Tell me guys, is it possible to go to kanto region after beating league? Prof. Elm said me that I should go on the east to victory road and turn right to route 22 but I don't see any solution where should I go.

    Thanks for your advices,
    Rafał

The guy that usually blocks the path to Kanto near the Victory Road entrance should not be there blocking you anymore.

Got this hack a few days ago and been enjoying it, one thing I'm curious about is the shiny color changes you made in the hack, do you have a picture of them all or a list of who got the change?

i was replaying this and i saw a flamebreather guy in union cave who has a charmander that uses AURORA BEAM...seriously? i know this hack increases difficulty but no need to resort to illegal moves...

    also regarding your move tutor...
It will teach any compatible RBY TM move except those that can be already learned by the pokemon in another way (by level up or by GSC TM).

If it couldn't learn it in RBY by TM then it won't learn it with the move tutor. Also, if it learns it as an egg move, then the move tutor won't teach it either. So that's two conditions that aren't met.

just to test your move tutor i went in with Exeggutor.
Exeggutor can learn Psychic through TM but it does not have it in its level up movepool as per your github asm, neither does it learn it as egg move (checked bulbapedia and also through your asm of exeggcute). YET i have been rolling your move tutor umpteens of times seeing all the various crap moves (teleport WTF) but not a single Psychic. I swear that you made this guy not to teach any of the "strong" TM moves (like thunderbolt, psychic, ice beam etc.) on purpose. did you? its fine if you want it that way, but say it directly, don't make misleading statements like the above and make people waste time trying to reroll ad nauseum for nothing

This bug was reported months ago by someone and I was not able to replicate it. Since I was surprised, if I remember correctly I asked in this thread is someone else had experienced that bug. As far as I'm aware nobody else noted it so I kind of forgot about it and considered the possiblity of being an emulator weirdness or similar. I will try to look back into it when I have time, but rest assure that it isn't intended and no trainer pokemon is supposed to know an illegal move (either a move it can't learn or a move he isn't able to learn until a higher level). The only exceptions I am aware of are Falkner's Pidgeotto and Morty's Gengar who can't have evolved at the level they're at. They bugged me for a while in fact, until I got so used to them being there that I kinda just let it go.

    also regarding your move tutor...

Exeggutor can learn Psychic by GSC TM, so the tutor will never try to teach Exeggutor Psychic. i think it's more than clear in the quote above so if you were able to find me saying it, I'm not sure why you wen't crazy hoping it will teach Exeggutor Psychic because it clearly won't. It doesn't matter if the moves the tutor is able to teach are bad or good; they are what they are, and the only purpose of the tutor is to be able to have your first gen Pokemon learn RBY-unique moves without having to trade them to 1st gen. Most of the moves are bad, yeah, so if you don't care about them, just don't bother with the tutor.
Granted I didn't especifically mention that the goldenrod tutor moves (flamethrower, ice beam, and thunderbolt) are excluded from the ecruteak move tutor just like I mentioned level up or GSC TM moves, but still, those 3 moves still classify as moves that can be learned by the Pokemon in another way. It made the most sense to me to exclude them from the ecruteak tutor and rest assure that the reasoning behind it wasn't to make the game harder on purpose.

says the one that remove the goldenrod casino tms prize guy from the counter..
maybe its not a explicit intention to make it harder, seems way too convenient that all the funny conditions attached to the tutor make it turns out that way. to deprive someone of thunderbolt until after you beat red, which is pretty the end of postgame? but whatever. spanish hackers sure has a way with sadism!

The guy in the game corner that sells the tms is not available until you have 7 badges because otherwise you'd have potential access to powerful moves before even the 3rd gym. None of your opponents will know a move that is so powerful by that time, so in my opinion it's fair to remove the accesibility of those moves until later.
The tutor that teaches the elemental moves is also available when you get 7 badges, you don't have to wait until you beat red. It however only shows up certain days like in the original.

This game was meant to be reasonably harder than the original, so it's understandable that you find it hard, no problem about it. Just wanted to point out that while the availability of those moves is delayed, you don't have to wait until the very end. Yes, there are Pokemon like Vulpix or Pikachu that learn the 95 bp moves earlier than usual (level 35-40ish I don't remember), but that's part of what makes them unique in a sense. I know the early availablity of Surf contradicts what I've been saying here, and in fact it's true, but since I didn't want to/wasn't able to redo much of the storyline that stayed the same. But with the other powerful moves, I wanted to make sure they weren't available until I thoguht it was appropriate, and this is supposed to apply to both yourself and opponents. I thought that where other hard move hacks "failed" was that the game progressed to last stage evolutions and the best moves too early so it became repetitive near the end, especially on gen 2 that has kanto after the elite 4. So I wanted to get around that in my hack and that's the main reasoning behind the delays on powerful moves and evolutions (for both you and opponents).

Speaking of TM's, do you intend to change any TM compatibility in future releases? There are a few TM's that don't work with Pokemon in this gen, but do in Gen 3 and later. For example, I had to learn the hard way that Crobat doesn't learn Sludge Bomb this gen :(

I would personally be interested in "correcting" this kind of stuff for DE (and I'm imagine Crystal would like to do this too), but it would totally be too time-consuming to look in Bulpapedia, which pokemon learn a certain TM in later generations that do not learn the same TM in gen II. Although this kind of stuff could be optimized by programming, it would be a waste of time making a program for doing this.

You wouldn't know any other cases when a pokemon doesn't learn a certain TM in gen II while it can learn the same TM in later gens?

One of the main principles of Pokemon Pyrite is that it was meant to stay 100% true to GSC mechanics; in the sense that if competitive battling would emerge out of this hack, it would be 100% similar to current GSC. I know it's a quite arbitrary rule, but the game started like this and in a way I'm glad I kept it throughout the creation of the pack because I know that if I changed even the most minor mechanic it would've been the excuse to start changing every single thing I don't fully agree with to the data of Pokemon or moves.

  • You need 4 Kanto badges to get the radio card from the guy in the lavender town radio tower. Until you have at least 12 badges you're unable to wake up snorlax.
