    hey,i was thinking about the nickname rater,isn't it RATER??? i mean,nintendo should put a system that rates your names.i dunno,from 0 to 10 or something like that,just to make it a little more fun.what do u say?
     
    The name rater says "I think this is a pretty good nickname! But do you want to change it to something even better!"

    Rating something isn't always giving a */* note.
     
    well, there are so many nicknames to give to your pokemon, millions.

    From 0 to Zero, remember, they aren't going to program millions of nicknames in the rater's head. So he just asks you if you want a new one, that's why it's not as fun :(

    The Name Rater is an idiot.
    "Mightena is a good name for your Mightyena! Would you like to change it?"
    "Erm... ok."
    "Ok ^^."
    "NO, I CHANGE MY MIND!! WAIT!! ...um, M - I - G - H - T - Y - E - N - A."
    "So, you want to change your Mightyena's nickname to Mightyena?"
    "..."
    "Will do! :D"
    This happened to me. Sorta. Well, I made it interesting with nice sentances.
     
    Lol, they did a sort of rating system with the tv show which comments your pokémon's new nicknames, for example with "this A following the V is just wonderful, this pokémon might be good at pokémon contests" or useless things like this... it won't be interesting unless you want to see a random 10>...>0 number rating your nickname.
     
    Ratings do not need to be numbered. "Great", "awesome", "wonderful" and "crap" are ratings.

    Although I do agree he's kind of bland. :\
     
    They don't want to hurt kids' feelings when they think someone's nicknames suck, so he just likes all of the nicknames. lul
     
    Oh, I agree.
    Though the Nickname Rater would probably "prefer" Romaji names like Hiro or Riku since Pokemon originates from Japan. xD He probably won't look too fondly on Fred/Bob/Olsen.
     
    In my Emerald file the Pokemon Name Rater won't let my change my Latios's name since it's a good nickname.
    Im serious.
     
    The Name Rater is basically there if you want to give or change a nickname given to your Pokémon. So when you visit him he will say the name could be better and offer the player the option of changing it. However, if the Pokémon is traded he will say that the name is perfect and refuse to change it.
    You could never believe the game has an AI to actually think how good a nickname is because how do you define a good nickname?
