Pokemon perception. Do you prefer anime or games?

We all percieve Pokemon differently. For example, when I see an Ivysaur in Pokemon Fire Red, I think it looks very cool. In fact, that sprite convinced me to start off with Bulbasaur in my first play through of the game. However, when I watch the anime, Ivysaur just looks average, even ugly at some times.

The question I'm proposing to you guys is that which perception of Pokemon do you prefer, the sprite filled games of the moving pictured anime? Feel free to share stories like the one above.

I prefer the Manga interpretations. Still "monsters", but with personality built into the artwork. Although I don't have anything against the sprites, and I really like the original sprites from Pokémon Green.

I prefer the anime when it comes to how the pokemon actually look. There have been times when I've seen a pokemon in one of the games and couldn't figure out what was on it. For the longest time I thought that red beak that serves as Lombre's mouth was a mustache.

Some Pokemon looks better in the game, while most are more appealing in the anime. It's who the Pokemon is and at what angle one wants it to be at that makes a difference.

I presonally think that the anime succeeds when it tries to capture the action side of Pokemon battles.

The battles ocassionally have some BS parts such as pikachu aiming for the horns and an "air lens" for Magmar (I do not think heating air would significantly increase its refractive index).

I only like the anime for the sense of adventure and the characters. I really love Ash Ketchum as a character and I do not like criticisms that he is immature. I also like Misty too.

For the most part, Pokemon and battles look better in the anime. Shame the anime is full of epic fail main characters, so I still prefer the games despite being inferior graphically. At least in the games I don't have to look at Ash's ugly face or hear his whiny voice. And I have the choice not to have to constantly have to look at a stupid electric rodent.

Whose whiny voice? The Veronica Taylor voice or the Sarah Natochenny voice? Of course, I prefer Veronica Taylor.

I do like the character of Ash, but not enough to watch the Hoenn series. I do like his whiny voice, his electric rodent, and his face.

I wish that Misty was always with him.

I definitely prefer the games. I think the shows draw them a little too... Child ish. And the manga, well, they look more chibi-fied. I think they look more natural in the games. ((cough*crystal*cough))

Games, the anime is just blah in my opinion

    Games are so much better.
The anime's been dragging it on for waaay too long. Ash's adventures should have ended after he beat the elite four, and then Gold should have started his adventure, then Brendan, etc.

    Definitely the games.
The towns in the anime have bigger towns and the PokeCenters are larger, but the anime became too...overrated for me.

I perfer the sugimori art. (Even pseudo sugimori art isn't bad)
Not sure what catergory that fits into. Next would be sprites that anime.
I would also put poster art as least favourite but most poster art is from one of those types of pictures.

The anime has better art for the most part. Although I'd rather play them games the watch the anime, I think they should just let ash win the pokemon league, then start a new show with different characters, and Ash and the gang could just be some one the new characters come across once or twice in each season

Out of the two, I prefer the games for appearance.
Also, I prefer how the game's battles work in comparison to the anime's, as I see them as more logical. Thoopid thunder armor >.>

However, I prefer the manga in terms of visual appearance over both xD

It all depends. And even when it does, I like to choose between each element too. Confusing? Maybe...
Like Drizzle said, it's who the Pokemon/person/place is and at what angle one wants it to be at that makes a difference.

Most of the times, I prefer the anime when it comes to looks of things.
When it comes to the landscapes and places, I prefer both at different times.
However, I get a little repelled by the plot setup and story display of the anime at times, and would like to have my own version of them.

Speaking of Ivysaurs, here are some pictures. Each of them have different goodness about them!...
    Spoiler:

I find the games more believable and realistic, as opposed to the anime's version of monsters and god-like monsters who we catch in balls and make them fight for us.

Mostly, it's the fact that Pikachu has been with Ash for at least a few years, yet it gets beaten by an Elekid right in Sinnoh, can hit ground types, and the most annoying aspect, that Pokemon constantly chatter their own name instead of growls, grunts, etc. like a real animal would, it just irks me.

Though I'm also annoyed by the constant "Love and peace, let's all be friends!" spewed by all the main characters over and over, it "is" a kid's show...

The drawing and such isn't bad however, and the landscape is nice.
