her.

"Char!" Charmeleon smirked as he fired another round of Ember's, hitting the metal lizard for good this time. It was beginning to look a little burnt in some places. Well, not really burnt... Just looked as if charcoal had been rubbed on its hide.

"Ron," Aron growled, quickly digging into the ground and digging up dirt.

Charmeleon blanched as the Mud Slap pounded away at him, making his body sting as some of the dirt brushed against the core of his tail flame. "Char!" he ground out angrily.

"Hey, Charmeleon," Tyson called. "I say we finish it with your best move! Dragon Rage!"

A reptilian smile appeared on Charmeleon's face as he eyed the worn out metal lizard. Taking a deep breath, Charmeleon unleashed the red and purple beam just as Aron dug up some dirt. "Cha!"

The dragon attack went straight through the weak mud, hitting Aron head on. "Ron"! Aron cried as the draconic flames erupted around it, burning away at its hide. It was a horrible attack that literally zapped away at her health and power, no matter how hard she tried to fight it. "Aro... onnn," Aron said softly, finally collapsing.

"Cha," Charmeleon barked, letting out a small flame in victory.

Tyson brought out a pokeball. "Good job, Charmeleon, but I'll take it from here. Go, Pokeball...!"

OOC: I love how we're constantly going back and forth, but sometimes I get the feeling I'm the only RP player left. T_T

@Wolfwhispers - Nice post... I know I'm starting to feel like that as well :(

Congratulations Tyson caught a Level 9 Aron

Hopefully Sign-ups are still open. I saw you posted last month that they weren't...But I would still like to join very much.

The pokeball flew at the small pokemon, hittin her and sucking her inside. The ball dropped to the floor and began to shake left to right a few times. All of a sudden the ball stopped shaking and let out a ding to signify that the capture had been succesful...

"Yea!" Tyson cheered, jumping in the air with excitement.

"Che," Charmeleon said with a shrug, clearly saying it wasn't that hard.

Tyson laughed as he picked up the pokeball and strapped it to his belt carefully. One more added to his team, and it looked like a strong one! "Hey, look over there!" he said eagerly, pointing to a wall on the cliff edge. Strangely enough, the path ended, and there were holes put into the side that obviously meant he had to climb up.

"Char," Charmeleon said, easily jumping and climbing up the slope, his claws making good grips.

A little more carefully, Tyson followed, knowing that he didn't have claws to get a good grip on the side of the mountain, but having climbed all over the volcano back in his home island, Tyson wasn't too nervous.

"Cha," Charmeleon said softly, almost in wonder.

Tyson climbed to the top, or at least the start of the next part of the cliff, and saw what Charmeleon was looking at. There was a rather large grass area that looked as if it had been pushed into the side of the moutain. All around were Mareep and Flaffy grazing about.

Tyson stepped into the small grass meadow, marveling at all of the electric pokemon. "Woah..."

"Meep!" a Mareep snarled suddenly, alerting all of the others.

"Woah!" Tyson called, feeling as if an earthquake was occurring. They all ran around him, forming a tight circle of angry sheep. Two Mareep bounded forward, bodies sparking with electricity. "Go, Snorunt!" Tyson shouted hurriedly, tossing the pokeball with much haste so that the ice type appeared next to Charmeleon.

"Snoo!" Snorunt called happily before blinking at the angry pokemon.

"Char!" Charmeleon spat at Snorunt, telling the go happy pokemon that this was a serious situation. "Mar!" he growled, firing and Ember attack at the two attacking sheep, hitting them both.

"Mere!" the cried out in pain. Glaring, the two fired a Thundershock at the same time, tails touching each other's, almost as if they were powering up the other one.

"Snor!" Snorunt cried, jumping to the side to avoid the attack.

"Char!" Charmeleon cried out, jumping away too slowly. "Meleon!" he roared, startling the pokemon.

"Ember and Icy Wind!" Tyson called to the pokemon.

"Mreep! Mee!" the two Mareep's bawed in anger, again launching at Thundershock.

"Snor!" Snorunt cried, opening its mouth opening to allow the freezing blast of air to head straight at the two pokemon.

"Melo!" Charmeleon cried, eager for revenge in his sadisic way. Mouth opening, the sizzling hot flames circled the icy attack, creating a mixed attack that shocked and surprised the two sheep pokemon into staying absolutely still.

"Snorr!" Snorunt cried out in pain, getting electrocuted by the two Thundershocks. Body shaking horribly, Snorunt hunched over in exhasution, but still in the game.

The two electric pokemon, however, from the force of the combo attack, screamed out in pain as their bodies literally got torn by the heat and icy coldness.

"Mar..." one said.

"Reep..." the other finished, the both of them falling to the ground, unconcious.

The surrounding pokemon bawed angrily, sparks shooting everywhere. These territorial pokemon were crazy!

"Fla!" a Flaffy cried angrily, Tackling Snorunt from behind.

"Runt!" Snorunt cried.

"Meleon!" Charmeleon snarled. Despite not liking the ice type, no one, no one, messes with his team! "Charrr!" Charmeleon roared, firing a large Dragon Rage, the attack hitting head on.

"Flaff!" Flaffy cried in pain, literally flying threw the air and landing in the mix of Mareep and Flaffy.

"Crap, crap," Tyson muttered as the low bawing continued, more coming forward to attack, Snorunt and Charmeleon continuing their attacks. "Go, Aron!" he cried.

With a burst of white light, the metal lizard appeared, looking worn out, but once it took in the sight, it took a battle stance. "Ar!"

"Aron, help them out with Mud Slap!"

"Roorn!" Aron cried, charging forward and digging up dirt as she did so.

"Char!" Charmeleon spat, jumping out the way of the mud attack, a few Mareep taking the place of where he had been. He growled warningly at the smaller pokemon, but Aron ignored it.

"Ron," Aron grunted, squaring off against the angry pokemon.

Tyson moved closer to his pokemon, wondering what had caused all of these pokemon to grow angry at the sight of a trainer.

"Snoo!" Snorunt cried suddenly, getting zapped by a Thundershock attack from a random Mareep. "Sno," Snorunt grunted, falling to the ground.

"Ron!" Aron snarled, Mud Slapping the offending pokemon, knocking it out and coming to cover its teammate.

"Char!" Charmeleon snarled, launching an Ember all around, trying to his as many pokemon as possible.

Aron and Snorunt both grimaced as they got shocked again, only able to defend themselves with more icy attacks and a Mud Slap.

Tyson's fist shook as his pokemon grew wearier and wearier. Grabbing his last pokeball, Tyson threw it, hoping that his Mareep would be able to stop all of these ones, despite being so tired from ealier. "Go!"

With a burst of light, Mareep appeared, still looking weary but healthy enough. "Maree!" it bawed before tilting its head at the sight of the pack.

All at once, the entire pack stopped fighting. It was as if time had stopped for a moment. And then it was over. They ignored Tyson and his other pokemon, all of them surrounding a happy Mareep.

"Mare! Me me prep mepa!" Mareep laughed with delight, nuzzling into an older looking Flaffy.

"Flaff," it crooned, nuzzling with Mareep.

"Uh, Mareep?" Tyson asked with confusion.

"Meep!" Mareep said happily, licking at the Flaffy and gesturing all around.

Tyson and the other pokemon looked around before it finally sunk in. The Mareep and Flaffy here were wary of trainer's because they were afraid of getting catured. Tyson's Mareep had wandered way down the mountain, most likely making the others believe it had been captured, which it had been.

"Meep," Mareep said softly, aware of the other Mareep's and Flaffy's watching. She nuzzled into Tyson's hand, and he easily petted back, smiling down.

"Yea, I know," he said softly, ignoring the waver in his voice.

Despite the fact that Mareep had only been with him for a little bit, he still felt an attachment towards the electric lamb, just like with Heracross.

"Meep!" Mareep said happily, nuzzling Tyson thankfully and going over to to his other pokemon to say goodbye.

"Snoo!" Snorunt was bawling her eyes out and holding Mareep close with her ball hands.

"Che," Charmeleon scoffed, turning away and being his usual self. Really, they barely knew each other!

"Aro," Aron said respectfully, nodding at Mareep in goodbye.

"Meep," Mareep said, nudging Charmeleon's hand.

"Ch... e," he scoffed lightly, face turning sour, though he did give a backwards wave.

Appeased, Mareep bawed at Tyson, tail wagging and mischief glittering in her eyes as she bounded off. She appeared in a minute, carrying with her an oddly colored stone. She dropped it in front of Tyson and gave one last baw. "Meeep!" she cried, running off with her herd.

Tyson watched her go, feeling a little heavy in the gut. Curiously, he picked up the strange rock. It was a green blue. In the middle was a bunch of lines looking like a sun had burst inside of it. He smiled lightly and turned to his pokemon. They all looked exhausted.

"I think we can set up camp and continue tomorrow," he told them.

Graciously, they all collapsed.

The ball shook left to right a few more times, before stopping and letting out a ding to signify that the capture had been successful. Chris walked over to the Pokeball and couldn't help but smile as he picked up the Pokeball. "Our first capture in the Islands, Dile" Chris said to the Totodile next to him as he put the Poochyena on his belt.

"Toto... Dile..." Dile panted, happy that he had won, but absolutely exhausted from both the gym battle and the battle with the Poochyena. The sun was almost set behind them, and an orange tint of Twilight covered the sky. Chris picked up the Totodile and put him on his shoulder. "Come on, Dile. Let's go get some rest."

The two got to the Pokecenter just as the sun had set and darkness had filled the streets. "Hey Nurse Joy." Chris greeted as he walked through the doors of the Pokecenter.

"Hello. How'd the battle with Samantha go?"

"Good, I won." Chris said nonchalantly before suddenly doing a double-take. "You knew?"

She gave Chris a sincere smile "Well, I wouldn't be a very good nurse if I didn't know the leader. Oh! So you caught another Pokemon!?" She asked, noticing the Pokeball on Chris' belt.

"Yeah... A Poochyena I found wandering in the streets. He probably needs a bath..." Chris took the pokeball as well as Dile and gave them to Nurse Joy. She then had a Chansey wheel the Pokemon to the Recovery Center.

"Have you named it yet?" She asked as she punched some numbers into a machine

"What?"

"You know. Give It a name?"

"Oh... No. Umm... I guess something simple, like Thief or Shadow or something."

Nurse Joy stopped what she was doing for a moment and gave Chris a blank stare before rolling her eyes. "Whatever..."

"So, do you have a place I can stay for the night?"

"Yes." She said, throwing Chris a key "And your Pokemon will be out in about twenty minutes."

"Alright, Thanks."

Sure enough about twenty minutes later, both Dile and the newly caught Poochyena were brought out. Dile immediately jumped onto Chris' shoulder, looking as energetic as ever. However, the Poochyena looked rather timid, totally unrelated to what he had been like in the street.

"Hey there Poochyena." Chris said in a calm tone, "I'm Chris, your new trainer." The Poochyena looked up at Chris for a moment, then yipped in happy tone. "Now what to name you..." Chris mumbled to himself as he thought for a name. "How bout Thief?" The Poochyena barked in what Chris assumed was agreement. Content with his decision, the trio began to walk to their room the Nurse rolled her eyes, before continuing her work.
------------
The next morning, Chris immediately got up and quickly packed his stuff back up before running for the front desk with Dile and Thief in tow. Nurse Joy was already up and and working hard.

"Morning, Nurse Joy." Chris greeted. "Thanks for the room and everything, but I got to split. Do you know where the next town is?"

(OOC: Sorry, I know It's really rushed :|, but I thought It would be important to post)

"Your best bet would be to head up Route 7 towards the Eastern Ridge," said Nurse Joy, "At the end of Route 7 is a Rest Point. It's quite a rough route, and is home to some Ground and Fighting Type pokemon. When you reach the Rest point, you should get directions from the Nurse Joy there."

"Fighting and Ground Type? No Problem! Anyways... Thanks for everything Nurse Joy." Chris said as he waved goodbye, exiting the Pokemon center with Dile on his shoulder and Thief in tow. As he walked through the streets of Port Began, he couldn't help but wonder how far he was behind the other trainers. Eventually, he passed by the gym. Samantha was standing on the front step, awaiting any challengers. Chris gave her a quick nod as he passed by, then continued on his way out of town.

After leaving the town, Chris headed east in the direction of Route 7. Soon, Chris came upon a rocky area of land, barren like a desert but without the sand. The terrain was flat, but random rocks and potholes lined the route and there was little vegetation True to Nurse Joy's description, the area looked like it was the perfect place for Ground and Fighting Pokemon. Suddenly, as if the world had heard Chris' description, a Pokemon appeared...

@Wolfsrain -

A relatively small earth-colored creature creature walked out in front of Chris. The pokemon looked very much like a Hippo, apart from the fact it apparently didn't need any water to survive... judging by the fact it was living way out on this Route. The creature was mostly a sandy colour, with darker colored highlights. It looked up at Chris questioningly...

Tyson, Charmeleon, Snorunt and Aron glared at the flock over their backs as they trudged up the path, all of them pretty much climbing up the ledge itself. The stupid flock wanted them gone as soon as possible, even if they had been impressed that Tyson had raised Mareep up to a level that it could use its electricity. They had managed to sleep all day, cook a little food and eat some of the wild berries for health, but in the end, the paranoid flock shooed them off.

"Che," Charmeleon scowled angrily, claws raking against the side of the mountain.

"Don't take it out on the mountain," Tyson said with a grin and rolled eye.

"Ron," Aron sighed, shaking her head.

"Sno!" Snorunt said happily, oblivious to everything and simply enjoying the sight.

Charmeleon allowed a bit of smoke to escape his nostrils in agitation before his face lit up into a huge, open mouthed smile. "Cham!" he called, pointing to something above them.

Looking up at a rather high cliff that was almost directly above them, Tyson noticed a pokemon. He blinked, wondering what it was, having never seen such an odd looking one before...
